Hi friends,
i have one doubt..
is it important to flash the sbf file what quarx is using or is it ok to install CM7 on any stock ROM?
one more question...shall i go for CM7 beta 6 or shall i wait for next upcoming version?
Thank you
You can flash any Froyo Rom ....I am using Indian Froyo and MIUI Rom and CM7 BETA 6 is good according to everyday use...

Hi all,
When I bought my Defy + I installed CM9 (Android 4.0.4),
CM9 switched off everyday, it had few bugs, because it's IMM76D I think..
Then I installed Codename Android (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1585905)
It works much better ! Do you think it's the best Android 4 ROM for Defy + ?
Thanks
Did you have to install any battery fixes?
Glad to know its working for you. Though epsilon3 and Quarx have been doing great work there are still a few bugs.
Hey, no :O
I will install CM7 in fact (for the moment) untill a stable verison of CM9
In fact no, Codename is so good, I'll stay with it

Okay.. So you have a defy+ and flashed this ROM
And it works??
I`ve tested a couple of ROM`s (MS2Ginger, MIUI, CM7 e CM9 and a few others)
In Fact, CM9 still a little buggy, but Epyslon and Quarx`s have made a really great work with his nightly`s
At now i`m on Epyslon Defy+ 042812 last nightly with MS2Ginger4.0 running as virtual system in multiboot and i really love it

Oh nice your Rom is better than mine ? It's Android 4 ?
I have not tested this ROM yet, so i can`t compare it.
Epy`s last nightly defy+ smoothy than others... I think this ROM also very fast, with no FC, no random reboot until now and i`ve noticed a better performance to play some games too (GTA3 with no lags LOL). Video bug still remains (Video works fine in defy bayer camera with Epyslon CM9 4.0.4 042812 MB525 nightly) but this doesn`t problem for me now, cause with MS2ginger4 i have video 720p record and panorama (thank`s to Walter79)...
ps: Sorry my "buggy" english!

Sorry I didn't see your message, what is the french for Stock Version please?
Today at morning i flashed cm9 Quarx`s nighty for defy+ (Video recorder works great. Only panorama not not working) The rom is very smooth and stable, with no reboot. So I dont need MS2ginger in multiboot anymore
Take a loook in the Quarx`s defy+ last nightly (Only if defy red lens or defypplus, off corse!)
Ps: CM9 nightylies works better with Defy red/Defy+ - 4.5.2-109_DHT-22 kernel than CM9 Kernel
Good luck!

Thats really amazing.. This phone is actually a weird piece.
Technically 'Codename Android' is incompatible to your defy+ and should give you bootloops. But here you are and its working.
Hello I have a Defy MB525 and I'd like to give it an upgrade and since there's no official Android releases above 2.2 I'm thinking about installing CM) which is 4.0 based right? I'd like to know how's the performance? does it become slower or how many bugs are? would you recommended it? thanks in advanced, it looks really good so I'd like to try it!
dear friend, trust me .you'd better use the CM9 latest by quarx's.Now we all taste the JB already
anyway the Quarx's CM series(CM7,CM9.CM10) are very perfect on Defy.
You must to try for it!:good:
for everyday rom, try cm9 by epsylon froyo kernel. I am using it and there's no issue or bug I have encountered (I use my defy as a phone).
What are the major differences between Quarx's and Epsylon ROMS? thanks you both for the info!:good:
there is no difference in both builds, afterall both are ics...
why don't you try both using multiboot and decide yourself.
I will give them a try, both releases can be found on Development section right? any link? thank you!
EDIT: Now that you mention it? how can I use multiboot? could I have stock rom and custom rom?

There is multiboot thread in development section, just go through it and you will find out how.
And yes you can have stock rom as base rom and custom rom as virtual rom as long as you have same kernel for both.( for mb525 its froyo kernel)
Btw the link for multiboot - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364659
Thanks! Do you have by any chance the links for CM9 by Quarx and Epsylon? thank you!

NOT RECOMMENDED. The performance you'd get from a ROM installed to your microSD (that's what multiboot does!) is inferior to having installed in the ROM partition of the phone.

Cm9 by epsylon - http://defy-cm.net/
And by quarx - http://quarx2k.ru/
I will skip the installation of MultiBoot for now, but I will try either Quarx's or Epsylon's ROM, thank you!!

If you want to install CM7 (.32) you need to downgrade to froyo but if you want (.35) you can install it over Aurora.
Sorry but can I ask why to revert back to froyo from Aurora?

That would not work.
Find official froyo
Unzip it and put into your sdcard like /dload/update.app
Close your phone.
Press vol+ vol- and power and keep until update screen.
After the successful froyo downgrade root it.
Copy cwm
Install cm7.
That simple.

I won't downgrade to Froyo, I just wan't to try CM7, and in CM7 install instructions downgrading to Froyo is mentioned, so I tought I will have to downgrade to Froyo and then install Cm7.

There are atleast three dev topics in the forum. One from genokolar and if i am not wrong there is a kernel dev for ezet's cm7.2 .32 by Paul*.
But... All of them are onhold or ended dev. And they all have bugs. So. What i am trying to say is if you want bug free cm7 then you should try ezet's .32

Sorry, for late answer...I didn't see any major differences...actualy I was more pleased with aurora, but I always got atleast 2 reboots a day on Aurora, so thah is the reason I tried CM7.
Now I have one more question...How do I get to stock GB now? I changed recovery.img when I was installing CM7, so do I need to change recovery.img to stock, and then "update" with official GB, or can I just directly "update" to official GB without changing recovery.img to stock before?
Thanks for your help

cm9 is stopped and cant find download link
cm10.1 is on progress....

Basically i need a stable one for max daily usage with max battery ... i use internet and games rarely
and whats this thread contains.. many ROM names and which one are for DEFY !!

CM9 is the best option for you. Go to uncledan's android mirror to get CM9
I'm using CM10 27/05 but it does have few bugs.
All the roms on that thread are for the Defy and Defy+.

Quarx' CM10 18/03 was pretty stable, no bugs at all for me. 27/05 is considerably faster though. I'd say CM10 is a safe bet as it's quite mature by now. Be aware that some of these builds are marked as experimental (the ones with the red colour)
I am using Quarx' CM10 17/2 with Blechdose 22/3 Jellyx kernel... It's very smooth and stable
thanks you all...(i mean it)
decided to try cm9 ...
downloaded the last one from http://defy-cm.net/defy-cm9-nightly/ (its Quarx)
flashed the OS , its gr8 for now. will update soon .
Going to install basebandswitcher 4.
and also battery calibration tool after a full recharge !!
inbetween one dbt ..im using a DEFY mb525 .(prev os was cm7.2). So my kernel will be a FROYO One . R8?
Should i install GB kernel for better performance ...?
cm9 of Quarx Vs cm9.1 of epsylon

Yes, there's not much of a difference. You don't need to install any kernel.
But in this thread it shows i need to flash kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618904
r8 now my phone shows kernel as 2.6.32.9-gb ....
got kernel-gb-234-451-134-signed.zip from http://defy.wdscript.fr/kernel/
Before that my Questions are
should i update the KERNEL .. its some threads its shown Kernal Update is necessary ...
