Hello,
today I tried to update my thinkpad tablet to Android 4.0.
After the usual Update in the system didnt work I manual put the Updates on SD Card and manually updatet my device.
After that my tablet hangs in an bootloop, ist tries to start again and again with no success.
What can I do now?

Can you intervene at any point and boot into CWR recovery or Stock Recovery?

I had the same problem. I could not get it into any form of recoverey. I twould just hold Lenovo logo, go dark, vibrate and back to lenovo logao again.
I had to call Lenovo at last and send it in for service. It did not matter since my micro usb was broken too.
shipped it in on thursday and the said it would take 5 business days until i get it back. time will show !!!!

My Pad just told me that there is a firmware update. It loaded the file and restarted. But after a minute or so the android-icon changed into a lying figure with a warning label on the open stomach.
I was able to restart and the pad told me that the update was broken and the old version restored.
I tried to get the update again but now the pad says there is no new version.
Now I got the new firmware (.40) from the asus website but I'm not sure if I should try to to flash it by myself. Will I still get OTA-updates after I flashed a firmware by myself?
Doing a manual update wont prevent you from installing future ota updates. Go ahead and install it.

Ever since I updated OTA to .40, I have had lots of WiFi disconnects. Recovery from prob is manually connecting and waiting.

I had the same thing when I made the OTA Update the first time. But in difference I could start it again, it downloaded again and the update seemed to run through.
But after that the TF300TG always stops at the boot screen (mentioned in an other thread).
I think ASUS has some serious troubles with the .40 update.
I haven't seen an update notification at all on my Prime.. I have done the system update manually every day and still have yet to get the update.. im not root and every thing still stock.

I tried the manual update but unfortunately I got again the lying figure with the warning sign.
My device is rooted using the one-click-method.
Is it possible that this causes the problem? Do I have to unroot and maybe doing a hard reset to get the update?
I was told the problem with the flickering screen in Tegra-games should be solved, so I really would try to get it...
Do you still have the stock system recovery image installed?
I'm having the same problem but I have clockwork recovery installed, which probably works great on the TF300T but can't install the 3G modem software on the TF300TG.
That's why my update is failing anyhow.

I have still the stock recovery. I don't trust any of the instructions for the TF300T, as they may cause the lost of the 3G-ability of the TF300TG. :silly:

Yeah I did that a few weeks ago, I'm really wishing I hadn't now though!
Have you booted into recovery and checked that its still working?
I read that somebody corrupted their recovery image using the one-click root method.

Stock recovery is just the menu you get when you press <vol down> during boot, where you can choose to get a factory reset or a cold boot, isn't it?
I tried that, seems to work. I read about the other guy with the broken recovery, too (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795902). But as far as I understood he tried to unroot with the 1-click-method after the update to .40.
Update: I managed to install the new firmware. After I used the rootkeeper to temporarily unrooting the device the update ran without problems.
After the update the device was complete unrooted but I got back root using the tool here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1706588
Unfortunately my issues with Tegra-games are not fixed with the new fírmware.
Is this only for tG? since I'm not having any notifications on my 300T

The firmware 9.4.4.40 is only for the TG.
yes i have search all over the internet, not just xda. may problem is very simaler to others but no quite the same.
here's what happened
ok. so i have a gen2 A500
it was running on stock 3.2 unrooted
i updated the acer update tool from the play store and then searched for the ICS updatit downloaded the update and asked me if i wanted to contine ue with the update.
i clicked yes and it started to do it's thing.
it completed as far as i could tell and rebooted
it got stuck at the acer log for 30 min until i decided something was wrong
i turnned it off but when i turn it on it still wouldn't boot past the acer logo.
i downloaded the stock ics update froma link here on xda and copied it to my sd card.
booted into recovery on the a500 whih automatically started the flashing process again.
still stuck at acer logo
i flashed it again and then this time did the power, vol+, switch hard reset combo. it booted into ICS
after logging in as a new user, i put the tablet down for maybe 5 minutes. it shut itself off and it's back to being stuck at the acer logo.
doe anyone know wth is going on?
i can get into download mode but i'm not sure what good that is doing me. it does say it has ics bootloaders.
Is there a program simaler to ODIN for samsung that i can boot into download mode and try to reflash that way?
thanks for any and all help.

If you can define the procedure you followed for updating to Android 5.0.1, then I can think of something.

Well, your phone isn't dead but you might have to wipe your phone. I'd start with doing a factory reset in the stock recovery. That will wipe your device
Sent from my Nexus 9 using XDA Free mobile app
Go to stock recovery and you can trying wiping /cache first, and then reboot. If that does not work, go back and do a full wipe.
Did you use the toolkit? If so, this happens everytime for some reason. Your phone is not broken. Just give it some time after rebooting and should bring you to the setup menus.
Hey guys and gals...It really looks like my phone is screwed...I recently updated to lollipop which is awesome and i thank you guys or gals for all the work you've put in. Last night I decided to go into updates and without knowing what it was going to cause, I clicked on one of the updates and went into that CYANOGENMOD screen. I could turn the phone off, but that's about it. My question would be if it is possible to get a fix on this or not? Thanks for any comments.

We need more info. What device version are you on? Does your windows pc recognise the device? Have you tried to restore the device with lg's flashing tool? Does the phone still boot to the cyanogenmod boot animation or just dead in the water?

(chihuas33) Thanks for your reply...The device I am using is for AT&T which is the D800. When I plug in my device to my laptop it does recognize it but that's as far as it will go. I have not tried to restore with LS's flashing tool because I had no idea about it but I'll check it out. My phone does boot to cyanogenmod and does not go any further. Any feed back would be awesome.

Sounds like your device is in a boot loop pal. Boot into recovery of possible and wipe cache+dalvik cache and see if it helps

Good morning all,
I am throwing this out here hoping someone can please help.
Woke up yesterday to the Essential phone logo screen powered by Android... Unresponsive. Restarted with no luck. Went into recovery mode and factory reset. Went to start up animation for an hour but nothing. Device is locked (bootloader locked) and running on the latest build from Essential (7.1.1/NMJ88C/464). I have never unlocked nor flashed anything on the phone, only OTA updates directly from Essential. Just started it up again today and says your device is corrupt. Factory reset again and now cycling between logo screen and erasing circle.
Any ideas to fix the phone? Reached out to Essential but haven't heard back yet.
Thanks all!

You don't need to be unlocked to adb sideload the Oreo beta builds from essentials website.
Just follow their instructions

I'm searching for answers too! My essential is doing the dotted box to the dotted circle spin back & forth over & over ! I saw the dead robot with exclamation mark . The only thing on the essential website is to wipe phone ! Help. If the person that made this phone do this to people dies please let me know, so I can smile during this stressful time . If they r still alive I hope they are in agony over something thx!
