I want to unlock my Rogers i747M S3 device and was looking at a site called CanadaGSM. They are advertising on what I thought was a fairly reputable site but can't seem to find anyone who successfully used them to unlock your phone. Does anyone have any experience with these guys for unlocking the new S3?

I looked around pretty hard and found nothing. The only way I came up with was either a method for the note 2I think and the galaxy s3. From what I understand there is no simple way like the S3 at all which is unfortunate but also quite predictable. I'm surprised that there was for the SGS3 at all but not surprised no one has found one for the note.
I personally used www.cellunlocker.net and they were great, I had my u unlock code within about two minutes of paying, Ann it worked with no hassles. Highly t recommend them myself, and I got their name from others on this board who have used them with great results.
Im not sure if sim unlocking contributes to region unlocking. If the device is clearly region locked. I think it is best to contact samsung to resolve that. With anything regarding sim unlocking i can agree with the above user.
But i do wonder if there is any other free unlocking methods like the s3 note2 and s4. It seems the region unlock app made and released on the playstore also has the possibility of sim unlocking. According to the dev. Not sure.
Mines already unlocked but it could help my friends who are trying to find free unlocks not willing to spend money

Hello,
I have read the sprint samsung unlock thread DIY and also some other threads for flashing ROMs etc
Instead of trying to do this myself is it possible to unlock a phone that I recently purchased off CL by calling a service/purchasing a code from a website?
Is there a certain service that is more reputable than others?
I would normally unlock a device myself but this one seems more difficult than normal, with people as recent as today "softbricking" their phones.
Thanks,
aga080
No, so do it yourself or buy an already locked phone.

It depends on which model (L720 or L720T) and where you are located. There is not "code" unlock on these, but a competent mobile phone tech in your area should be able to do it for about the market rate to do a traditional Samsung late model smartphone "code" unlock (30-45 bucks).
Hi XDA,
I'm pretty new here and I hope that this is the right section for this. Keeping it short, I'm going to receive a brand new Galaxy S8 from Europe, but it's going to be locked on T-Mobile Germany, since this is where I'm getting from.
As far as I know, I will be able to use it here, on AT&T, but only after unlocking it. And here comes my question: how can I do this? I know about flashing firmware or something like that, but, honestly, I'm not such a tech savvy person. Is there such thing as an easier method?
Thanks in advance,
George
You need to pay for an unlock code, cheapest ones are usually on ebay.

I don't know if TMOBILE GERMANY works the same way as they do here in the US - but there are guidelines for when yoiu get a phone unlocked by teh carrier - and they have started using an AP that makes it impossible to use an UNLOCKED CODE to unlock the device. I found this ouit with the S6 when I purchased it (and the Note 5)
Their rules are pretty strict here in the US - you have to own the phone and be on service for 44 days before they will release the phone to be unlocked - unless you have been with TMOBILE for moe than a year in which case they will give allow you to unlock immediately.
Now that is here in the US and I am not sure if they do the same thing with TMOBILE Germany. BUT I would definitely look into it before you buy it.
You might consider buying a G950F and just use that - it is already unlocked and will work fine on ATT.
whatever you do - good luck.
I'm wondering if anyone has had any success unlocking a Rogers Note 4 N910W8 phone for free.
If so, could you please provide detailed instructions or point me in the right direction where I can find it?
I've been searching for some time and really haven't come across anything I could trust.
Thanx in advance
I would also like to know if anyone has bee able to do this. It's a 3-4 year old phone, so maybe some free methods to get the unlock codes have been released online?
These phones still have some life if them and it would be a shame to have to throw them out because of the damn carrier lock...
the carrier won't do it for free even after the new law passed?
This is the most reliable service I've ever used, both with an older Samsung and a cheap HTC: https://unlock.canadagsm.ca/samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-4-network-code/ It's not free but the code works and it's only a one-time cost. If I were you, I'd much rather pay once for a reliable code than risk it with some shady method.
Hello,
I would like some help regarding unlocking a Sprint Galaxy S8. Sprint will not unlock the phone for me so I have to do it through a third party. I've been reading a couple forums but I am a little bit confused. When I go to third party websites they will send me an unlock code, I have to insert the other sim and then I have to enter the code. But I've also read some threads about an unlocking app or that you have to install something, I'm not sure. I was hoping someone could clarify this for me and help me out.
Thanks in advance.
you would have to use a third party website, I recently unlocked my sprint galaxy s8 with the octopus box since I ordered one. just be careful with which site you are going to use to get the unlocking service.
