i'm facing a problem. i'm currently on c.m. 7.2 stable rom, and yesterday i tried to enable usb mass storage on my legend. The on-screen message stuck at the "enabling mass storage" logo, and after a while the device rebooted with no success. that same thing happenned again three times and the i just quited... anyone have an idea about it?
That happened once, but I wish in a rush and just used a MicroSD card adapter.
Unfortunately, I don't recall ever having that happen again after that one incident.

Hi
Yesterday I S-Offed my Wildfire and instelled CM7 rom.
But today I wanted to transfer some music to my phone and i couldn't do it.
When i plug USB cable into PC, my phone just charges and can't do anything more because phone doesn't show that it is plugged by USB. Just USB debugging turns on but I can't transfer anything to my phone.
Yesterday it was all OK but I flashed google apps and Jacob's kernel(v4.2). Maybe that is a problem.
I'm waiting for advice
I have a similar problem.
The phone also shows connect via usb option.
But on doing that, the phone does not show up on my pc.
When I go to "Disk Management" in computer management on windows 7, the disk shows up but I can't assign a drive letter to it and hence it is not accesible.
Can any1 help with the problem ?
Forgot to mention.
The problem does not appear when I connect my wildfire to my mac.
It shows up as as a disk drive when mounted.
I had a similar problem after installing CM7 so I got Multi Mount Sd-Card Lite from the market, put the widget on homescreen and click it each time i mounted my usb.
Hope it solves your problem!

Don't flash Jacob's Kernel v4.2. Keep the stock one.
Thanks for advices
I re-installed CM7 and kept kernel which comes with rom.
Now I have NO problem with that.
So it was kernel problem.
Not sure if anyone flashed this newly released rom -- I kept running into this issue: nc would die immediately after plug in usb while preparing usb mass storage, but worked just fine after reboot.
If I'm not wrong this issue came with the previous rom as well (1.7.15.1). Kinda annoying to wait until auto-reboot to use usb storage.
Can anyone pls share any misconfiguration or whatever's causing this issue? Thanks!
my sgs gt-i9000 on ics 4.0.3 is having a big issue with USB. the phone sometimes does not show up USB mode when connected to a PC. but it indicates its charging. the PC also won't have any info for a connected USB. this has happened to me in several occasions (on ics rom only). and every time I fixed it by wiping data and restoring factory settings. is there another way to fix this.
p.s: today this problem occurred while my phone was connected to the PC on mass storage mode and I put the PC to sleep without disconnecting the phone.
I'd suggest uninstalling & re-installing the usb drivers & Samsung Kies.

never mind, a couple of reboots and sd card mounting/unmounting fixed the problem.

When I plug my nook into my laptop it 'briefly' enters USB mode, and then drops it and the drives. It then tries to go back into USB mode, and basically does this repeatedly until it gives up The nook is basically unusable during this and keeps flashing with the usb mode and normal home screen. After this happens, both the Nook internal storage and SD card are greyed out in settings, reading "unavailable", and the SD card cannot be accessed and is not detected in any way. What gives?
Is this a windows problem, a nook software problem, or a hardware problem? I'm not sure if this happened before I rooted, since I basically just took a backup and rooted as soon as I had it out of the christmas wrapping.

Can you please try to connect it to the pc without the sd-card inserted?
Have you tried reloading the original firmware?

The same thing happens when connecting without the SD card. I haven't tried reloading the original firmware yet but I first really noticed it happening after I did a full backup with NookManager on 1.0.1. That was when I could not get it to stay in usb mode long enough to copy the 1.1 update zip into the directory. The only way I was able to get it in was I 'tried' doing the 6 hard resets where I tried holding down shut down 6 times in a row (but nothing special happened so I thought nothing happened). And then I restarted windows and it seemed to work, for a while anyway, until I rooted. I wonder if that had to do with restarting windows or restarting the nook a couple dozen times. lol
The changes I've made so far to my nook ST:
1.0.1 backup with noogy
1.0.1 backup with nookmanager
1.1 manually update
1.1 root with touchnooter
I rooted 3 times in a row because the first time none of the apps worked
multi touch kernal with CWM
then I switched to
OC kernel with fast mode
lots of software additions and tweaks like legacy launcher, wallpaper changer, ES file explorer, adb wifi
Static IMEI mod
Whatsapp verification/install
So besides the USB problem it's kicking ass at this point . I really hope I don't have to restore to original firmware or return it for hard ware problems. So I can confirm this is not a usual occurrence? Let me test it on some other computers to see if it's my laptop...
UPDATE: I started windows in safe mode and it had no problems whatsoever connecting to the nook as it should, and the nook didn't go nuclear either. So I suspect it's some drivers or software relating to virtual disks that is conflicting with the nook, or something else enigmatic. What a pain..
I just loaded up my LG V20 with the AOKP android 7.1, I plugged in my USB OTG ( SD micro card installed in this) and it will not even power on at all. I rebooted into TWRP, and it works just fine there, I can read, mount and unmount, no troubles. booted to system, but no power at all to the adapter plugged into the usb-c / charging port. My reader is a couple of years old, do you think it might just not be compatible with my new phone? Is there a setting I might be overlooking to enable this to work? Any ideas as to if it might be a hardware of software issue? Thanks.
