Anyone have any luck picking this thing up in store so far thats non preordered? cant seem to find anywhere out here in cali.
Sam's Club.
Just picked up the last one in Staples a few minutes ago.
They received their shipment around noon, only got 4, and sold out by 2:30.
I called the same store on Saturday and they said they would not receive them for a month so no one knows for sure.
So Call every store every hour or 2. You may get lucky and they will get a random shipment.
Got mine at Sam's Club on Friday.

Got mine at Gamestop Saturday but people are talking on the other places for sale thread you can search on staples.com store locator see if they have any
So, I pre-ordered when the device was announced. On July 3rd I canceled my play store order, called, talked to a guy, confirmed it was canceled. And I have been waiting for JR.com to send the same one for $50 less ($20 tax, $15 shipping $15 4th promo) $50 less is a lot for an item at this price point.
However.. it seems Google charged me and shipped anyway! even after I had seen it removed from my wallet and been told on the phone it was canceled.
But here it is...
What would be the best choice here?
Get both, inspect & see which one is better (for issues) then sell the other one? Refuse the shipment from Play?
Sell the one you don't want, give as a gift, or send it back.

Give it to me.

I just a nexus 7 from staples, and just realized I have a loose screen from the left side. I cannot return it to staples because I did not purchase a protection plan . Has anyone purchased the nexus 7 from a store and try to get a replacement with google play store? I just emailed google play store and because of the high demand in customer service I have to wait a couple days to get a response.

If you're fairly confident you can use a plastic tool to pop the back case off from the screen and gently tighten the screws up your self.

Staples has a 14 day 100% satisfaction return policy. Has it been more than 2 weeks since you bought it?
Staples Return Policy said:
Easy Returns.
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your Staples purchase, return it for any reason.
Technology and Business Machines: Technology and business machines may only be returned within 14 days of the date of receipt, including Staples® brand technology and business machine products.
Returns with a receipt: If you paid with cash, debit card, or check, we’ll refund your purchase with cash if it was an in–store purchase or by check if you purchased through staples.com®. If you paid using a debit card and if the card and PIN are present during the refund, we'll credit the account used for payment. If your purchase exceeded $500 pretax, and you paid with cash, check or by debit card but do not have your debit card, your money will be refunded in the form of a corporate check. If you paid by credit card, we'll credit the account used for payment.
Any product that is returned without a promotional item(s), which was included in the original transaction (e.g. buy a printer, get free ink), will have the value of the promotional item deducted from the amount refunded.
Returns without a receipt: If you don't have your receipt, your return is eligible only for an in–store credit for the lowest selling price within the previous 30 days in our U.S. stores. Valid government identification is required for all non–receipted returns. We carefully monitor returns and in some cases returns made or without a receipt may be refused. Staples reserves the right to deny any return.

The protection plan is like an in-store warranty service. It doesn't mean they won't accept returns otherwise.
It has only been a day since I purchased the device. However, I don't want to return it, I really like the device. I want to exchange it for a non-defective one.

Then take your refund and get in line.
Google is processing orders and exchanges for Play store customers. You're not going to be processed before them. The larger capacity is backordered.
This is partly why I ordered the 8 after returning my defective 16 to Sam's. I'd rather deal with Google, and the 8 will arrive much sooner.
You, my friend, are a genius.

You can return it to staples if it is defective.
Hey guys! Just saw this in the news! Its free $25 dollar credit at Google Play for buying the HTC One. Redeem it before July 15th!
http://us.htc.com/googleplay/
FYI It's for US owners only (and even then for a very short and specific purchase window.)
While supplies last. Void where prohibited by law. Offer valid only on new HTC One devices purchased and activated in the U.S. between 6/14/13 – 7/15/13. You must register your device at www.htc.com/us/googleplay/redeem by 7/15/2013. Limit one registration per email account. Codes will be delivered to registered email address within 2-4 weeks of registration. Information may be subject to validation. Google Play store credits must be redeemed by 11/30/2013 and may be subject to a later expiration date.
Unfortunately, the site says that its for purchases after June 14th. However, it still took my information and doesn't ask for it in the sign up page, so I tried it anyways. Will post what the email response from HTC will be. Hopefully, this will be useful for new purchasers. Thanks!
EDIT. Thanks for adding that info @snachez.
I bought my htc one from eBay. Getting g it tomorrow. T mobile version. Does that count?

Great share!!! Just got my 32 gigger online for a cool $253. Free shipping, but those pesky taxes! *shakes fist angrily*
Guys, there's a 2013 Nexus 7 forum. Go use that and stop filling up this forum with stuff for a different device. Thanks.
You can't use that cupon on the new nexus... I just tried. The cupon even says so right on it

Not true. It works perfectly.
It does not work. All managers have been told to not accept the coupon. I argued with the manager till she decided to accept it and when she put the code into the computer it declined the coupon. Corporate has stopped the coupon from working. I will be calling corporate tonight or tomorrow and try and get a $30 refund.

staples is out of stock online. just called and they said the stores will have them the 30th. kinda ticked off right now.

Interesting. I wonder if online orders with the coupon will get cancelled, I got a confirmation email but still have not recieved a shipping notification.
Not sure. I might try and order one online and see if it works. If so I'll be returning this one.

That sucks. I think staples is not accepting it anymore, also I heard they are canceling the 30 bucks coupon for all online orders. My friend got his canceled, I did the coupon in person early in morning' and it worked,
i'm going to a store right now to make a purchase.
I was told they don't do holds on stock, so I need to speed down there.
Only 3 left supposedly.
That sucks. I knew it wouldn't last long. I was the 1st to do it and when I printed the coupon it didn't have any restrictions on it. It said $30 off all tablets.

staples rejected me, but i went over to BestBuy to pricematch. I was told they rejected a person who asked earlier in the day, but apparently in this new shift the supervisor allows this one time pricematch for me. $30 saved! While I was waiting someone else came in asking for the new nexus too, but he wasnt using the $30 coupon pricematch.
