Neither can I. I think it may be a feature of Sense, although I seem to remember seeing the tap to focus thing in a demo of the GNex's camera, so I'm not quite sure.

I am not sure if you can switch to default or anything, but there are heaps of sms apps on the market, a couple of which are pretty good - once installed you can make it the 'default' app, disable notifications in the htc version and away you go.
Using the stock keyboard
I'm not sure what the old keyboard you were looking for looks like, but I was successful at adding the stock keyboard (with voice input) back as noted in my recent post in the thread titled "Froyo 2.2 Keyboard APK" (post 20).
Sense was was a great improvement for WinMo, but the UI kind of sucks (imho) for Android. I upgraded to the FroyoStone update the other day and it seemed more stable (less SoD, that's for sure). But the HTC junk scattered across the UI ruined it for me.
the darkstone thread has a link for the apk of the kb youre looking for. search don't ask they'll bite your head off

[Q] HTC Sense

Hi guys! sorry if this has already been posted, but i really cant find the answer anywhere, and im a heavy reader of the forum.
Is there any way to install HTC Sense by myself on a "no sense" android version?
i know most u guys hate sense, but i find it quite usefull, as it brings a good calendar widget (full screen syncronised with google calendar), the people widget (that syncronises with facebook app automatically) and friendstream (which i like a lot to keep me posted with news, people and tweets updates).
The reason why i dont just install an android version with htc sense already on, is cos i have noticed that all versions with sense, have the camera limited to 3mpx, but the ones running froyo 2.2 can be set at 5 mpx.
sorry if the question has an obvious answer that i couldnt figure out myself.
I'm looking find a solution for this too. I've tried to use some .apk files under /system/app from Desire ported rom but it doesn't work under Nexus One based roms
MattC version includes two cameras 2&5MP
HD2 Energy Cookies ROM, 2.10.50, MattC sense
Sense requires different framework.res and a few other things. It has to be a sense rom to start.(I understand its a major ordeal to add to nonsense rom). So in short it can't be just installed. Hope this helps.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

[Q] Anyone had the perfect set-up yet?

Just wondering?
For me its darkstones latest froyo its the least buggiest, any one else out there with a perfect combo that works for them? users? DEVs?
My WM is WWE 3.14.405.2 (i like it for stability)
I don't think there is an objectively perfect set-up.
However, my setup (see signature) has been perfect for me.

Your right I don't think there is either but it would be interesting what works for someone but might not work for sum1 else, like i might just try yours but it may not be as successful as it has been with your phone.
MattĀ“s Froyo w/Sense 1.8 + Hastarin R 7.6 + Radio 2.12
That combination has been great for me, it only has some minor stuff with Music app (wich i dont use much) and with the camera apps one not launching gallery, but the other displaying a weird "missed call" like image every time you take a picture, that actually its captured fine, just the preview is not working.
Still waiting for a new release with all the good stuff working fine, 720p recording would be just awesome.

i have been looking for something like this but apparently for sense applications to work sense has to be running. So does HTC clicker.

Well I'm not sure but that is a feature of HTC's Sense UI so don't think Cyanogenmod would have it. Maybe there are apps on the Android market?

MIUI has this feature. Go get yourself a MIUI ROM (I prefer langthangs NDT series) and flash it.
To enable quiet ring on pickup -
Go to Dial Pad
Press Menu Key
Select Settings
Select Answer Features
Enable Quiet Ring On Pickup
