I must humbly ask for everyone's help. I bought a Galaxy S3 (Sprint) today and rooted no problem. I downloaded font changer and Rom Toolkit. I changed a font and clicked "reboot" and the phone hung on the reboot screen--after the sprint logo and says "Samsung" with the blue light going up and down in intensity.
I tried a cache clear and data wipe, neither of those worked. I also tied reflashing the root ROM. That didn't work.
My most recent steps were to flash the stock recovery and stock ROM. It still hangs. I can get to recovery and am able to flash with ODIN. What should I do next?!
If nothing else, is there a way to reset the flash counter so I can maybe get Sprint to fix it? The only way I saw is to download an app, which won't work.
Any help is appreciated, I've tried all that I could think of.
1. Wrong section. .
2. Do your homework, changing fonts on ics causes boot loops. Gonna a have to flash to stock with Odin sorry :/
3. Triangle away.

I try to fix this phone and this is the problem. Somebody flash a AT&T (I think Samsung Captive stock) rom and now the phone put AT&T logo at the first boot. I use odin for restore to stock vibrant but still appear the At&t logo first and next the vibrant logo. If anyone can give me some tips I will apreciate that.
\Thanks
I would try eugenes "froyo that does not brick" rom. Use odin to flash it. It seems to solve alot of problems. Just an idea. If it works you should be able to flash stock after that. Follow the directions eugene gives regarding it. Good luck.
Let me know if it works.

I did that too. I used Eugene and the stock tar but still whit the problem. The phone have everything good except the At&t logo. I try to delete the file with root explorer but i dont know where is it.
Maybe try one of the new Team Whiskey roms? They replace the boot image. Out of ideas if that doesn't work.

So the phone works fine you are trying to remove the AT&T logo from the boot animation?
In root explorer scroll down to system> media> once in there there should be a boot animation.zip that is the boot animation. Try reading this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732311
it tells you how you can change the boot and shutdown animations and sounds.
flash a different kernel.
What you are seeing is the ATT logo attached to the SBL.
You will need to flash this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2R2XOZ0X
it is a update.zip from a stock Vibrant.
Place it on the root of your SD and boot into stock recovery
adb reboot recovery
reinstall packages
This will flash the Vibrant SBL and will fix the ATT logo on your vibrant.
You'll want to reinstall CWM through rom manager afterwords.

This just worked for me, thank you so much!!!
Thank goodness for this thread to fix and remove the AT&T logo and this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793693&page=2) to revive a bad flash done on my part. I accidentally flashed Eugene's Ginger Clone R5 for the Samsung Captivate onto a Samsung Vibrant. Stupid me that I didn't check whether the Ginger Clone was for the Samsung Vibrant. Of course, that soft bricked the phone. It would looped into AT&T logo and Samsung logo. By the way, krylon360's instruction stated that flashing should be done from stock recovery. This can actually done by rebooting into Clockwork's recovery and flashed from there, provided that update.zip is placed on the internal sdcard (don't replace Clockwork's update.zip, rename it to something else temporary).
I'm needing stock Kernel and rom for the continuum. cant tell you weather dj17 or 20, and needing files to be flashable via odin. phone goes to stock recovery screen and wont boot CWM. Needing this cause the links in the other threads are broken.
Thank you!
Continue of prior post.
Phone is stuck on boot loop to samsung, will go to stock recov and download mode. when do wipe data/factory reset, it goes into the loop agian. How can i fix this. Another question is if i want to go with a standard mod rom like peteralfonso's, other than loosing the ticker, are there any other issues to be expected. I can think of a few because i dont think the kernel would be compatible. Personally, i dont care about the ticker and think it's stupid. would rather have froyo or GB. Has anyone flashed one of those roms successfuly?
Don't try to flash any roms that aren't specific for the Continuum. It won't work.

It's not because I tried to install custom rom, it's because i tried to install cwm from rom manager. Was wanting to do a cw recovery before i did anything to the phone. Can someone pm me the stock rom, or as close to stock as possible, rooted would be ok. Fortanitly VZW is sending me another phone because of the 14 day no hassel gaurentee.

do you still the files? and what files specifically?
Do a factory reset. I had the same problem after flashing to get CWM. Also, you'll boot into the stock recovery. The confirm button is now the menu softkey, so you select the update.zip for cwm, and run it with the menu soft key. Once in cwm, the power button is the confirm button and the back softkey is to navigate back through the menus. I hope this helps!
It this doesn't help, I have an Odin image for bone-stock, unrooted, as well as stock, rooted. I haven't uploaded anywhere, but I could, possibly tomorrow.
I am having similar issues except when i try a factory reset it hangs up on formatting "/scard/.android_secure..."
Also when i load recovery it says it cane mount /cahce/recovery/command, /cache/recovery/log
any ideas?
Nevermind.
Hello, My desperation level is at it's climax.
I got my hands on "Galaxy S4 Black Edition GT-I9050" I wanted to install kitkat firmware, i did everything as usual, i deleted the system folder on my S4, When i wanted to install the ROM, I found out that my phone was not reading the SD Card on Recovery Mode... Clockwork recovery mode. I formatted my SD Card in all formats, FAT,Etc. Still no hope, Than i wanted to restore to the original firmware by flashing the phone with odin, because my phone wont boot, it's stuck at the boot screen.
I downloaded countless firmwares, some of them Fail at MDM, and other fail right of the bat
Things that i have done:
Installed Samsung Drivers, uninstalled them.
Tried Different USB Hubs, Cables.
Tried many versions of Odin.
Nothing works.. I am really sad.
My Device: Galaxy S4 Black Edition
Model: GT-I9505
Problem, Unable to Flash Back/Phone stuck at boot screen
PS: I did research on how to restore stock firmware, etc, But nothing helps.
I really need your help! Cheers
I believe, and don't quote me on it, but that the black edition version of the s4 have slightly different firmware. Have you looked on sammobile for firmware specified for the black edition?

What happens when you try to flash with a different recovery? Try Philz or TWRP.
But the Black Editions model number is i9506, no?

Things that i did:
1. Start your phone in CWM Recovery
2. Go to Advanced
3. Choose “Wipe dalvik-cache”
4. Now go to “Mounts & Storage”
5. Choose “Wipe /cache”
6. Reboot your phone
When i turn on my phone, i see the boot and on the top left corner i see a msg which says;
KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit: Kernel
Quick update, I finally managed to install Android 4.4 KITKAT Via SideLoad, It loaded fine, but now im facing another problem which is the Touch Screen is not working at all in the welcome menu. What could be the issue?

Just do a factory reset in the recovery, but don't install the rom again.

Hi All,
My phone does not go into recovery mode no matter how much I try. I tried re-flashing the recovery through Odin, but its the same thing. On startup it says in Blue at the top "Entering Recovery..." or whatever and the screen goes black.
Let me give you a background on this - I had cm11 nightly installed for months now. Today I decided to try the cm12 and without thinking through, just made a nandroid backup and dirty flashed cm12 over it. Now there are so many force stops, google play wont work, crashes, error reports, etc etc. I am not even able to flash gapps for lollipop because now I cant even get into recovery.
Please help me out in this, I am really stuck. I dont care about any of my data, I just want my phone back. Please help me factory reset the phone or wipe system of the phone.
Only positive is that My phone goes into Download mode and gets recognised by Odin, so I can flash any file I have to. Please help!
I am now trying to flash a stock rom. Fingers crossed, but if you guys have any alternate methods then please let me know. Thanks!
Regards,
A sad user :/
You may very well want to try flashing a stock rom/kernal via odin and starting fresh. re-root reinstall recovery, and flash your backup From there. You should be able to find your stock kernel and rom over at sammobile.com/firmwares
Thats really the only option there is.

Flashing the stock rom, then flashing recovery and cm12 rom worked....had a few hiccups finally got it working...thanks to all of you!
I rooted my cousin's samsung galaxy tab 4 (sm-t330nu) afterwards I tried to install Root Browser but then the tab froze so I thought a simple glitch or something, so I turned it of. Then the bootloop happened. I tried factory reset, wipe cache, but none worked... I tried to get as much information like using odin, but I really don't know what to do. I tried flashing TWRP- T330.TWRP.2.8.3.0.img then I made it to T330.TWRP.2.8.3.0.tar.md5 using a tool, flash using odin v3.07, but i cannot boot into it. Tried using philz touch recovery but I think the version I used wasn't meant for the tab. This is my first time handling android so I really don't know much.
Can you guys post a simple step by step on how to use any recovery tool (CMW/ TWRP/ PTR/ etc) or any kind of way to fix this bootloop? I'm just frustrated spending three night trying to understand the whole procedures. I'm going to try doing a hard reset though. correct me if I'm wrong but does flashing a custom rom a surefire way to fix it?
Thanks in advance

I'm by no means an expert. I just dabble when there is something particular I want to do, but I had a similar problem earlier and managed to fix it using odin. I have the sm-t330nu as well and I was trying to move an app to the system apps folder. When I went to reboot I got the bootloop. I installed odin and flashed the same rom I had before and it solved the problem. Before you flash in odin your device needs to be in the correct mode. Press the power button then press home volume down and power button to get the download custom rom screen then press the volume up button to continue. That should take you to the odin mode download screen and from there you can flash in odin on your pc once odin has detected your device. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! But what did you mean by "the same rom"?
go to twrp reboot settings, select bootloader and reflash via odin your device to its original stock rom. This will bring your device to its original settings without root and custom recovery. This is the solution I've done to my device. At least I can still use my device instead of other ways in trying to solve this custom recovery boot loop cause by incompatibility or no version of twrp made available to samsung galaxy tab 4.8.0 sm-t330nu.
