The music player is collecting the ID-Tag data. It doesn't matter in what folders the music is, you need to completely fill out the ID-Tag of the tracks.
Same with the cover artwork -it must be connected to the MP3, if it's just inside a folder it will not work.
I just bought the xperia x10 a while ago and started to listen music on it..
I download music on limewire and put them all on my 8GB micro sd...
Pop in the micro sd to my xperia x10, boot it, mediascape,... whats wrong?
Some of my songs shows up the wrong album art. and whats strange is that all the songs with the wrong album art HAS THE SAME WRONG ALBUM ART.
So its weird, for exemple:
I have for example on my phone:
Dj Nightlife : Display right album art
DJ Ravine: Display right album art
Akon: Displays DJ Ravine's album art instead of akon album art...
Lil wayne: displays dj ravine's album art instead of lil wayne album art
please help im getting pissed
thank you
I would try fining the album art on your SD and deleting in, make sure its the right stuff your deleting though and letting mediascape re scan it all. and make sure the mp3 files have thr right artist etc listing in their details [right click the mp3 file and properties, details tab]
What you need to do is to view the files in media go and manually fix the mp3 tags of each song, it sucks i know. But thats becouse the guy who created the mp3s was sloppy.

Well, from my understanding you are looking to have the correct album art for each song/album on your phone correct? This problem plagued me for a while, I couldn't find an easy way to automatically embed the album art into the id3 tags for songs on the computer... so I starting looking at apps for android. easiest way BY FAR is to buy the donate version of Cover Art Downloader. It will embed the album art into the mp3 file so you can copy em all to your pc and the album art will stick with it.
The free version of the app doesn't embed the art into the mp3's id3 tags but it will still work to show you the art on your phone if that's all you are wanting.
I also did album art grabber its because when i download them the description is not well filled out even if i change them whit mp3 tag it still mixed up

you don't have to format your sd card; probably wouldn't hurt.
You should take all your music off of your sd and consolidate into one music folder on your computer; Music-->Artist-->Albums and/or Songs-->Songs.
Throw it into either itunes for that what ever fixer finder thing it has, or better yet throw it into winamp as local media and go through song by song (you can select multiples) ctrl+e to open up up the file(s) to edit the metadata so you can format each/all the songs to uniform artist/albums/titles.
also for artwork you can select songs and press alt+3 and click on the Artwork tab and then download artwork there's also an auto-tag feature on the default tab (doesn't always work)
So i should grab winamp on my pc ? Ill try that and my musics are all into sdcard/music there isnt any other folders in it should i add ? Album>artist >songs?

Or you could use Mediamonkey to organize your library. =)
Or try the correct forum
When I transfer songs to my phone I cant find them, nor does the music player detect them. First I tried just copy and paste them to SD Card into Music folder. Then I used Media Go but the issue is still there. My phone doesnt recognize any new music, but the songs are on my memory card. Any ideas?
Try use a different media player?

Hello !
Just got the phone 3 days ago. Must say its amazing ! But i've got a problem. The music app doesn't display all the songs that are on the phone. I've moved the "filter" to 0 seconds, also moved my music on the internal storage and nothing. It does show a few songs but not all. The scan app finds all of them, but shows only a few.
What could be the problem ?
Cheers
Maybe you have a file .nomedia in ur music folder that skip showing the music files.
If you have it delete it.
