ok, on my xda mini s, if i plug the charger in at 2% to 99% it charges fine
but, i let the battery go so dead that it wont charge. so i bought another one and it did the same
is there a software fix for this? can i charge the batteries another way? both are only 6 weeks old and charge fine in my mates mini s (one of the first ones) mine is only 6 weeks old
its now getting very annoying
thanks
What are you running? G3 or G4, IPL/SPL, ROM version??
hi mate
ipl 2.21.001
spl 2.21.001
gsm 0.2.07.10
os 2.21.4.1
so just to clarify, I think there needs to be a tiny amount of power the the device to power it enough to recognise the charger is plugged in
i have 2 batteries with 0% energy - none will charge. The 3rd battery charges fine if more then 1% is left before I stick the charger in
thanks
Actually my boss had the same problem with his 8125. He was running wi-fi & music and it killed the battery all the way dead. I don't think there's a fix. He had to buy a new battery.

Looks like mfrazzz has the answer!
wow, ok i am a nuby and you might not like the solution but, every time my battery runs out completely and i cant charge it, disconnect the charger trust me on this one, lick the top of the charger connect it back and at first it will show a red light leave it there for about 4 minutes, then disconnect it and connect it back and your battery will start chargin again. trust me on this one ive done it like 4 times.

HOW DID YOU FIGURE THAT OUT??? I mean, where you just sitting around thinking... Hmmm... I think I'll lick the top and stick it in.. hummm... I guess I'll leave it in for about 2 min... no... 3 min... oooo I think 4 min would be perfect.. then I'll unplug it and ummm... plug it back in!! Oh yeah!! That will do it!!!
Just kidding around!!!
wow, amazing stuff thanks
can i get an external charger/docker for the batteries?
do ALL these devices have the same problem or just the newer ones? my old one didnt do it (unless it still had some power in it)
Thanks
There is both a battery charger that you stick your battery in and a cradle that charges both your Wizard and also has a slot for a second battery. I couldn't find the single battery charger, but the dock can be found by searching for 8125 twin cradle.

Ok, on my 8125 with the battery oriented exactly how it sits in the phone, the + is the top most contact and the - is the bottom most contact.
Here's a pic of a battery I found and you can just make out the + (red) / - (black) on the pic.

Hi,
I forgot my prophet @ home, turned on, and i travelled for one month. When i returned, is completly dead.
Any sugestions?
Thanks
Plug it in to the wall, ignore the lack of red light, leave for at least 24 hours. Pray.
or borrow another battery from somewhere, try with that.

Well... If nothing else help, take out battery from prophet,
find what is + and what is -, use some DC voltage 8-12V
DIRECTLY + from DC supply to + battery, - to -. Keep like this for
15-20 seconds then put battery back to prophet.
Then connect to charger.
This is not so good to do with battery often but up to now
similar things like yours happened to me few times with other stuff:
lap tops, mobile phones, GPS and so on. Nothing else helped except
"shock" to the battery. Even this type of battery will survive without any damage.
Just to remind you (and others): DO NOT DO THIS OFTEN and
NOT LONGER THAN 30 seconds.
yes ... this work ... but please ... do not use more then 5V for less secounds!
12v is to high for a 3,7 cell :-> they are built for only 4,1v maximum voltage!
note! this issue can bring your lipo to explode/blast! the best way to bring a undervoltages lipo to work, is to use a lipo charger. only with a powersupply without amper limiter is a very dangerous way! it can damage your fingers if you hold it!
i have blast some cells for 1 year ago and they work very well for newyear!
Do u guys think It will work here

Well... At least you could try, there is nothing to lose.
About voltage: yes battery is 3.7V and yes it is not recommended to connect anything directly. But... This "trick" helped me so many times. And for short time, beleive me, you could connect up to 12V. But be carefully. If you experience any abnormal heat of the battery just stop. But, again, nothing bad will happened for 15, 20 seconds. And just to remind you: CONNECT TO THE BATTERY WHEN BATTERY IS OUT OF PROPHET. DO NOT CONNECT ANYTHING TO THE PROPHET OR BATTERY CONNTACTS ON THE PROPHET.

Hey THX bro,
Now how will i figure out which is the +ve in the batt and -ve in the batt..
So I understand positive of an source of 3.7v goes to +ve of the battery and negative of the source goes to -ve RIGHT
Also yesterday I noted another thing .
Even If I remove the batt and connect the wall charger the NEO still shows a red light.
Do u think this is normal..(can u try this like just remove the batt and put the to NEO to wall charger)
even after installing the batt the NEO just shows red light and it does not get heated at all.
THANK YOU. it just worked with me, for the past week my phone was dead and i lost my charger, i just did it your way with...
5V, 6W adapter, it worked (1st time i did it for 15 secs, didnt work, 2nd time for 25 secs )
thnx again
Can anyone tells me where is the +ve & -ve on the battery, There are 6 pads on the battery

well you just have to use an electrical "tester" if you dont know how to you can bring your battery to an electrician and let him figure out what is + and - for you ( be sure to mark it out )

After installing android i have had problems with my battery,
it's charging, but real slow! from 10-100% it takes 8-12 hours.
anyone else had this problem? or have a sollution?
It depends on how you are charging it. Charging over USB port always takes longer than over outlet.
If your Android is eating your battery, then loading it via USB will not load it much but hold it more or less at the same level.
Maybe that could explain your problem?
Thanks for your replay. I'm charging via outlet and in winmo now.
and with 85% in android it last 16-18 hours with normal to heavy use.

I've noticed that if the power cord is plugged in and then Android booting, charging is snail slow and doesn't show a charging symbol in the battery icon.
i've been on shubcraftCM6 and charging hasn't been a problem. Probably jumps 10% on AC charger in about 30 minutes, maybe even less. but dont ask... i dont test it. i just know that I use my phone under HEAVY use (data sync on most of the time) and constant fiddling around with and I dont ever run down to <10% by the end of the day.

If you unplug and plug it back, the icon will change. During the bootup, I remember seeing text that said it was turning of battery charging or something like that.
Boot android WITHOUT it being connected to charger. Then when android is fully booted up, then connect the charger.
My battery charges equally as fast while I'm running Android, and doesn't have any trouble charging to the FULL capacity, at 100%.

I boot Android with charger plugged in. Once fully booted I unplug and replug to activate the charging notification. Charging is extremely fast from an ac outlet.
I am draining battery at about 15-20% an hour with heavy usage, buy if charging while using I actually make forward progress on the charge level.
Energy ROM, 2.12 radio, Matt Leo rc1.4 is my current combination.

So i restart to winmo for charging up, then reboot to android desire v5 at 100% battery level

Then I plug it in.
For the last 45 minutes, it has been flashing this screen then going black.

I wouldn't know, but no new phone is supposed to act like that.
Have you tried pulling the battery or booting into recovery? Also try another usb cable or wall outlet, maybe it's not getting a charge. Make sure the usb port is clean. I'm sorry but I don't have a definitive solution.
I had the same issue after 2 weeks of use when i was on a business trip!!!. I left the phone plugged in overnight and it charged. As far as i remember id displayed full charge next day but actually it was not fully charged (i guess it was about 20%). So after a couple of recharge cycles it worked ok.

I just had this happen today on my ATT Galaxy S II. But what happened was I let the battery almost drain and I had a brand new oem battery that I had charging over night. So with the old battery in I rebooted into recovery wiped battery stats and powered off. I then put the new battery in and when I plugged it in it was stuck at this screen. It seems to be charging though and how you can bypass it is unplug it and just hold the power button down for like 10 seconds it will reboot.
But the question is.. will it go back to normal and show that it's actually charging for everyone? or did some get stuck for good? Since the thread is old I'm sure you guys have either gotten yours replaced or after a while it just started working normally again. So I'm curious on how to fix it. It's happening with both batteries on this phone now but work fine in another phone
May be let it charge and then calibrate your battery

Had the exact same issue when I bought mine... Turned out I had not plugged the battery correctly. Just try removing the battery and put it back.

I got it working again. I think thee might be a bug with CWM or CM when you wipe battery stats/recreates them. I restored to the bone stock rom and the icon started animating again. I restored CM 7 which was the version I wiped the bat stats and it stopped working again. I then just reflashed CM on top and it started working again go figure Thanks guys
I had faced that problem too.Just try plugging out and in the battery and start the phone.Make sure the battery is fixed into it's place. If it is still not working, continue the plug-out and in the battery and start the phone again.Try it for several times. It will work. When i was in that situation,i thought mine was BRICK.Hopefully replugging the battery fixed this problem.
Another situation is when i plug in a fully charged battery,it only shows 60 percent after booting. After replugging the battery,it just got right back to 99.
Good stuff - when I bought my phone, the first charge took so long.
Is it true that the wall charger charges the phone faster than the USB charger? (just something I have noticed).
Thanks
I bought a generic QI charger at DX and it worked well... once. The next day the phone was not recognizing the charger.
I really think that's a software issue because I tried a hard reset by flashing the original 4.4.2 stock rom image. it worked once and it stopped again. Then, I tried flashing stock again but it didn't work. Also, the charger seems to recognize that there is a device with wireless charging capacities but it turns off after 2 seconds.
Is there an activity or something that makes the system recognize the charger and start in fact charging? I searched a little bit but I can't find someone with the same issue
Have you moved the phone around on the charger? I have found out that the phone qi receiver is low on the phone and the transmitter is usually in the middle of the charger. That will give you the on/off back and forth.

Yes. I also searched the exact spot where the coil is located, it can't be. also, the charger recognizes de device
i had the same issue, it would detect then it would lose its connection, it comes down the the quality of charger, the magnetic pull is weak so it may drop after a few seconds, i ended up getting a better one,i dont exactly know why it droped even when the phone has not moved,
is your charger a small disc or a flat rectangle larger than the phone?

I noticed it has to be on perfectly, I have a small one and I'm noticing its difficult to get it to charge, it seems to tickle 90% of the time I'm thinking of opening it and do a few tests,
On mine it states, if the power is irregular the charger will disconnect and stop, intermittent etc, the light will display that, if the charger is not strong enough then It can do that aswell.
My qi is 1500mah output while my charger is 1200mah and its efficiency is 75%, so at 900mah its still fine for the nexus, I will test with a 2amp charger and hope it dosnt just make it hotter
Its anoying that this has not be a substitute to connecting it directly.

This is how mine is positioned. The SIM card slot on the side is aligned with the charger coil on the phone, so you can use it as reference. Also make sure you're using a charger with not less than 2000 mA. Also try a different phone to test the charger if you can, just to rule out your phone as the problem. Good luck

Just got a new battery because the old one died. Had the phone for around 4-5 months now after upgrading from the s3 that did the exact same thing. The phone is stock no custom Roms or root. It just dies, turns off. When turning the phone on it makes it to the galaxy logo and then powers off. I cannot make it to recovery mode and charging it does nothing. Plugging it in with no battery does not power the phone on either. Please help me figure this out.

Get your charging port checked. Maybe the way you put phones in your pocket or somewhere makes it go bad.
Things like this happen once, not twice brother.
Clean your charger and your charging port. Try connecting to a pc and see if it starts charging.
Or maybe your charger went bad.
Do press thanks if my posts are helpful

I can't get into recovery or download. When the splash screen comes up the phone turns back off... If it even makes it that far. This happened with the s3 as well and i looked it up on google as being "sudden death syndrome". The charger and port are fine, the phone is brand new.
Hold power
1-2 seconds goes by
See Samsung Galaxy screen
phone turns off
When its being charged it says 100% complete and then when i took out the charger it would instantly drop to 90%. After that if i sent a text or any message it would drop another 1% and this was the same deal with the s3 that died and would never turn back on. The phone is literally brand new and i just replaced the battery less than a week ago with a new one. The battery is just not holding charge but its brand new but the same thing happens plugged into USB with the charge cord and no battery
