Hey!
I photoshoped a bit and wanted to ask if there's anyone who's interested or who has the skills to make it real (and if possible, mod it into CM9!).

thanks for reading.
I would love these
I would love this as well.
Something similar is currently being worked on. More info here: http://opendesign.bbqdroid.org/features/?cat=1&feature=3
Its been at 40% for a while. Hopefully there'll be some updates soon
Try this. Very similar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5ubHVjYXMud3A3bm90aWZpY2F0aW9uc2xpdGUiXQ..
MIUI does it (lock screen notifs) ^^
Maybe post a request here

Its JKay's Deluxe Framework thread which gives you lock screen settings, perhaps with enough requests they will develop what you're looking for.
Of course we would all like this!!!
I really don't understand how android is the best platform when android plain ICS doesn't offer on lockscreen notifications!!!!?!?
How on earth?! Even my nokia can do this!!!
I thought that they'll fix it in ICS but I was wrong! And they didn't even fix it in JB!!!
Very disappointed!
You can to have this with WidgetLocker on Play store

Well yes you can if you get widgetlocker and buy missed it and install the widget on screen!!!
However this is not acceptable!
Think about how many users (probably around 3/4) can't / don't know how to do it!
You should no have a diploma to be able to enable notifications on screen!
Damn this should be by default in the system!
Iphone, symbian (nokia) WP7 and all can do this! I really don't understand why Android doesn't (i know it can but it doesn't)! It needs OEM (HTC, samsung etc..) intervention to be able to deliver that! Which is simply basics!!!
Those Notifications are unnecessary imo. You already have the notification bar, why do you need it twice?
I would understand this if lockscreen would hide the notification bar. Everything else is easy made by widgetlocker.
Amazing idea bro

Seems really great addition if someone is able to do it...

Also, don't like the idea of everyone able to be nosey by seeing all of your notifications, from the lock screen.
I think being able to slide down the notification bar, from the lock screen is a better idea, less mess.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
And make it slide like the iphone not tapping. I know, i know, its gonna be too similar but you have to accept the fact that its accident proof and more clean looking(but this could change with JB animations).

looks very interesting, kind of has me scared on how fast samsung may replace our phones with something else.
It does look interesting, probably more so if the devs find a way to customize the crap out of the secondary screen.
More screen means less battery life.

Ditto. The phone sounds more like a gimmick than something that will catch up. I would prefer a working phone with one screen .

Not necessarily. You may be able to use that little screen instead of the big screen for common tasks and actually save battery.
I do sort if think it's a gimmick though. I'd rather have one screen with soft buttons a la the archos.

Looks gross
...they're still shipping new phones with 2.1. what the hell!?
It probably ships with the GPS bug, too.
Not impressed because of the manufacturer.
I'm kind of wondering if it's really just one big screen with a dead strip separating the two sections... Since there isn't any backlighting involved, there is no "cost" to only use part of a screen...

I agree. It looks very interesting which raises a lot of questions.
Hopefully, JeremyNT's thoughts prove right and you can turn off the big screen and use the small screen for caller ID, notifications etc., as the article did mention.
i dont like it, not abit, why they had to change this and that when company like verizon and att get a phone, a nice looking phone and they turn it into this!
looks cool here are better pics
I'm liking how it uses bottom screen for notifications

So we need a phone with the time and icons in the notification bar, on a homescreen widget, and at the bottom? How about a digital clock on the top, both sides, bottom and back so when I want to know what time it is...I really fu©kin know what time it is. Sheesh.

Obviously the bottom screen is customizable just like your home screen you dont need to use a clock widget
But yea Ive always wondered why people need clock widget when time is on top, guess its eye candy.
IMO this idea it actually handy and like others said it probably consumes less battery by just using bottom screen and not having to turn on top for minor use and notification...ect
What a perfect spot to display ads too....
I was wondering if anybody has had any luck

every time i make one it force closes
no matter what i name the theme it changes the name
to 26.0...
it does show up in the list of themes and installs just fine
but then it force closes.
i have done many for the desire HD / Z

I was curious to see a "native theme" and to see if it asked for any Permissions when I went to install it.
It installed and I am able to select the theme and it even applied (pretty nice, even the icons are sans-backgrounds) but it's been showing as "Installing..." the entire time...

I did a Restart to see if that would kill the ongoing "Installing..." progress and that took care of it. I'll email the Developer and I figured I'd post my experience here, in case anyone ran into the same *issue.
It's a pretty slick looking theme, although the circuit board image is a bit too much for me. I like the clear icons and the Android-green throughout. I'll ditch the circuit board lock image, but it persists throughout (e.g. in the App Tray).
Some screen shots...
I'm one of the few that actually likes the mySense/TMO twist on Sense and while I've tried LP and ADW, I'm quite happy with stock. Standard issue just feels better sometimes.
I also realized some might not like the images posted inline, but I'm a fan of not having to click to open an image (unless it's got a thickbox wrapper).
I talked to the developer of this theme also (really nice guy)
He did an amazing job on it.
but the green is not my thing so i have been talking to him about how he was able to make it. (only one i have seen)
he said it has to be done by source so im looking into that.
i would love to start making themes for the my touch 4g.
i dont have the phone im just working on a port for the incredible and would like to make some themes for all the people using the port and would post them here also.

So should I assume that ios is better off than Android..atleast for this feature....sad but true :-(

It's just an app , not tied to OS , if there is enough demand developers will make them, need to screen app market once in a while.
Try The Accuweather app from market,That allows you to have weather on your Notification bar

no offence to anyone....but all I mean is that apple copied the notifications functionality from Android, but made it bit better....and our Devs can take some ideas from Apple and make it much better considering we have open source
its all healthy competition ( except the stupid lawsuits )
so... could any motivated Dev in the house please stand up
This isn't Weather or Stocks...but it can be pretty handy...

Isn't good if you got a black notification bar, because you can't change the text color to white (or something else...)
Try Palmary Weather (free): https://market.android.com/details?id=com.palmarysoft.forecaweather&hl=en
Menu -> More -> Enable temperature notification
Also happens to be a very nice weather app.

HD WIDGETS!!!!!
This thread has been inspired by... animatechnica
Now you'll have two threads where people won't read the OP and still ask.
haha AWESOME...
I have to admit, I was one of the guys that asked this last week when I first flashed Task 5.0. Loving the HD Widgets, makes my Tab look like my HTC Thunderbolt with Sense 3.0 and the flip clock. love it!

You can do this with Nova launcher (prime).. but you have to get their tesla unread plugin or an app called Missed It. They are paid though..
I think ADW launcher has a plugin that does something similar as well.

I agree with OP. Just because it's on the play store doesn't mean anyone can find it. You need to figure out the keyword for finding the relevant apps, which isn't always obvious. If you don't want to answer, just don't. No one is forcing you, so stop acting all high and mighty.
tl;dr Go away and don't come back.
