Here is a good news... If this is right then hopes are still alive...
http://www.tweaktown.com/news/24750...evices_will_get_jelly_bean_upgrade/index.html
Well they will give us the 4.1 update .They gave S1 2.1->2.2->2.3. And after that the device was 2 years old to get the 4.0 update !
S2 won't be getting it according to this link:
http://www.appsgeyser.com/163856?
It's either Samsung is being hypocritical or the link is not true because the nexus has less benchmarks scores than S2, yet has jelly bean.

You need to stop reading that blog mate. That blog spread false rumor. Like the sgs2 won't get 4.0.4 while sammobile says we will. Better stick to trusted sources mate.

Even Android 5.0 will be made availaible by samsung for S2.
Phone: XWLPD
Modem: DDLP8
Kernel: Siyah 3.3.2
Theme: ICS Domination + 15 Toggles
Launcher: Apex Launcher
I don't see why not since the phone (if I remember correctly) has comparable/better performance than the Nexus. Plus in places like the US, the S2 has been out for only just under a year. Considering carriers here still sell phones as old as the iPhone 3GS, I'd say the S2 still has some considerable life left and it'd be foolish not to support the phone and its users.
That being said, it may still take a while before the carriers decide to allow their versions of JB onto the S2. I think AT&T just last week released ICS for their S2

Random blog quotes another random blog, neither of which contain a source, but do contain speculation about a possible maybe event that might one day sort of occur in the future? I guess you can't go wrong with a statement like that. Next post: Samsung to announce new phone sometime this year.

What would be your best guess as to when a Android 4.1 Rom will be available for the GS III? I am planning on buying the GS III next week but now that the Galaxy Nexus is $349, it's kinda tempting to get the Nexus if I have to wait months before I get 4.1 on the S III. I want the extra smoothness of 4.1.

If you want the latest updates from google go with the nexus...its always going to be officially supported and updated before any other handset, even flagship ones like the S III....I'm glad I have one, that said I also ordered a GS III just to have the latest thing.

I bet it won't be terribly long for even a stock version to be released by Samsung. ICS was a major overhaul to the OS from Gingerbread and Honeycomb. Jelly Bean is just looking like enhancements and performance improvements to ICS.

Nice find. Thanks for posting. It has Learning Hub so that's finally being released (at least in Germany). There's still no Reader's Hub or Social Hub. It also said "pen removed" in the quick settings so its got at least one of the Note 2's features ported over. If Google Now only works in portrait mode that will suck. It was fast and fluid but it had no apps or widgets running; the real test to see if there's a difference is when we all load it up with the crap we use everyday.
Yes I am pretty much expecting us to get JB and the full Note 2.0 treatment. Reason being that Samsung will want 10.1 owners to also own the Note 2 as our phone so the devices need to be highly compatible.
Also they probably don't want to deal with 10.1 owners *****ing them out 24/7.

This is what made me question it...
I also think it'll add more value on a 3G Note than a Wi-Fi because it'll be online all the time and Google Now can collect more behavioral info. I haven't used it yet so still don't fully understand what it does, how it does it, or why I need it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

+1, Just because it says it will have an update, well it means nothing. Could be next year ...... Could be next week.I wouldn't get excited about it just yet lol.
I have tested leaked 4.1.1 on my p3100
tested for few hours and reverted to cm9
stock rom uses 100MB more ram, gui not so smooth
but sound seems to be better quality (more details at high frequencies) and bluetooth headset connects faster
I don't trust it. I was told every quarter for almost a year that my photon 4g was getting ICS, they recently changed their minds last minute.

I Just Have One question i would love to put it directly to Samsung,
Why is the rollout of JB talking so long, since these devices (GT - P5110 ) have the source code released and no carrier to slow down the rollout ?
Are we to believe that the phone company's can roll out quicker than the device manufacturer on some products? how can this be ?
Samsung has known issues with her reflects concerning customer care services, such as the update to JB for the GT-51XX series. Same thing happened with the SGS 1 and icecream sandwich. First we would get the update (rumoured), then no update (official statement), then the value pack(official statement), then no value pack(rumoured), finally one day we saw value pack rolling out... Great reflectsSamsung

Arc S appeared as testing device for next Android update a few days ago, Engadget now just confirm that these devices had accessed their server and be logged.
Sooner or later, we will see a, or even some Nexus devices with Android 4.2, and with that confirmation, we can believe that in the fututre, we could flash some 4.2 ROMs on our Arc/S.

Every one, who has rooted ROM, can change his phone, so it would show Android version other than default one. You can even put 5.9 if you want.
Sony has an 18-month thing about updating phones after release. I honestly believe they'll update Arc S/Neo V/ Neo L to Jelly Bean... Good thing is that we can port it hahaha.

no chance of KLP
key lime pie is still a rumour and hasnt even been released... so no chance.....
and if they bring JB to ARC S/NEO V/NEO L... it will run on a different kernel.. as JB requires the 3.0 kernel...
porting to the other devices becomes more difficult due to the change in API levels and other software issues..
I wait
