Does anyone know what I need to do to get album art to display in the Music Player ? I have tried placing image files in the same folder as the music and have tried naming them with the name of the Album and also with the name "Folder" all to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Rename the "Folder.jpg" to "hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg".
If you use itunes just drag an image into the album art box on the show info dialog box then copy the mp3 files to the phone. You can select all the songs in the album and do them at the same time. Don't use itunes' built in get album art feature, it doesn't work. I drag and dropped them from amazon.

Is "hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg" the folder I need to find in order to solve my problem detailed in the link below? If so, where can I find the damn thing to empty it?

Or use something like Media Monkey - Download Here. It's free and works for me.
I had a similar problem with my touch pro - ie i synced my music via windows media and the artwork never appeared. However, after inserting my memory card into the Touch HD, strangely all the artwork appeared! Not sure why it didnt show on the touch pro, but i guess its the same issue with the HD?

will it work if I place this folder in microsd?
I put directly album art in each mp3/aac file with mp3tag software (i do it in batch for album). I have no pb to see it in htc music player.

How do you use MM to put the album artwork in place though? I've taken my micro SD card, put it in my PC, added it to MM library and then a few tracks I've selected auto tag from Web. When it asks about album artwork I've selected to store it in the tag. The artwork shows in MM, but when I put it back in the HD it seems to have not worked

Been at this for hours today but so far this worked for me . . . .
I took the SD card out and put it into my PC via a micro reader - went to the 'My Music' folder on my SD Card. Made sure I was using MM from this point on. . .
Then I Right clicked on a track - chose 'properties' then went to the 'Album Art' tab - to check that the art has indeed gone there. I then went to my SD card - making sure that 'Hidden Folders' were displayed and deleted the 'once hidden' existing art files stored in the same folder as the MP3's. Shoved the SD card back into the HD and it worked ok.
My problem was that I had different art for the back and front artwork which was causing confusion both for me and the HD but I've learned that there is a lot more potential info stored on MP3 tags than I previously realised.
Nope, that doesn't work for me I still get the htc standard image.
When I put the memory card in the PC it could see the album art by the HD apparently can't?
Anyone else got any ideas?
How to get proper Album Art behaviour in TouchFLO 3D on Blackstone
So, just to make it even cleared:
Code:
SD CARD
--My Documents
----My Music
-------Artist
-----------Album
---------------Track 01.mp3/wma
---------------Track 02.mp3/wma
---------------Track 03.mp3/wma
---------------Track 04.mp3/wma
.
.
.
---------------hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg
hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg needs to be a 256x256 pixel image.
Do the same for other albums, there will be NO problem at all.
A good practise is to back up all your music from SD card to PC, delete everything music on SD card and recreate your music library from scratch, this time respecting what I outlined.
Cheers!
EDIT: Do not use embedded album art (i.e.: embedded pictures in tags) as it will only mess things up. Clean audio files with hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg file in album folder, together with the audio files.
EDIT 2: There are some Manila versions that use Folder.jpg as an album art reference. Other versions use ~htc_Albumname.jpg files. I've found this solution I described above to be the best solution.

Sorry mate but will post again if I come up with anything as some of the album art on my HD remains incorrectly associated with the respective MP3 and therefore needs further investigative work.
Perhaps someone more aware of the internal machinations of WM 6.1 & the Touch HD will be able to direct us to where the phone actually stores the info used by TouchFlo in relation to Album Art & MP3s.

You can find that info in Application Data\HTC\Audio Manager.
If you use my method and copy and organise files the way I described it (by simply copying them to device, via USB Storage Mode), there will be NO problems.
I have 50+ albums from 20+ artists and I keep changing the content, it updates on the fly, not a single glitch.
There is for sure a bug in the cover art of touchfow3d. It should use the embedded images in the MP3, but it does not. It will do that for only one file and all other files within that folder get the same cover art.
Of course you can work around this by grouping an artist/album in the same folder, the problem is that in my case I prefer the folder ordering done in time. It's of the 90's, 91's, 92's and so on.
Apparently the software thinks we all group our songs in albums so no need to scan the other files in that folder. Just reuse the same image found on the first MP3. I consider that a bug...
At present I don't store 'albums' on there, just individual tracks that I like, so this is a bit of a pain in the bum.
Setting up a folder for each track would be rather annoying...

Agreed - whole albums are something I store on my 80GB iPod not my phone.
However, as this is a 'bug' then it means I can stop trying to find a solution & just put up with naff album art being displayed alongside the MP3 being played. For me it's a minor issue on a phone that I am, overall, impressed with so far.

Even if you have singular files (rip from CD or whatever) and you update Album information from most players, they will regroup the in Artist\Album\Track order. Try to follow this.

OK - I couldn't resist and did exactly as you suggested. I did the following :
- created a folder in 'My Documents' on the SD card called 'My Music'
- for each track I created a folder named with the artists name
- inside the artists name folder I made another folder with the album name
- finally copied the track into the album folder
and all appears to be fine. I used Media Monkey to find and attach the album art to the MP3 and so far the correct album art is being displayed along with the correct track.
Thanks for the tips tnyynt - much appreciated & as all my other tracks (on my itunes/ipod) are already in the artist/album/track format then adding files will be a lot easier from now on - I just wont be able to drag and drop individual tracks into a single folder & expect the HD to organise itself.
What are the chances someone might find a 'fix' to this 'bug'? I really don't fancy all that messing about to be honest. Each time I have a few tracks I want to add, I have to be creating all those folders too
Does anyone know how to put album art on you're current mp3's?
I put it on in itunes and windows media player but it doesnt show up in my manilla music tab....
anyone know how 2 do this?
I also found where the art is located on my SD card, added a pic with a matching tittle to the artist and it didnt work
I've always used Mp3tag for that. It works great for tagging and album art (and it's free).
The WMP does that faster. And I also use MP3Tag for every mp3 file

all you have to do is pull the album art offline and name the album art file folder.jpg put it inside where your tracks are and it will show up inside your music player.
That won't work if he want's to put art on just one file. Do this.
- Put the album art trough Mindow Media Player, it's plain simple.
- Drag the image even from the browser on to the little box of the album art of the WMP viewer.
- Then open the selected file with MP3tag, go to options > tags > Mpeg and choose write ID3v2.3 UTF-16.
- Select file from the view and click save or ctrl+s. Done.
Works every time on mine.
i have a solution but it is a little boring.put your musics in separate folders.then copy the image u want to shown in manila.rename this image to hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg
after that duplicate this image and rename it to folder.jpg
So u have two image folder.jpg and hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg
soft reset your device and see the changes
this is how i made it work ...
I embedded in every mp3 file the cover art with mp3tag in ID3v2.3 UTF-16 format , then i opened media player and choosing my music folder as it's default library I've synced it with my phone. and ... voila ! the alb covers show perfectly in the music tab...
Basically windows media player made a folder for each album, and took the cover from the mp3 file...
It is very important that you check your id3 tags on your mp3's because if they have the same album name, they will be put in the same folder and thus have only one cover (even if you put separate covers for each file, because the were from different artists)..,
----------------------------
How to use mp3tag :
download, install and open
The click File > CHANGE DIRECTORY navigate to your music folder and select it
... click the ADD DIRECTORY if you like to add more folders (if they are on different partitions ...)
The music files will appear and when you click on every file , you will be able to view and edit it's tag in the left side of the screen.
You can embed a cover by right clicking on the square in the left side of the screen and choosing "ad cover" and then selecting your picture [that you have found using Google... etc...] or by simply drag-and-dropping the image on that square ...
after you verified that you wrote the album name correctly and set the album cover , simply click on the save icon on the top tool-bar .. and mp3tag will save your mp3 with your album art....
--------------------------------
although mp3 tag can look for your album art on line, the database that's being used by mp3tag is small and it didn't worked so well for me ...
after doing all my art embedding i installed ATUNES and it suggested a lot more covers than mp3tag, and a lot more information for the artist or album .. or track .... so .. i will probably use IT in the future ....

Just curious, is there a certain folder I need to place my music files in to play on my player? Everytime I go to music, it grabs all the files from notifications and my ringtones folders!! Is there a easier way to play my music?
Regarding Music...
Can anyone help me out??
Personally I don't use the stock music player for that very reason. Check out an app from the marketplace callled MixZing Lite (it's free.) It has the ability to monitor a specific folder for music and also comes with a pretty slick widget.
You can created a blank file called .nomedia (notice the dot at the front) in your ringtones folder which will stop the Media service (Gallery and Music) from searching in there for files. I have not tested if this will break ringtone searching, so give it a go and just delete your new .nomedia file if all your stuff disappears from ringtones.
You also may be interested to know if you call your album covers AlbumArt.jpg then they will appear in music player when a song from that album is playing, but Gallery will not index them and take a thousand years to load cos of all the covers called different names in different folders.
I tranfered some music folders from my computer to my SD card and now I have Album Cover Art in my Gallery how do I fix
Best
BoogieTilt
google "android .nomedia" and read the guides from there
I used ".nomedia" and it works like a charm.
It's possible the music folders had image files in them along with the music. Depending on what you use to play your music on the computer, the image files could very well hidden files on your computer.
For example, Windows Media Player does this when it looks up song info to fill out the ID3 tag info in a file.
Although I'm not sure if a Windows file attribute of hidden would affect how it displays on Android.
Make sure your album art is in the same folder as the music relating to it and rename it 'albumart' (it has to be a jpg file). That way the gallery will ignore it.
Easier way to prevent this issue would be to not have album art in the music folder, or simply save the art to the ID3 tag. Album art info should be in the MP3 file itself if your did that.
Otherwise, what C.Slater said works best or use the .nomedia trick (which is still annoying to do).
Some players wont display embedded art.
Had the same problem, just deleted all the music album art jpgs from the sd card and that fixed it. Album art is stored in the files themselves it seems so they are not needed.
My old touch pro 2 stored album art in jpgs so that's where the problem came from.

Download music player "3" by Filipe Abranters.
Search MARKET place with words "RockON" and select "3".
Best music player there is, and it can download art and other stuff for free and quick as hell.
And it's great widget to.
And you'll never have to worry about art albums !
Hi, my vibrant is mainly used for an mp3 player...In music player..I keep seeing EVERY mp3 i have on the phone..I have my music/podcast mp3s, plus my ring tones...is there a way to not have my ring tones (located btw in their OWN directory on the phone [under "[rings] ] keep showing up in my music player??..also I have a lot of podcasts loaded..(again as for everything in their own dedicated directory on the phone (under media/audio)...to be exact...podcasts are under T-Man... (these files have no ID3 tags, so they show up as UNKNOWN...fine...but why can't I change this directory's name and add a thumbnail pic? next I have mixshow mp3's by diff dj's...all in their respective folders.. as an example..1 dj's mp3's I added album art through winamp and saved the id3, copied to phone....nothing...still shows a stock music player img...what am I doing wrong? help me out please ...
PS. Tried Player Pro, which somehow added thumbs to some of my podcasts/mixshows..which had nothing to do with the content...deleted the app, thumbs remained...
Find the folder that's giving you the mp3 and add a dot a the begining, example .test that way the music player won't look in the there to get music
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
in each folder that is showing up in your music folder add a file .nomedia ...the music player will not scan that folder for music
as far as album art try a app called album art grabber...it's free in the market
