[Q] Shipping Nexus 7 to an USA Postal Box - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I Need some help. I PreOrdered a Nexus 7 from Google, but it seems they changed their shipping policies and cancelled my order.
I am outside the US, paying with either PayPal or an international Mastercard (the billing of the card is here, Guayaquil Ecuador), and shipping it to a Postal Box my uncle has in Miami.
I want to get the 16 GB model at the regular price. I Need the device ASAP, i'm going to use it for a couple projects i am doing next month.
Anyone knows where i can order it?
Thanks! :good:

Assuming it does get sent to the postal box (we know it won't), who will be picking it up from the box? If it's going to be your uncle, why not get it sent directly to your uncle's home address instead?

Because the postal box is managed by a company that ships the stuff to my house.
I See BH Photo and Video does send the Tab to Postal Boxes. New company for me.. anyone has any comment/review about them?
PD: Amazon and Ebay do send to Postal Boxes.. i have bought my HTC Sensation and many stuff like that. This is the first time this happens :crying:

Have you tried ordering from Gamestop or other retailers? I'm not from America so I don't know if Gamestop does postal orders, but it's a genuine suggestion.

Yes, they don't ship to PoBox

I think (from what i remember) only USPS allows shipping to PO boxes. FedEx, UPS, DHL do not deliver to PO Boxes.

I brought a digital camera like 7 years ago from BH photo and video and I had no issues with them.

B&H is well respected. You need someone that will ship using usps or using UPS2USPS

Getting a Nexus S from overseas

What methods are people from overseas using to get the Nexus S? I used a mail forwarder to get my Nexus One but that was made a bit easier because Google's online store accepted overseas credit cards. Unfortunately Best Buy only accepts US credit cards.
I was just going to use the "Buy it for me" service that some mail forwarders offer but just wanted to check if anyone on here had another trick up their sleeves.
I'm using mobicity.com.au
prices are alright (not great) but they will get it to you.

But there's no statement, when NS will be available there. Right now you can just pre-order.

Best Buy isn't shipping to any "known" freight-forwarders.
From the mobicity website
The Nexus S is released by Google in the US on the 16th of November. Given this is just before Christmas we expect to start shipping late December/early January.

Use NYBox.com for Nexus S orders
I recommend nybox.com they have Buy For Me service. They buy Nexus S from Best Buy and ship to you worldwide. They charge 15% buy for me fee. Great service, i used them for my Nexus One last year.
I have just placed buy for me request for Nexus S from them.
i go tit right from Bestbuy.com
THeres a generic address you put in ur billing address if ur using international card (its in the help, a Texas address)
then I put in the shipping address of a mail forwarder (shipito.com)
all good!

[Q] Is this a scam?

I found yesterday on ebay a canadian seller who had an auction for a Samsung Galaxy S2 new unlocked international version.
So I did the usual send a message if he could end the auction for 280+Shipping
because that's what I have in hand.
This was the messages:
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Me: Hi I would like to buy your phone I have 280+Shipping
Seller: Hi there, yes i can do a buy it now for 280+20 shipping to Honduras. Send me your paypal email and i can send you the invoice that you can pay and i will ship out asap. thanks
Me: my paypal address is ***********@*****.net
Seller: Just sent you the invoice for 300. Please let me know when you have paid and confirm your address. thanks
Me: Hey I saw you didn't ended the auction and it got sold for 432!
Seller: No i have 2 phones that i am selling. You can still pay the invoice i sent you. I will still sell you the phone for the agreed price
So then I received a paypal invoice of 300$
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
So do you think this guy is a scammer or not? Seller has 5 feedbacks and he is canadian, should I send the money? Would I be protected by paypal?
Item is going to be shipped to Honduras.
What do you say should I go on and buy it or not.
If it's an invoice you should be good, file a dispute if you don't get it

Lol, if you had a phone that just sold for 400 plus why would you sell another one for more than 100 less?

Never ever deal with an ebay seller through email. Your purchase will NOT be protected and the guy knows this. Keep that $280 man!!

he send you invoice, you pay it, you dont get item, you dispute gg
There is nothing special about buying it with ebay really, if anything ebay screws over the seller! They charge so much in seller fees (in my opinion). I would just make sure the invoice is legit as I have gotten fake invoices before.

I just sold something on eBay for 400 and the fees were over 65.00 and if you have less than 25 sales they hold the money for 21 days or 3 days after its delivered with a tracking number. eBay sucks to sell stuff now. So its not really 100 less than his last sale.

you must also check whether the device is in perfect condition !!
also the seller may bluff you by not sending the desired item or he may send anything else even a cheap clone or something !!
pls confirm via pics or video and then go for the transaction !!
you could even ask him to create another auction on ebay with a buy it now price that you agreed to and have him send you the link.

A seller did that for me for an item that he accepted my offer on. It worked very well.
280 no way! The phone is worth around $600.

I believe seller can create a private sale through ebay to buyer and ebay will give you buyer protection.

[Q] Who want to pre-order from a non-available country?

I'm suffering, because i cant pre-order this "i think" awesome product..
who else is feeling the same.
Hopefully other retailers will sell these to the countries Google has over looked.
I doubt that there will be many for sale at reasonable prices on Ebay when they first come out.
I'm waiting for this type of tablet, why is the world so divided
Well count me in...
I was watching I/O and as they showed it I got more and more excited. Then they said where it will be available and I wanted to cry :banghead:

I want to order nexus 7 but in my country it is not available.
The retail market will sold it much more that the google's price... I think about 300 Euro or more. Will live and see...
Well in my case i used tor to access USA Play and change my shipping address to a mailbox on miami.
I preordered from Norway using my mastercard and an american shipping address that acts as a forwarding address to my Norwegian address. Jetcarrier.com. Ads around 25$.

Did you use a norwegian credit card or how did you get a us-one? I heard only cards issued in US, UK and Canada would be accepted.
Thanks
Tried different cards and Visa was not accepted, maybe because Mastercard is a Google Wallet Partner? Dunno, maybe it was just a glitch. Lets see if anyone else manages to order from an illegal location with a local card.
Well tried to preorder but got the unconfortable message stating that the device is not available in my country and that they are doing their "best" to make it possible as soon as they can. Which is I am guessing by the end of the year for 100 euros more in retail store. I'd really like to have the same price and treatment by buying directly from the play store but no official details on that either... That's complete bs. Why make such a global product so restricted for so many areas. my money ain't green enough I guess.
PS: apparently there are no official confirmations for a launch in Europe yet...
i really don't like that. i planned to instantly order one, because i waited so long for a 7inch tablet that's worth the money.
i'm pissed.
EDIT: probably we find some nice guys here at XDA who can buy and send us those awsome tabs? XDA Marketplace ftw?

How? Can you please describe it a bit more detailed? I'm from Austria too and want one.
What were the costs for the shipping and the service?
What will you have to pay in total?

I made an account at Borderlinx, they give you an US-Adress where google will send the device first, then they send it to you. I have to pay 280$ to google, and about 370 total, thats about 300 Euro which is not cheap but ok i guess.
@salv-ice
Yes i used Hotspot Shield.

I guess, but strangely they didnt accept my credit card there.:silly:
For info, I just read on a french tech news site that Asus will distribute the Nexus 7 through it's own network (but no date announced yet) !
So we should find it in stores outside US / UK

Possible free nexus 7??

Hi all
I cancelled my Google order last week before shipment due to getting one of the emails saying it was delayed. I bought from pc world here in the UK in the end.
On Sunday I got an email saying my tablet has been shipped. I checked the tnt ref today and apprantly my Gardner has signed for it today while I was at work. I dont have a Gardner!
At the time of canceling my order i removed my c/card details from wallet to ensure the order was not shipped. I checked my balance as of last night and they have not debited the money. I checked with my bank and they have pre authorised the funds but not taken it.
How quick was your money taken compared to delivery?
Just wondering if somehow I have managed to get a free nexus 7 from Google?

Once you click GO on a purchase a contract is formed between the card issuer and the retailer.
The funds are booked and the item is then shipped. Once the item is shipped the funds are released to the retailer.
If the gardener has signed for it they have a free Nexus and you have to prove you're not a gardener and don't employ one.
if you can prove that then liability is with the carrier and your card issuer is responsible for the refund.
Neighbor with the last name gardener? Call Sherlock
In the US they have typically been charging on shipping day, mistakes aside...

Duty and Tax bill notification

Did anyone get a duty and tax bill notification statement from FedEx as a result of buying this phone from the UK? The total invoice says $0 but they want you to fax the form back to them.

Not here. Mine came DHL from Clove though. No FedEx and no duty/tax bill.

Yes, however, it may not be here in the states. I have heard conflicting opinons, one says it has to be sent back to the UK, another says that Sony US will cover it .... YMMV
anybody got international warranty card or something ??
which specifies the list of countries supported ?
I just received one from FedEx. Apparently, I don't owe anything, but sent me a record to keep.
