yup.. i have tried many different sim cards..
it boots up normally but when it tries to fetch network it just goes off and reboots..

help me please

Well, if you want to eliminate the software part, either reset the device back to factory defualts or flash a new rom.
Otherwise, it's hardware based and you are probably out of luck ... When inserted does it even recognize the sim?

Try reflash a stock winmo or custom winmo rom. If you get connection then reflash a android to to see if it works.

So what you're saying is you don't get service even with winmo?
Take off the sim card pin lock with another phone.
of course, try your SIM card in another phone to diagnose if it is not defective!
Hello,
I have almost the same problem. But my phone does not ask PIN (even if I have). Just can not read sim card. It happend after unsuccesfull flashing rom (russian 2.3.3) from CR. In another phone works fine and other sim does not work in my phone. I tryed KDZ official ROM, NAND restore, other ROMs, but still the some problem. No airplane mode, no simlock.
Any help please? Or better unroot, give KDZ official ROM and put in service (that is my last hope)?
I have LG OO P500
Thanks
edit: When I switch off airplane (default choice), it switch on again

The Imei is only barred by operators if the phone is listed as reported stolen. Try ordering a new micro sim card from your operater, first try if your simcard works in another phone to rule out a defective simcard.

Yes, turn on your phone, take your sim card out and re install it, go to network setting and set it to global, leave it like that for some time and it will automatically set your network.
I have had same issue, after updating a rom i get no network. So i set it to global and leave it like that for almost an hour then when i reached my phone again, its connected to network.
Didn't help

7.12.7_7.1, after that, my movile bootloop every 30 secons more or less
Now, when i turn the mobile on, it tells me that the SIM is blocked, but I tried the SIM in another mobile and it works
A/B partition are there so if device is stuck in bootloop it should boot from dormant partition.
You have to flash stock firmware.
Try flashing the persist.img from every build that exists till now. If you manage to flash one of them the issue will be fixed. I've tested it myself.

Please just follow the guide here to get it fixed: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/ota-official-fastboot-image-n2g47h-7-12-t3728929
As it includes all necessary scripts for proper flashing it is secure to use
In worst case, you can also use the appropriate included script to factory reset at the same time when flashing. If nothing else helps, that should do the trick for you

I tried flashing persist.img, and it works!!!
Now I have 2 differents problems.
When I start my mobile, the SIM Pin page shows the message SIM CARD IS LOCKED - NO SERVICE. My sim works in another mobile
When I pu my pin, I get the message "preparing sdcard - Solving errors"
Please just do a full clean flash as recommended by me earlier and your issue should be gone. At least if they are firmware or software related.
After that do a clean flash and that issue should be fixed.

November update messed up and now I can't update anymore.

So here's what happened:
Got a message to reboot my non rooted Mi A1 in order to finish the november update
Clicked on it and waited for the reboot, which took a while
Screen kept flashing, but mostly a black screen with now and then a flash of my background and the task bar in the top of the screen.
Went to this forum to find answers and solutions
OEM was locked and couldn't access the phone, so unlocking OEM and flashing stock was not an option.
Saw someone mention you can switch the active partition. It was set on B and I changed it to A.
Phone works fine with that option, but the message that the update has failed keeps popping up and it gives an error when I try to redownload and reinstall the update.
If anyone knows what the recommended steps are to fix this issue it would be most helpful!
PS. Also if I have to unlock OEM that means it will wipe the phone right? Any tips on backing up the apps including their user data (meaning I won't have to reconnect authenticators to my phone, won't lose game date etc.)
Try to remove sim and disable PIN.
Hi,

You can also take out your sim from your Mi A1, boot your Mi A1, disable pin in settings, shut off, put your sim back and boot.
That's what I did with my wife's phone.
