Yes, you'd have to install a stock ROM and make sure it isn't rooted. Make the phone look like it was when you got it, basically.

Or just flash stock gb with pc odin and do a full wipe, you'll lose root and cwm.

No, doesn't affect counter. Only flashing custom Roms and kernels will raise counter.

You have to flash a original firmware and have the right CSC set on it.
You can flash normaly with odin.
regards
Thanks.
I know how to flash to original firmware but what is CSC and how to do it?
Thank you.

Just flash the original firmware for your country/region, it already contains the right csc file. After reboot dial in phonepad *2767*3855# for a factory reset and you`re done (backup your important files to the computer !)

Is gone after the Odin flash
You're all right, but keep in mind that the flash counter might be set, so you have to reset the counter.
Just check it in the download mode.
Well, wasn't the "unroot" tool doing the same thing?

Factory reset does not remove CWM. You need to re-flash the stock ROM (System, Modem, Kernel and etc).
i cant find the stock rom for my country - PHILIPPINES
Thanks to all for helping me on this.
My phone become 'virgin' and save to sent to samsung for warranty claim.
Original firmware [check]
Flash counter [check]
CWM [check]
If im missed something please let me know.
Thanks again.

I cant get PC odin to do anything it ALWAYS fails with this note. It works just fine on the AT&T one

One question before I root.

On every device I've owned so far I wait for a method to fully unroot the device is out just in case.
That being said, is there a method to fully unroot and reset the flash counter (similar to the note 2) to 0 or for it not to show that a custom rom/recovery has been flashed?

Yes there are a few ways. You could install the complete stock tar which will wipe everything out including data. You could uninstall root using supersu and Odin the stock recovery. You could install team sextapes full stock with no data wipe to go back to stock without losing data. That is a few but there is more.

Correct. Odin is the easiest option. And since you would be exchanging it the full stock tar with data wipe is perfect. Just make a backup first.

I'd you're wanting to remain rooted, then you will need a custom recovery.

It's possible to extract the stock recovery from the Odin image and flash it independently. Check it out in this post. Be warned that it's only for AT&T S4's and it's possible to brick your device pretty badly if you flash the recovery to the wrong place.

yes, you will have to use the odin, and then root again. unless you're running a custom rom, then you will have to full wipe your device.

[Q] Re-Flashing stock rom on rooted device

I have a rooted N900 running stock rom, I want to reflash the stock rom, the question is; do I have to unroot first? Or I can flash it right without unrooting
I'm not concerned about warranty and reseting flash binary, I just want to get a clean stock rom again
