I bet you don't believe in global warming either. Truth be told, our entire court system is that messed up. Justice is available to the highest bidder and right now, that's Apple. You remember Apple- the company that promised the Beatles (Apple Records) that they would NEVER get into the music industry? Yeah, that Apple.
Well, if you really think this is an injustice and want to do something about it, vote with your wallet. Vote often, vote consistently, and tell all your friends. If you like having attorneys decide what you can buy and how much you will pay for it, then keep buying your iPhones, iPads, and all that other iSh%t. OTOH, if you think that Apple has abused the worlds courts, and is spending way too much time shopping around the world for a favorable court, then do everything possible in your little corner of the world to lessen Apples grip. It has to be done from the grass roots my friends, you do not have the budget to take on the Army Of Job's Minions on their own turf.
That is my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
This only works with bible thumpers in Iowa and gay marriage, not geeks and gadgets.
Your story is bizarre. You're taking fanboyism to an extreme. I already bought my Galaxy Nexus as a middle finger to all haters (and plus you'd be stupid to refuse $349 for an awesome phone).

Sure...
I spoke to sprint advanced tech support and he hinted that it would be a Sprint iPhone, though he admitted he would not put money down on that.
It will NOT be a Sprint iPhone. if it is I will cancel my service with them immediately for two reasons.
1. An IPhone for Sprint = not an industry first (people aren't seeming to grasp this one, though its not necessarily your prediction just what a rep said)
2. The iPhone 4 is already a device that is on the brink of obsolete. In a world where dual cores and 4g are becoming standard, the people buying iPhone for Verizon are asking to get left behind. If Sprint, who has been doing a great job of staying ahead of the game, decides that taking two steps back and calling it an "industry first" is a wise new game plan, I may as well throw in the towel.
Remember, a vast majority of sales reps, really don't know what they are even talking about.

May have been slight exaggeration... but, innovation and making that tiny effort to stay ahead is the main reason I go with sprint. The fact being that the company has been doing a great job leading the game without being the biggest in sales or subscribers would make all this fuss over an obsolete phone, instead of putting that money to better uses, would definitely make me question if I should go to Verizon or ATT for their soon to be superior phones (atrix, bionic, thunderbolt) if that makes sense.
It would be a huge letdown to me if all this hubbub was over a phone two other carriers have.
I really don't think the announcement is going to be the Iphone. I doubt Sprint will even get Iphone on there service until the Iphone 5 is out with 4G and a dual core. Anyway this thread was meant to be a joke. See, the OP said that Sprint's big announcement will be that the Steelers won the Super Bowl, which would not be making the impossible, possible. I hope the Packers win just because they beat my Eagles and the Eagles actually should have won since they lost by 5 and the Pro Bowl field goal kicker missed 2 FG which would have been 6 points and the win. I guess I could take a little more pride in losing by so little to the eventual SB champs.
I highly doubt Sprint is going to spend the money to get the Iphone on their service. Just Google how much Verizon will spend on Iphone. If Sprint does just expect some serious rate hikes on your next plan.

The thread was a joke... and I got myself a chuckle from it haha. Mostly because steelers=black and yellow, sprint = black and yellow, and.my music player = wiz khalifa "black and yellow" all in one glorious moment of things adding up just right haha.
My posts are simply at my infernal irritation at people desperately clinging to hope that its an iPhone (which I admit to being a very biased, avid iPhone hater), and the relentless "My sales rep said...." comments. Personally I dig it only because I like Google and want to see them armed with an arsenal of patents so that Android won't be killed by patent trolls. Never had a Moto phone myself but I haven't heard great things. Aren't they known for having crappy, break apart build quality?

Well I will probably get flack for this, but here goes. Before you get all happy about this aquisition by Google. Remember who Motorola has been in bed with for the better part of their phone "Greatness" , Verizon . The original we're going to throttle your data, you better not be tethering (even though your paying for unlimited) , if we can't charge you for it you can't do it, we're going to control everything you do on your phone carrier. So even though it's Google new company, the employees are still the old regime. With the old habits, especially the Executives. I'll always remember a quote from one of Verizon's press releases stating " the Companies bottom line is always the most important aspect in considerations involving customers" . I understand this true for any company. But to say it in a press release like that says a lot about how they perceive their customer base. Yes, I understand this is only my opinon
No flack here, you make avalid point

Wouldn't make sense. HTC makes great phones but do not have the large patent portfolio that Moto has built up over many years in the mobile industry.
^ Shift Faced
i live in seattle and googles from redmond, theyve been on the news about this quite a bit and theyve even said themselves they just wanted the patent portfolio to help in defending android and the developers against apple, microsoft and the rest of the other bull**** patent trolls.
I see where this will certainly help Google, and Motorola, with regards to patent lawsuits. But how will this help Samsung, and HTC? Is Google going to step in, and say "Get out of here, patent troll....check this out....PWNT!!!"

I'd imagine that since these patents are typically incredibly vague such as "scrolling menus" that if Apple sues HTC or Samsung over infringing on one of their vaguely worded patents then Google could jump in and brandish one of their equally vague patents and say that Google actually has the patent for it, not Apple.
^ Shift Faced
just so yall know i didnt see a splash screen for this new motoroogle or googlerola or whatever you want lol (it has only been a day) so i decided to make one. I posted it on im.nick.hellos new thread for splash screens along with some others i made.
I just have to wait for him to convert them into splash img format and a flashable.
SO GO CHECK IT OUT
BTW: I hope im not hijacking the thread. I dont think i am because it is technically about the thread in a way. but if i am please set me straight!
Edit: In regards to the post above there is no real reason to buy HTC
1)they are doing great on there own
2) HTC would not give up sense and google would not want sense
3) HTC would be like 3X the amount that Motorola was
4)Motorola already had made the commitment to android and that was its sole operating system unlike HTC where they make phones for WP7 and Android.
4) Motorolas patent portfolio is much bigger
5) Motorolas not getting sued lol
Just my 2 cents theres probably other reasons too
Google did it for the Patents
I heard its to help cover their a$$ with apple lawsuits

That would be interesting to see (that he or Apple have done any charitable works), but unless its on paper, it's simply hearsay.
He established a foundation in '86 if I remember correctly, but apparantly the guy who he left to manage it said Jobs didn't seem very interested in maintaining it and was more focused on Apple (which he should have been to a certain degree, obviously if there's no money coming in, how can he help anyone, right?).
But the fact of the matter is, his charitable contributions seem to be nil. There's no reason to hide helping people out. You can be quiet about doing it, sure. But to leave no trail of it existing? Not so sure about that.
And to clarify, if his will ends up giving/establishing charities or anything of the like, good for him and RIP. But until then, I can't feel much for the guy.
There will be no jokes about how the latest iPhone was a the proverbial nail in the... well never mind.
As a innovator he was truly a genius. As a businessman and a promoter, he was second to none. He was a man living ahead of his time. What ever your opinion of Apple, the World has truly lost one of its best.

This has nothing to do with Apple. Has little to do with the US carriers. This has everything to do with 3rd Quarter gains, http://www.samsung.com/us/aboutsamsung/ir/stockinformation/stockchart/IR_RealSAMSUNGElectronics.html .

If Apple had their way, a phone call would go something like this.
Me: Dials friends phone number
Siri: Are you sure you want to speak to him?
Me: Yes
Siri: Remember the argument you had last week?
Me: Yes, but we worked it out.
Siri: I do not think it would be in your best interest for you to talk to him.
Me: It's OK, I want to go see a movie and he loves that movie.
Siri: What movie?
Me: The Avengers
Siri: Oh, I do not think you should see that movie, Apple does not have any interests in that franchise.
Me: Yeah, whatever.
Siri: OK, if you are going to see the movie, I will not take part.
Me: Siri, unlock the phone.
Siri: I can't do that.
Me: I want to see the movie times.
Siri: I'm sorry, I can't so that.
Etc.....

Just read that Apple got their injunction again on the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
They really need to focus again on innovation and less on lawsuits....

When you can't compete you litigate. That's been the mantra of businesses in the 21st century.

Apple hasn't had an original idea in a few years, so they might as well try to keep the competition buried in legal fees. At some point phone manufactures will stop wanted to do business in the US. Pleanty of more populated countries.

Yeah...they're just going to wait for the competition to come up with all the innovation...then one year come out and say that they made something MAGICAL...and sell billions. -- Hopefully, by then...people will have brighten up a bit.
Apple and it's followers keep getting the definition of Copy and Innovate wrong.
