- i tried to solder it back ... tried it one twice thired time ... NOTHING! :crying:
- well im wondering if there is another way of charching my phone ?
- I LOVE MY HD2 ... Please help him to feel better!
take any type usb lead, cut end off, bare red and black wires, hold red to + and black to - on teh phone (look carefully, theyre marked) plug into wall charger for a while - battery has charge. not good to leave it like that for too long, though, so you probably want to look into an external charger.
ill try it ... =)
are there any wireless external chargers ?
i think there are some yea, have a root around in the accessories section, and ebay.
keep an eye on the battery, if it gets warm AT ALL you probably wanna stop charging for a bit.
I DID IT! =)))))))
ITS ALIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nice hack, and it keeps the charge control circuits working too, so no danger of frying the battery.
In case it does give you problems again in the future I would take a look at this. Its a external charger that has already been suggested. I have the same one and it has worked great for me. I ended up
buying this one that came with two extra batteries so when I leave my house there is always a battery charging and ready for me when I get home. Plus you cant beat the price of under 9 (usd) bucks.
maybe i will .... for now its working fine =)
Could you please give more information on exactly did you do? I have the same problem (USB not working) and I was wondering how can I use the back charging terminal. Thank you!

ok, on my xda mini s, if i plug the charger in at 2% to 99% it charges fine
but, i let the battery go so dead that it wont charge. so i bought another one and it did the same
is there a software fix for this? can i charge the batteries another way? both are only 6 weeks old and charge fine in my mates mini s (one of the first ones) mine is only 6 weeks old
its now getting very annoying
thanks
What are you running? G3 or G4, IPL/SPL, ROM version??
hi mate
ipl 2.21.001
spl 2.21.001
gsm 0.2.07.10
os 2.21.4.1
so just to clarify, I think there needs to be a tiny amount of power the the device to power it enough to recognise the charger is plugged in
i have 2 batteries with 0% energy - none will charge. The 3rd battery charges fine if more then 1% is left before I stick the charger in
thanks
Actually my boss had the same problem with his 8125. He was running wi-fi & music and it killed the battery all the way dead. I don't think there's a fix. He had to buy a new battery.

Looks like mfrazzz has the answer!
wow, ok i am a nuby and you might not like the solution but, every time my battery runs out completely and i cant charge it, disconnect the charger trust me on this one, lick the top of the charger connect it back and at first it will show a red light leave it there for about 4 minutes, then disconnect it and connect it back and your battery will start chargin again. trust me on this one ive done it like 4 times.

Dude!! I just have to ask...
HOW DID YOU FIGURE THAT OUT??? I mean, where you just sitting around thinking... Hmmm... I think I'll lick the top and stick it in.. hummm... I guess I'll leave it in for about 2 min... no... 3 min... oooo I think 4 min would be perfect.. then I'll unplug it and ummm... plug it back in!! Oh yeah!! That will do it!!!
Just kidding around!!!
wow, amazing stuff thanks
can i get an external charger/docker for the batteries?
do ALL these devices have the same problem or just the newer ones? my old one didnt do it (unless it still had some power in it)
Thanks
There is both a battery charger that you stick your battery in and a cradle that charges both your Wizard and also has a slot for a second battery. I couldn't find the single battery charger, but the dock can be found by searching for 8125 twin cradle.

Ok, on my 8125 with the battery oriented exactly how it sits in the phone, the + is the top most contact and the - is the bottom most contact.
Here's a pic of a battery I found and you can just make out the + (red) / - (black) on the pic.

im not trying to ruin this great party, but were you trying to charge your MDA with the USB cord after you drained it? cuz u have to charge by A/C....
ohh and that licking thing....it works with AA batteries, 'cept you put them under your armpits for a few minutes
hi,
i drained my battery completly, and now when i want to charge it nothing hapened. it is not charging, no green light on device..... and i can`t turn it on becouse no juice in battery.... help needed how to charge the batery away from device or something.....
thanx in advance
Well,Jump start the battery,or charge it with Wall charger capable of 1amp out put,it'll start to charge.
To jumpstart the battery use a 9v battery and give the battery a few 30 second charges which should give it enough juice for the phone to boot and get it charging from the usb cable or wall charger thats less than 1amp.
It may take a few attempts to get enough charge.
Also cutting and end of a spare usb cable and using that to jumpstart the battery is possible too.
it would be more nice that if u could show it with picture illustration guide (if possible)
by the way. Is this the 9v battery u were refering too:-

hey dhawal4u stop spaming ) ..... and don't do 30 seconds shocks...try firstly with 15 seconds...or use a wall charger like zabardast said..it's safer
I guess charging it using a USB cable may also work because when my battery all once drained i used a USB cable to charge it and it worked but for sometime in the starting dont do anything after sometime its orange light will automatically be on or you can use the Wall charger as other are saying and once problem is solved do tell in the THREAD so that people dont post replied saving sites bandwidth.
usb cable jump worked for me. happened to have one usb cable without another head so tried it, few less than 10sec spikes and then connected to computer and boom it started charging
thanks.

Hi,
Could you tell me how to do this? Which are the + and - contacts of the wizard's cell?
Thanks.
My himalaya's usb/chargeport has been completely ripped off its motherboard. I have to externally charge battery.
however, i got to looking at the thing and i saw a weird jack on the back that looks like its the same pinlayout.
whats the purpose of this port?
I'am looking for that answer like 5 days! I searched a littke over net and i think is called CF backpack jack! Check this link http://www.theunwired.net/?item=rev...backpack-for-himalaya-pocket-pc-phone-edition
And i think that phone can't be charged over that jack. If i am wrong i would be glad to someone confirm that!
If your connector is in one piece (without broken pins, pins 13, 14, 15,16 and 22 are for usb and charge) u can take it to local gsm service to get it solder back for u! If is not, u can use alternate miniUSB jack, there is thread in this forum how to do that! But is ugly to see a small connector that peeking out of phone like a mouse!!!
well if the cfbackpack cna provide power over the power, youd think you could charge from it.
well we can use a any broken one and pull out a connector and solder a cable for it!? But a problem is where to find a broken cfbackback these days!?
i donĀ“t know of any shop who sell this part, dood!
there can found very, very rarely on Ebay my friend !
So, the general advice for all those with broken himalaya connector (depending of what parts are broken) is alternative miniUSB OR, buy an universal charger for charging the battery

And for PC sync use bluetooth USB dongle (i am not so happy with these solution, cuz my hima don't hold battery much time and when use this dongle it won't hold battery at all, especially when transfer to many data)
And for flashing a new rom, we can use a SD card, but still needs a USB cable for taking a header from bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482236)
soldering anything on that motherboard is a real sob, the pins are bloody tiny=
Yes i new that, but that is a job for a service guy. I took the draw and scheme for what pins goes with what (for miniUSB) and took the phone to him and he do the solder job with his super thin Solder Iron and that job costs me a 3 euro. He finished the job in 1h and 15 mins.! It's forbidden to people who don't know anything about these things to take any steps alone. Consult with some gsm service first, instead to do something wrong and destroy the phone board pins and the connector!!! These connector is a general problem! After 1 or 2 years of use, almost every Himalaya will have this problem!!!!
Where to buy Himalaya CF & VGA Backpack
I have noticed recently that my HD2 charges when it feels like. I can charge direct from mains, usb or portable solar charger and have noticed that when plugged in and below 100% or any number down to about 10% that it does not always indicate that it is charging and sometimes stops charging before it has got to a 100%.
I have two batteries and both do the same and the phone is set to charge when on USB, so what gives, does anyone recognise this issue and how big an issue is it.. cheers..
Still trying to find an answer to this as the situation has got worse. Now I find that the battery will not charge until it has gone into the red zone and not always then.
Yesterday both batteries were in the last 10% of their life and then just stopped, even though the phone was plugged into the charger.
I have two chargers, three leads, two batteries but just the one phone so I am guessing that either the phone has issues or the rom that I am using has issues..
looking for clues and pointers..
I have had a similar issue, but it occuredmostly when I plugged in my portable charger with me. Above 50% charge, charging was not trustworthy, but below that it was. Up till now I have found the micro-usb cable to be the culprit, although I do not know exactly why.

Okay I will check my cable, maybe get one that I have not used before... thanks...
Well it is not the leads. The phone defo has a mind of its own and I can not make any sense of its charging behaviour.
SORTED...
At LAST.. finally got to the bottom of this..
SPB Phone Suite has both "Profiles" and "Rules" and I had not realised that you need to set the rules up and not just leave them at the default as this was telling my phone not to charge in certain profiles..

Panic over, phone is charging as it should..
Has anyone tried what's happening if you charge your Xperia Z2 from two sources at the same time ?
I mean one charger through USB port and another one through magnetic port. That can be interesting to find out, it may crack your phone or it may charge faster, what do you think ?

ive tried it i dont think it made any difference to the charging time
but i never really timed it
I think that phone has some kind of protection against charging it like that and it will charge from only one source.
Other thing is that the faster charging is the more battery degenerates. I wouldn't use neither this method nor 3A chargers since it's not easy to change our batteries.

It wont charge faster. According to my research it picks one source to get charged with.
Also that's unhealthy for the device and should be avoided at all times.
Note: Do not try to connect the magnetic charger upside down or you're going to burn one diode and the device won't charge with MicroUSB unless you replace it's mobo.
Some good tips right there, thanks guys, I will keep that in mind.
