[Q] ROM Options Inquiry - Galaxy Tab General

I have an original Galaxy Tab (AT&T variant). Last year, I flashed the Euro ROM, and then flashed back to the only AT&T stock ROM I could find; the stock ROM is just fine except for the boot animation. It shows the SAMSUNG flash screen, then goes black during the remainder of the bootup. After a couple minutes, I can press power twice and the device is perfectly usable.
However, it seems that along with the boot animation, my recovery mode is also not possible. Just a black screen. I can get into download mode, but recovery is a no-go.
I want to flash an ICS based ROM, but all the ones I can find require flashing from SD, which is only possible if you can get into recovery mode. Are there any options available that will allow me to flash them via Odin or by any other means using my PC with the device in download mode?
Thanks in advance!

you are quite incorrect there.
To install ICS you need a CUSTOM recovery, mainly ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM Recovery).
Even if you can boot to your AT&T stock recovery, it will not work.
Head over to http://www.teamovercome.net
You can read the guide at overcome site, but it has missing pictures.
You can see the whole guide here:

I don't know what version is AT&T stock. if it is Gingerbread, you probably can't just flash overcome kernel in tar format using Odin and just boot to recovery and use the recovery.

Thank you very much! I went through that process effortlessly. Now on to more experiments!

[Q] I cannot boot EURO Tab anymore. Always landed into Android system recovery <3e>
Hallo all. I've been searching this forum for solution and I've not found any. My GTab cannot boot normal any more. Every time it lands into Android system recovery <3e>. Please help me. I'm really frustrated.
How it started:
I ran ROM Manager to check whether there is support for EURO Tab (no supprot yet). Then from inside ROM Manager I booted into recovery to do a nandroid backup. Unfortunately no nandroid is there. When I did reboot GTab cannot start anymore. Everytime I boot I land into Android system recovery <3e>. Booting into downloading mode is also not possible. I've tried many times. GTab only boot into recovery <3e>.
I have Galaxy Tab EURO, rooted, updated to JM6.
hello!
have you flashed the international kernel before? if u did so and u want to revert all, u can flash with heimdall a stock kernel and a stock secondary bootloader (boot.bin and sbl.bin) from JM6! maybe u need to reflash the whole firmware with heimdall or Odin, whatever u like better!
Thanks for reply. Actually I did flash the EURO ROM three weeks ago. I did nothing recently. I only booted into recovery via ROM Manager and since then GTab cannot boot normally.
I tried Odin already, but no success, because I cannot switch into downloading mode, but recovery. I tried with adb shell, and cannot find the directory /data.
I have rooted and flashed the EURO ROM on my Gtab as well; and I am having the same problem finding a ClockworkMod version compatible with this ROM. I've tried AT&T, TMobile, and Verizon versions of ClockworkMod. I preordered from UK, so I didn't expect any to work, but it doesn't hurt to try.
Anyway, I run into a similar problem as you on reboot. I get to system recovery and it "sticks". However, if I press the HOME key a few times, it will reboot normally.
Still no recovery, still no nand, but at least the Gtab is functioning. I guess I just wait on a EURO version of recovery.

[Q] Galaxy S4 MF3 can't enter recovery.

So the problem here is that my phone won't enter recovery mode. I think it's because it's deleted. I installed safestrap and did a factory wipe but it gave me errors(something about datamedia/media) so i just deiced it's best to deal with it in the morning, so i rebooted. The phone stayed on my boot logo(Samsung Custom) and then things started to get worse. I hold the 3 buttons and it reboots. Only problem is that the blue "entering recovery mode" text shows up for a split second and then gives me the android figure you would see if you were in download mode for another split second and then reboots.
I know that MF3 is having some flash problems so i can't flash the stock rom because i already tried with 2 different stocks rom. I also already tried to use the custom pit files that were used to fix the bootlop issue with kies or whatever (adonis.pit, MF3_BTL_FIX and SGS_I337_16GB), which came out with no luck.
Is there a way to flash the stock rom on MF3?
Is there a way to get my recovery back so i can wipe everything?
Or is my only option to got to best buy have them flash the stock rom...

[Q] Can't flash any ROM - help?

Hi there.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and I’m using TWRP Recovery 6.0.4.4.
I tried to flash a nightly-version of CyanogenMod (cm-10.2-20131101-NIGHTLY-jfltexx.zip). I did a Factory Reset before flashing, TWRP said it had been successful.
When I tried to boot my phone, I can see the "SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 GT-I9505" logo, here it got stuck. I can not see the cyanogen boot animation.
Though MD5 hashes and file sizes are ok, I tried another ROM: SuperNexus http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407616
Here it was exactly the same. My device gets stuck even before the boot animation.
I was so desperate, that I tried to format my complete internal storage. Flashing the ROMs was successful again, I could boot both ROMs CM and Supernexus then. But after I turned off my device I can't boot any more. Again I can not see the boot animation.
I have already tried it with PhilZ and CWM. I flashed them using my current recovery.
Any advice?
I am sorry for my English, if you need more detailed explanation, please ask. I tried to describe everything as detailed as I can.
Can you get into download mode? You may have to flash a stock ROM to get it to working again. Was the phone previously rooted?
And are you currently on a stock ROM or coming from a custom ROM?
Yeah, I can get into Download mode.
Well, I am not sure what ROM I'm currently using since I wiped everything. Previously I had FoxHound ROM, samsung-based pre-rooted custom ROM.
Have you tried flashing a custom Kernel?
Sounds like what I had when I tried to flash a TW Kernel for a AOSP ROM.
If you can't get into recovery, go into download mode and flash the latest CWM. Got my phone working.
FoxHound ROM installed a custom Kernel, "Ausdim Kernel" I think.
Now I have CWM 6.0.3.2 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279579
Not sure if this is the latest version ... I can't find an Odin-flashable *.tar
Anyway it doesn't work too. This recovery can't even flash CM, it gets stuck at "opening update package ..."
Sorry its a bit late.

Use them. This may help as a tutorial to follow loosely but that was for non working WiFi.

[Q] Flashed JB Rom directly from HC using older Recovery (1.3.4). Now it`s Boot loop

Hi,
Guys I need your help on this one.
I sold my A500 almost a year ago to a friend of mine. At that time I flashed it with a HC ROM and Recovery 1.3.4.
Last week the new owner of the tabled asked me for help updating the ROM to JB. Since now I use a Samsung Galaxy I completely forgot on the correct procedures to update the Acer A500. I simply downloaded a 4.2.2 Rom and tried to flash it on recovery mode.
After that I'm stuck with an endless loop. The tabled boots, pass the Acer logo, shows the ROM logo screen and than boot again.
Since I can still acess the recovery screen (it still shows 1.3.4 recovery) I tried flashing other ROMs with no sucess. Every room that uses the Aurora installer freezes as soons as Aurora Installer message shows on the screen. So I wasn`t able to flash a new Rom or a new Recovery (since all the Roms and recovery that I have found uses the Autora installer).
I also tried to install an older room (Tried the Lightspeed 2.1 ROM) and although I was able to flash it and reboot from recovery, it stops on the boot screen after that (I waited for 4 hours).
Can you guys help me with this one? Also, do you guys know if I can install a new Recovery using Odin?
Thanks
Anyone?
Maybe you should try flashing stock rom. Download 》rename it to update.zip》install from sd card or use EUU roms.

From CynogenMod to WanamLite - Help me get there!

Hi,
I'm currently running CyanogenMod KitKat version with ClockWorkMod. Since the rom has several bugs and for the past few months they haven't published any updates to my Galaxy s4 I9505, I've decided to switch to WanamLite.
There I found out I need TWRP recovery so I went ahead and downloaded GooManager which installed an outdated version, as I've found out.
I tried wiping my internal storage as recommended but the recovery couldn't mount any of my partitions.
So now CyanogenMod won't boot. I know this issue is fixed in the updated version of TWRP but I'm not sure how to update it without the phone booting (Odin perhaps? It doesn't recognize it currently... Should I move to download mode for it to be detected?)
Anyways, I'm kind of stuck as of now. Any help would be very much appreciated!
Btw I have a question, what's the difference between using Odin 1.85 and 3.09? Why do people still use the old version?
Thanks in advance!!
Neta
Edit:
Alright, now I can't get into recovery either. When I try, I can see the Samsung logo and there's "recovery" written in the top left but then it just restarts again into the same logo without "recovery". I'm starting to lose my cool now. Anyone have any ideas?
Try flashing latest stock through download mode and see if it boots.
Sent from my GT-I9506 using Tapatalk
Flash this recovery through odin. It's TWRP 2.6.3.1. Worked alwys for me.:fingers-crossed:

Uncheck auto-reboot in Odin.
Thank guys
I got freaked out and just did everything I could to make the phone working again.
I found a thread on XDA explaining how to return your phone to stock version, so I followed it, rooted with auto root, (btw Odin didn't recognize my phone because I used the front usb... how annoying!), then flashed the latest TWRP (2.7.0.1, not 2.6.x.x as GooManager downloaded for me), then booted to recovery and flashed WanamLite.
Everything is working now!
Except one thing - I'm still not able to access recovery mode through physical buttons, only using boot apps. Is this a kernel issue?
Could be some incompatibility since CyanogenMod uses it's own kernel and CWM recovery.
The recovery itself is working fine, but when I try to access it using buttons it shows the Samsung logo with the recovery on the top left, and then reboots again to normal boot.
What do you think?
Thanks!
