Are you able to get in to Recovery from the FFF screen (the yellow triangle)?
If so, then mount your sdcard from recovery and start by adding the new version of FFF 1.4a and also, if you haven't, install the new version of TWRP.
It's up to you, but you may need to get a new rom. Your old one may have reached it's limit and is now falling behind to keep up with newer apps. This is a theory though, so you could always try just reinstalling your old rom and see what happens.

I had this exact same issue and through much trial and error I figured out that without certain files in-place the Kindle Fire gets stuck in a loop. I was able to remedy this by first completely charging the unit to 100%, i.e. the light stayed green when plugged in. Once that was completed I still could not get my Windows 7 PC to recognize the Fire was connected. Even though I could hear Windows stating a USB device was connected it still did not show up in device manager or ADB. Having multiple computers/operating systems helped me in this case as I was able to connect my fire to my mac and thru ADB reflashed and restored from backup my original Fire rom. Once I was able to reimage using 'dd' I then booted into Amazon's interface and performed a restore to factory settings and created a new backup with the blank Amazon interface. From there I reimaged using Jelly Bean and everything's been pretty smooth since.
It is also imperative that you update your Android SDK to the latest (if possible) and then ensure that your adb_usb.ini (located in your home dir under .android) and your android_winusb.inf (located in Android/android-sdk/extra/google/usb-driver) have the correct settings.
adb_usb.ini should contain a single line with "0x1949"
android_winusb.inf needs to contain the following entries in both the [Google.NTx86] and [Google.NTamd64] sections:
;Kindle Fire
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006&MI_01
The best recommendation I can give is to try another computer/OS and make sure the drivers are setup correctly. Good Luck!

Hello, brand new to the Kindle. I rooted my device just fine last night and decided to use Kindle Fire Utility to install TWRP. ADB was recognizing the device perfectly and the script seemed to be running fine until it rebooted the Kindle. At that point the script said "reboot: operation not permitted waiting for device" for an extended period of time. After waiting awhile, at this point I did something I probably shouldn't have, I unplugged the Kindle and rebooted it using the power button. It's been getting stuck at the "kindle fire" boot animation ever since. I haven't gotten a screen with a triangle and fire logo.
I tried following the instructions in the sticky but it seems adb no longer recognizes the device, so I can't push zergRush or anything past that.
Is it permanently bricked or is there a method to fix my problem yet?
Thanks for any help.
_______________________
Update: kindle was fixed by uninstalling drivers, reinstalling as android composite usb device, and switching it out of fastboot. not permanently bricked.
sounds like its in fast boot.
open the utility again, check if its in fast boot, if it is run the install command again. if u can't get it installed, use utility to change boot mode back to 4000.
I had the same problem this method worked for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20509949&postcount=245 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20421225&postcount=222
Thanks for the fast replies!
When I try to change the bootmode using the fastboot it just says waiting for device and never progresses. KindleFireUtility shows ADB Online, Boot status at 4002, and fastboot as offline. Device manager doesn't show a Kindle, just an android adb interface with a yellow ! triangle.
I did restart the PC once and the kindle a few times. No luck yet.
I installed the ADB Composite driver again for the device and got this error (attached)
I had the same issue. It turned out that I had forgotten to update my computer with the drivers needed for TWRP install after copying them to the Android and .Android folders. I was able to get to the first reboot.. waiting for device and then checked device manager when it wouldn't progress. I found that the the driver was unrecognized. After updating the drivers in device manager, TWRP completed install successfully and I was able to backup my FW6.2 and then flash CM7.
uninstall the driverand use the driverin the utility thread? someone said leaving ur kindle connected to ur pc and rebooting ur pc will reboot the kindle? if it works su with terminal and change bootmode back to 4000
sent from my kindle fire
Alright everyone, I got it working after uninstalling the driver for the Android device, shutting down, starting up again, and plugging in and reinstalling the driver, then changing the bootmode using the instructions previously posted. Thank you all SO MUCH for helping as much as you could. Now to try this again!

Now I'm wondering what you mean by making sure the drivers are installed for TWRP to install correctly. Obviously I missed a step the first time, what do I do to make sure I don't miss it again? Right now when I try to install TWRP again it says "The system cannot find the filepath specified" several times.
would recomend to use following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
download the utility and prepare according:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20574755#post20574755
change bootmode, install twrp or whatever with the utility
Got twrp on it last night successfully and flashed CM7.
My question is somewhat related to this thread...
I'm on 6.2 (wifi turned off) and was already rooted and am trying to update to the 6.2.1 secured update with root installed update found on XDA. I'm using Kindle Fire Utility v.6, and to the best of my knowledge using the drivers included with the KF Utility program.
In the utility I show...
ADB Status: Online
Boot Status: 4000
Fastboot Status: Offline
Question is I'm not familiar with fastboot and unclear if I have everything configured in order to (safely) install TWRP. In a command prompt when I type 'fastboot devices' nothing is displayed ("adb devices" shows the device). Combined with the fact I've never seen anything but "Offline" for the Fastboot Status, I'm a little concerned I'm missing a piece of the puzzle and hesitant to install TWRP until I know better.
Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
look at my post on page 1 of this thread !
@Stevebro: I believe if you are using KF Utility v.6, then you should be good to go. As long as you installed and updated the usb Drivers and then ran zergRush, you should be at the point where you can install TWRP. Just make sure you are using the latest version of KF Utility and it should go pretty smoothly.
... After you install TWRP, I'd recommend going back to your KF OS and do a Titanium Backup of your apps and then doing a TWRP backup. When you flash to CM7 you can restore all your apps easily and painlessly using Titanium backup to restore with the Batch restore option.
Couple nervous moments, reboots and switching out of fastboot mode in the utility... but it all went well. Thanks for the help!!
glad to hear everything is fine ...
Glad to hear everything worked out. I myself sat staring at the "yellow triangle" for a couple of hours. lol, but I just kept working through it and tried not to panic and I got everything working again.
I think OP should edit the first post, or get a mod to edit the title. I keep reading random posts about "lot's of people permanently bricking their Kindle Fires" while I cannot recall a single instance of someone bricking and having to return one and it is getting tiresome.
My kindle fire stuck at yellow triangle while Flash Custom Recovery (TWRP).
Kindle fire can not found in device manager.
In device manager show USB device but I cann't install driver.
Please help me to solve this problem.
were you flashing with KFU? Try using v0.9.1 rather than 0.9.3
from the op of kfu:
Known Tricks
•If you end up stuck at the yellow triangle, in KF Utility select Boot Normal, wait for it to say <waiting for device> and then press and hold the power button 20 seconds until the fire turns off, then when its off turn it back on. This sometimes happens, I have yet to find a clean solution
•If you end up stuck with a yellow triangle, do not EVER unplug it. Leave it plugged in. Check the windows drivers to make sure it isnt showing as "kindle" again. Fastboot is different and can cause this.

Hey guys, normally I would research this good, but I'm in a bit of a time crunch. So, if I unplugged it, I need to follow the directions linked above (uninstalling drivers / reinstalling drivers)?
This kindle belongs to my nephew and I've had it for almost two weeks, I would like to return it to him soon.

Help! For Christmas my parents bought me a Kindle Fire but before I got it, they gave it to my sisters boyfriend who is a techy kind of guy and he put twrp and hacked the kindle. Well the other day I was trying to download something and it rebooted and went straight to the TWRP gray screen (the one with the options to install, backup, restore, wipe, etc.) I do not know what to do! I have searched through threads on the forum about using the kindle fire utility, it doesnt work. My computer recognizes the kindle as an android phone and when i run the utility, it says my boot status is unknown so i dont think that the program is detecting my kindle? Please help!
Are you having trouble getting out of TWRP, or what?
Just click on Reboot --> System and that should get you back into the normal system.
You may also want to check into this if you have further problems:

I have tried the link that you have given me before and it didnt work as well. I've also tried the reboot -> system and the other option given. Neither of them work. My problem is, whenever i start up my Kindle, it goes straight to that screen after the yellow triangle screen. Any help?

I'm assuming you accidentally hit "reboot into recovery. If you are not a "techy" guy, you need to get in that mode and follow the link dude provided. You will need to download a couple programs to your pc, and acquire a microusb cable. Follow directions to the TEE' and you'll be ready to go in no time.

kfu is just good for what you need - regardless what status it reports try option1 and bootmode normal
if it does not work check your drivers - in device manager it should show up under android phones - if not update the driver - try to run install_drivers.bat in the kfu directory first - if it does'nt work try to update manually - it is in the drivers\kindle directory of kfu
regarding drivers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22342376&postcount=6
then retry kfu option 1 bootmode normal
Okay so i remembered using winRAR you need to extract the folder and I did and the kfu is working properly now except for one thing, it says the ABD status is offline... i dont know what to do about this
the adb status is offline - this is normal when the kf is in fastboot mode
normal boot -> adb commands YES -> fastboot commands NO
fastboot -> adb commands NO -> fastboot commands YES
recovery -> adb commands YES -> fastboot commands NO
Sorry but i'm confused on what youre telling me to do :/
- run kfu
- select option 1 (bootmode menu)
- select option 1 (bootmode normal)
that's it
Thank you a million! I just realized that i was typing in "4000" instead of "1" and it wasnt recognizing the command!
glad to help ...

Okay 1 last thing and im really sorry for putting you through all this... when its booting up, it gets past the black screen with the yellow triangle but after that the screen is just black, its not shutoff because i can see that the backlight is on... Is this a problem thats fixable?> :/
hold the power button for ~20sec till it turns off - power on again
Did like you told me to... Got past the yellow triangle fire fire fire screen and just sits there with the backlight on...
what did you try to install ? it seems the kf can't boot into a system ...
and as you asked earlier - everything (besides hardware failures) is fixable
but a hardware failure seems not to be your problem
I cant exactly remember but i remember it downloaded and then the kindle randomly shut off and when i turned it back on it just went straight to the recovery... ive tried resetting the kindle several times right now and even going back into the recovery mode and nothing is working :/ i believe the problem has gotten worse
you can install a new rom now - which one did you have before ?
i can give you the download location and how it is done ...
Like i mentioned before, i didnt set it up. I cant tell you what rom was downloaded but i do remember some programs that ive seen before in guides?? There were like the golauncher and other "go" programs... if that doesnt stand out to any specific one i believe there were some cryogen (or however its spelled) stuff on it... i know it was set up just like his verizon phone
then i would think it it was cm7 - download from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?hmdc0lmgvnlbg97
this is the update version - i would try this one first so you should not loose anything
- boot into twrp
- now you should see the kf on your computer
- copy the downloaded file on the kf
- tap install
- select the file and install
try this first
Okay thank you. Is it okay if i PM you if something goes wrong? You seem to know alot about this
So, I rooted my device, and I flashed CM7, and everything worked fine.
after running for awhile my device just went black. So when after about 15 mins, it went to the Fire triangle logo and is now stuck in this logo.
I searched and found problems like this but when I plug in my device, my computer wont recognize it...
so am i screwed? - Again, I've searched and tried many of the steps advised...
What did you use to obtain root? Do you have the KF Utilities downloaded and on your computer?
If not, here is a link: (Vashypooh gets ALL the credit)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
Mine got stuck on the triangle as well and I thought I was screwed, but more than likely you're just stuck in fastboot.
What I did was use the KFU and even though it didn't show as recognized I was able to use Option 1 - Bootmode Menu, Then Option 1 - Normal.
My Fire restarted normally after that.
Don't know if it will fix it for you, but it's worth a shot huh?
Thank you sir. After reading that I got to reboot correctly by turning it off plugging it in, and turning it off and on three times and tried the unbrick utility again and it went through. Thank you.
Glad you got it to work. Now you can get on to the fun parts.
Also for some people this might work. I unbricked my kindle. Here is how I did it
1.Download kindle fire utility
2.Unzip kindle fire utility
3.To install the driver, its easy, just plug in your kindle, when it pops up with the install wizard say pick from the location of: KindleFireUtility>drivers>kindle 4.run kindle fire utility, select 1 then select 1 again
That's it, hope it helps someone like me
I installed the drivers and connect and got KFU to report online and status of 4000, I chose to root and it rebooted the Fire and then got stuck on the White Orange Fire logo and the computer did not see it again.
What I ended up having to do is run the driver installer again! While the fire was in fastboot mode and KFU was still waiting on device and the root install proceeded normally.
No where i have seen has this been said so i figured id give a heads up if it will help someone else out if yours gets stuck on unknown.
This happened on two separate Fire's on two different systems and wasn't required by a third.
I had the same issue when I rooted my kindle. I waited awhile to see if i was just being impatient, then restarted, waited some more etc. plugging it in and running kfu again did the trick. I rooted the thing the day I got it so I wasn't sure what the deal was but it was an easy fix.
On a related note the kindle forums have more 'help I'm bricked!!!' Threads than any other device I follow. I am not sure why b/c it also has some of the most helpful and thorough guides I have ever read.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
when the dos screen shows waiting for device, do not unplug the cable and do not turn the dos screen, you should hold the power button to turn off, and then pressthe button again, when the pc ask for driver again you can install the old one... voila, it's ok
