Video: Poor call quality? Try this! - Galaxy S III General

Everyone I talked to said I sounded like I was underwater, or could barely hear me. This helped tremendously for improving call quality on the Sending end
Note, I'm in the USA on AT&T HSPA+

Pure speculation.
You might have one but that doesn't mean you know everything about them. Guessing why HTC does certain things and then telling it as fact is just wrong.
I emailed about this and they said surveys said people didnt use video calling, i must admit, my phone has the feature, but its just so expensive to use.
Would have been nice though

I agree. It would've been nice. The only time I used video call was when I had free video calls. Besides being expensive, i don't see much benefit having video in a call.

Would your answer be still the same if you happen to have an extremely attractive girlfriend and you want to see her face and smiles when you call her?

Still not worth 50p a minute when I can see her when I get home.
for mute/deaf people videocall is awesome (or so I've heard) ....
ever since they launched 3g with videocall in sweden i've made like 5-7 videocalls ( and its been a couple of years )

Yes. Because generally speaking I don't want her to be able to see where I am and what I'm doing....

I agree.
Believe it or not, I use video call
My network operator (Telenor Serbia) applies same charge for both voice and video call, and also includes it in free traffic as a part of a contract. I myself am a frequent user of that feature because my job is 200km away from my hometown where my wife and kids are. Video call is the only way for me to see them almost every day. Apart from that (and occasional video surveillance by 3g cameras - our company has two of them installed) I almost never use video call. Main downside is a lag in conversation of approx. one second both ways which makes any serious conversation impossible. There's also a huge battery drain. So, it's quite understandable to me why most of people don't miss this feature on HD2.

Google Voice Transcription FAIL

Ok so I get a voicemail from my deacon at church. He's asking me to pray for a lady in my church that was rushed to the hospital.
Here's what he said:
Hey Tony, I'm gonna call Chelsea and tell her this too...umm Pray for, umm, Charity Lena. She's having to go to the hospital. she has chest pain. I'm gonna call chelsea and let her know too. We'll talk to you later, bye.

And this is what Google Voice transcrobe:
Hey Tony, Clark, what's up. Tony this to sounds great for Jerry Lee that she had to go the hospital, she's got chest pain and I'm so pleased for her. I'll, Michael Chelsea and let her know to. I'll talk to you later. Bye.

When I read it first, I laughed... then I got sad after I heard what the message was really about.
you can't expect it to be 100% accurate, the fact that it works well and better than microsoft tellme is enough
One that I got earlier.
"Hello way the A C E G O Hey Don, actual ox Nole. Mike Hey, didn't.
I'm guessing the original recording was of poor quality. I haven't had any issues with translation at all.

It doesn't do well with people who mumble a bit it seems or those that don't enunciate very well. I know some people who leave me messages will never be close to the transcription while other are always transcribed fairly well.

Or when there's background noise. I've gotten some transcriptions that were unintentionally hilarious.

All the transcriptions I've ever gotten have been unintentionally hilarious. Once in a while it's almost close enough to figure out what the person was trying to say, but most times not. I figure that Google included the transcriptions with Voice specifically for their amusement value; they're certainly not actually useful for anything.
I thought some of mine were mistakingly in another language
My point was that Voice turned what was supposed to be serious and somewhat sad into something hilarious. Most of the time it is in the same ballpark of the messages...but this one changed the entire tone of the message.
"gonna" isn't a word, neither is "umm". Just say'n

Worth contacting google for these issues?

I have some issues with my Nexus 4, and I'm sure others have the same issues, but is it worth contacting Google about it and asking for a replacement?
My issues are:
-A faint Hissing/static sound when talking on the phone
- clicking usb port
-Others complain that my voice sounds 'tin-ish' and sometimes unclear. (This doesn't happen always, but apparently if I switch my 3G off, the voice becomes far far better and more clearer)
Am I just being paranoid or are these bugs/issues worth complaining about?

Those reasons and the rattle were why I sold this phone. I think it's pretty much all of them.
