Hands down, best Android phone I've ever had! It's better than I expected
The s3 is the first phone that I have not rushed to root and rom. I see no problems with it stock or any lack of features. I'm sure I will root sooner or later but this phone is seriously the top android phone released to date.

Yes, this is the first phone that I've been pleased with performance out of the box, and I even, dare I say it, LIKE TOUCHWIZ! I did root it, but only to use adfree, lol, that's the silliest reason I've ever rooted a phone for, but Samsungs are so easy to return to stock & T mobile never checks the binary flash counyso I'm not worried. I hate ads that are in apps! When we do get an AOSP rom ill flash then, but as crazy as it sounds, it better be as fast as touchwiz or ill be going back to stock, haha. Samsung hit the nail on the head with this one, and touchwiz has alot of convenient features in it. Imagine if they would've rolled it out with vanilla android, and the added motion control, and other Samsung apps that are pretty cool? If samsung makes this year's nexus, it's gonna be off the hook with hardware like this!
Worked like a charm.
I picked up my Verizon pre-order today and am super happy with it. It's a great upgrade over my old Epic 4G (and the bump from wimax to lte speeds is worth the extra monthly cost of the carrier switch)
I've always purchased the galaxy series year after year, and this time Samsung has delivered with stock performance! Though I also like the new touchwiz, it's more "complete" than other launchers

Do you think the devs will be able to bring some of these features to the vibrant/I9000?
Looks like its using the accelerometer. It could happen if we have a touchwiz 4 port.

That and to continue my flashing addiction.
Yea it sure would be nice to skip the cell phone store and just come here to update my "outdated" phone.

I think that is the gyro, and from what i have seen online, vibrant also has it, and it should be enabled when we get gingerbread.

Gingerbread has had about 8 leaks for the Epic.
But it's still not official.
I'm not worried about updates if AOSP is going to support it.
I hear you, but the developers will most likely be a key factor. Aosp runs great, but is too bland foyer my taste...even with a third party launcher.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I think given the rumors of a 4.5 inch screen and 720p resolution, I'd rather wait for news of the Nexus Prime.
If for some reason it doesn't come out on Sprint right away, the SG2 would also be a worthy upgrade.

Hopefully your right but seeing the support the epic gets in comparison to the other galaxy s phones I would wait and see myself. The one thing I hated about my epic was touchwiz and there aren't any alternative roms that have it taken out. But I do have to say the gsll looks pretty awesome.

Hi everyone,
I only pop in from time to time to check on Vibrant development for someone else. It's only been a few months but last time I left, the CM7 roms weren't fully working. Now there seems to be 100% complete ICS roms.
That's great new for everyone. I'm just curious what was the break though that helped? Samsung released more source code? Inside leak of a in house ICS build?
SgsII and.nexus s icses helped i think.. theres also.a.leak for another gsI i think...

ICS Passion started us off. Neobuddy used the source from Nexus S (ithink) and built a ALPHA>BETA>STABLE ROM, after which more ROMS started showing up but they were pretty much Passion. Then CM9 showed up. AOKP showed up. Now we actually have a diversity of ROMS to choose rom.
This phone is great, thanks devs.
Its amazing, here we were waiting for a decent GB rom to come around and before you know it, ICS Roms as stable and good as froyo start popping up. Seems very few phones have ICS roms this good.

Not professional.
In gingerbread there was Music player.

NOT big issues but finishing touch and overall quality is poor.
I would like to see feature updates available as a paid premium from the Samsung Apps store.
We have gotten our money's worth. Granted the Note N7000 should get 4.2.2 before the final chop on support, but beyond that, updating touchwiz, s-pen features and other Samsung exclusives could be easily done with a paid app update.
Remember how with Windows mobile 4 phones had a paid upgrade to 5? Maybe nothing so extreme as to be charged for an upgrade within the first two years of its release, but afterwards, to keep the phone fresh and new, I would gladly part with my hard earned cash.

you know why? Cause Sammy was just making a dirty port of Note2-JB to our Note 1...they were not interested in doing it properly just for the 'old' Note...
So these features will never come to Note 1 officially - they are just leftovers...
