What phones does everyone use right now?
Did your current phone influence you on getting the nexus 7?
I currently have an evo4G and evo3D (3D is my daily driver)
Not my current phone but the Nexus S did, I currently use my Galaxy Nexus the most.

My arsenal includes an iPhone 4S, HTC One X, Play Store Galaxy Nexus, and GSIII. I'm hoping to get a call from Game Stop today that my Nexus 7 is in and ready for pickup, too...LOL.
I don't use the 4S anymore...I'll be passing it down to my wife so she can upgrade from her iPhone 4. My daily drivers right now are the GNex and GSIII, as I'm test-driving the GSIII and trying to decide if I'm going to keep it or the One X (I'm leaning towards keeping the GSIII and selling the One X...I won't think about selling the GNex until the next Nexus phone is announced). I've still got 3 more weeks to play with the GSIII before I can't return it, so we'll see, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I bought it at full price from Best Buy.
I do have to admit, though, the GNex with JB is my favorite.
stock nexus s. Waiting for 4.1.1 for it.

I flick between original, amoled HTC Desire (rooted and s-off) and Nexus S I9020 (stock). I prefer the screen and build quality on the former, and the storage (not relying on sdext and so forth) and ICS stock rom (updates) on the latter. I wanted the Nexus 7 no matter which phone I am using!
I have a Desire HD and am still 9 months away from an upgrade. Buying the N7 was an easy decision. Cheap, fast, portable, first tablet.
I'm not fussed about getting a new phone now - will happily wait until next summer.
I've got a rezound at the moment, but I'm upgrading to an S3 tomorrow, which is also the day my 7 gets delivered
I'm far too excited lol
Got an Xperia Play. Hoping i can play games on the n7 using it
T-mobile G2 (Desire Z for those outside the US).
HTC Titan Stable as hell and can do most of the stuff I need it to.
I'm still using my Nexus One. I figured the Nexus 7 would be a good choice because it has like, six more nexuses.
Samsung Vibrant, I still love this phone, but now playing with the 7 it is really dated.

I have a Galaxy S II at the moment. Now that I have the Nexus 7 I know for sure that my next phone will be a Nexus device.

Samsung Focus (spare), Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300 (main).
I had the Samsung Galaxy Note previously, it replaced my SII and my Notion Ink Adam Tablet. But it was too big as a phone and too small as a tablet, both great and bad at the same time IMO, YMMV.
Since hearing of the Asus MeMo 370T for $250. It's what I was considering, until it was cancelled and replaced with a lesser featured prototype, but supported by Google. It wasn't a long wait, so the SGS3 became the best phone option for me.
Galaxy Nexus, duh!
Motorola Photon and I guess it could have helped in my decision because I no longer want to wait for updates. While the Photon is a great phone I'd really like a Nexus phone as well, here is hoping that Moto/Goog is one of the OEM's chosen to make a Nexus phone this fall.
Still rocking a 4s, i just love it especially the apple tv stuff plus all the family have iPods etc etc

How many of you NS4G guys jumping ship to the Galaxy Nexus on Sprint once it drops? Or will you jump to the latest phone whether that be a Galaxy S3 or let's say a Evo 4(if that ever comes out lol)?
Personally I think I'll choose the GNex but those two other phones might just sway me

Not sure but leaning towards the GNex and my upgrade is very close.
Same here snowman I really like my nexus s but something about the GNex just makes me gravitate towards it. Unless the release date comes out later in the year then I might just wait for a possible Motorola nexus?

My upgrade is not soon sadly, hopefully I can get one without paying full retail price
I'm like 85% sure I'm getting it only galaxy s3 can make me wait cuz that phone will kill the GNEX in specs but a dual core Nexus is great & we all know when next version of Android comes out the Nexus will always get it before the Rest & touch wiz suck pure vanilla Android is my taste I went from Samsung Epic 4g which is still a good phone to Nexus S4G & I feel like on you go Nexus stay with it!!!

I just upgraded in like October so that won't be happening for me. Lol. By the time I'm eligible for an upgrade again who knows what kind of monster phones will be out. Lol.

Galaxy Nexus sounds nice and everything but I am still holding back for Galaxy S3.
Last year Google(Samsung) released Nexus S and then come Galaxy S2 with incredible spec bum and I think Galaxy S3 will be no different.
I just upgraded this October as well so yeah I won't be getting any subsidized prices on a GNex lol! I really dislike how sprint and American carriers as a whole usually are last in line for phone releases, I'm guessing the nexus will drop around may-june and then the GS3 maybe august or September ? And then the next nexus announced November by then sprint will wait till like may or June like the GNex ... oh man I hate having a cdma carrier
I'm jumping

I would rather just have a Nexus and not have to mess with that anymore.
I'm stuck in a 2 year contract unfortunately but I love my little Nexus S 4G anyway!
I'll get one. You will never be able to tell the performance difference between it and the gs3 anyway other than in benchmarks. The stock google is worth it.
rumors have been going on about the 5 nexus devices to be released this year as Google io is done the nexus Q is 1 Nexus 7 is 2 and there are rumor of a nexus 10 device which could be 3 and 4 is the next nexus device and 5 could be their own branded Google Tv
I'm wondering whether Google will release a Nexus phone this year as in November, the galaxy nexus will have been out for a year...
Sent from my Nexus S
figure 1 phone and possibly another Tablet, who knows about the last. It's a shame the NexusQ isn't a GoogleTv device but no reason it couldn't be upgraded to one in the future.
I think it may go something like this (slight modification to your idea):
Nexus Q
Nexus Tablet 7in
Nexus Tablet 10in
New Nexus Device $500-$600 - This is the device to rule all devices
GNex Reduced to around $249-$299 - This will allow for a budget friendly, unlocked and powerful device for people who do not want to drop the big bucks for the new device (see above)
If this was the case I would grab the Gnex for my wife and the New device for myself!!
10inch tab is a must
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
I'm going to have to disagree, the Xoom still fits that area pretty well (especially since it just got JB) and the Nexus 7 owes most of it's success to it's price point (which I doubt a 10 inch version could come close to since it would need a higher resolution than 1280x800).
Is there the possibility for a 8.1 inch Nexus 7? This should keep the price still lower than $500. Perhaps $300, and a really good size-neither big nor small.

It doesn't make sense to release a new device for 1.1 more inches of screen size.
I personally don't want a nexus 10 but to be different I suggest nexus 9 i have had 3 10 inches tablets (HP touchpad, Motorola xoom , and Samsung galaxy tab 10.1, ) and the bn nook color along with a iPad 3 (mywifes) and I have to say.... when I went to best buy to check out Samsung's 8.9 it was just the right size .... didn't get one because just don't have the money .... so nexus 9 FTW!

HTC Sensation 4G. I'm rooted running paranoid android on 4.1.2 but the s3 dual core gets so hot and I want a pure Google phone. Benefits: s4 pro, wireless charging, NFC, beam, pure Google, 2gb of ram.
I only have 16gb SD card and i never run out of storage and I only remove battery during boot loop but holding down power button force shuts down so I don't consider those as down falls.

Jumping back on to the Nexus bandwagon and never, ever falling off again.
Had a Gnex but took it back because I didn't want to sign a stupidly long extension to my Canadian contract. Ended up with a free S2 this summer but now since Exynos sucks dev wise, I'm switching to N4.
Can't believe something actually worked out for me and now I can get this at a great off-contract price
Hello all
Just wondering if anybody has switched their S3 for the Nexus 4? and what are your thoughts?
I am going to selling my S3 and obtaining a Nexus 4 simply because it looks amazing, and vanilla android is a bonus..
Your thoughts?

Thoughts on selling S3 for Nexus 4
For people considering a switch to nexus 4 you might wanna check this.
Nexus 4 vs Galaxy s3
Reason not to sell the S3 for the Nexus 4
Good point, can a mod please move this to the Nexus 4 forum?
I have both. The nexus feels and looks better. Other than build quality I can't see why I'd keep the GS3. My nexus has a slight rattle. So it will swapped for a replacement.
The GS3 doesn't feel as nice to hold. Even the GS2 beats it for feel. The os is better and I prefer the camera on the nexus. I think it is quicker too. It feels sharper.
It is all down to personal preference. The GS3 is still amazing, maybe its the fact the Nexus is new is the reason I prefer it. The expandable storage is nice and the removable battery, but I find its not as important as I thought it would be so I'm not missing it.
I'm gonna wait till next year's nexus. Between the SGS3 and the nexus 4 there isn't enough difference in hardware to justify a change.
You want to have android 5.0 when it comes out? Me too, and I will get it with the next nexus.
Similar screen, same battery, same camera, also quad core, etc. I'm very happy with the SGS3 right now.
16GB is definitely not enough for me.
The nexus 4 is indeed tempting, but the s3 now has some rather useful features in the latest 4.1.2 update. Multiwindow for example, is great for watching YouTube while browsing. Sure, vanilla android will probably get multiwindow eventually, but that wouldn't happen until Key lime pie, at least.
Believe it or not but I "require" some of these touchwiz features now, and these features are not in the market, they could be but don't nearly come to what the quality Samsung have.
Never thought I would say this but I love Touchwiz haha.

No surprises there, after years of using third party launchers and most recently Nova Prime, I'm now using TouchWiz for the first time on the S3 after owning all previous versions.
Well I got the Nexus tonight, and I absolutely love it, still got my S3 but she is being sold tomorrow, I don't think I've ever loved a device so much.

Colours on the S3 are overly saturated to me, I prefer the natural looking colours on the nexus.

I don't need to read the Nexus 4 specs to know I'll never consider it, because Nexus = No SD slot and that's why I've crossed Nexus devices that haven't even been thought up yet off my list of possibilities.
Touch wiz features are amazing. I'd get a nexus as a second phone as I don't like pure android as much as jelly bean with touch wiz. Probably I'd use a lumia as a second device rather than a nexus though. The only bonus to a nexus is the extra smoothness gained through less bloat of unnecessary fat that I hope Samsung will trim away in the next few updates.

One man's food is another man's poison. And too many people comment merely based on hearsay. I have both and love them equally. I have been a CM user since CM 6 and N4 scores hands down there. Still, that may not be the clinching factor for you!

I wanted a state of the art developer device!
After I owned the Galaxy Nexus for a while, I decided to go for an HTC One X. This was due to the superior radio/antenna and camera (at the time). Development was strong, but HTC are dicking around with their customers. Currently the dev scene on the One X is dying, which made me remember how good it was on the Galaxy Nexus. I just missed that development community. So, I bought a Nexus 4. No sweat.
Should add an entry:
Because the phone supports AWS band; Works with T-mobile in US, Wind and Mobilicity in Canada, etc.
Low price phone + low price plans combined makes it such a good deal.
Price had alot to do with it also the fact that I wanted a newer, faster phone with a HD screen!
