Cool trick for SGSIII - Galaxy S III General

Go to Settings > About device > keep tapping Android version
Press and hold the android..
And watch all the androids take over your screen
I am aware that some know about this, but for those who did not know.. enjoy!!

NICE

Same with the S2 except you get a giant freaky one

This is nothing Samsung-special but an Android easter-egg they've first implemented several versions back.
I'm not sure if the 1.x Versions already had it but 2.x for sure.

ha, that made me chuckle

Once you have the android on your screen tap an hold him and see.....

made my day

Haha awesome!

It does the same thing on the Jelly Bean OS. On that one a screen comes up with a bunch of jelly beans that you can swipe off the screen.

Nyandroid

Yea, it's pretty neat. :highfive:

Nice, can't imagine Apple ever doing anything like that.

Honeycomb Easter Egg, REZZZZZ...

Discovered this last night, go to Settings > About Tablet, and repeatedly tap on "Android Version 3.1". It certainly isn't as scary as Gingerbread's Easter Egg, but it's a nice touch.

Not long, about 5 seconds? But you have to do it really fast.
Well I can only tap on "Android version 3.01" (yep 10.1v) but it works. Nice find.
Very cool!!
Nice info...thanks

I could only get it to work once. . . . after that nothing happens when i tap on it.
Same here - one-time event only.
It works everytime for mine.
To get this to work, in "About", scroll all the way down and then start tapping the Android version. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to work.

If you're having trouble getting it to work, do a two or three finger tap. Two fingers about an inch apart, and tap them at the same time as fast as you can. Usually pops up in the first few taps.
cool. works for me more than once too. thx
Ok, so it worked for me but I have to ask...what would possess someone to sit there and try this in the first place?

Thought it was fake too. Patents and such as Pulser mentioned there will be legality issues with porting this onto a non HTC phone.

I cant talk for others, but for me, i wanted the design of SGS2 plus the hardware with Sense.
Ive had 3 HTC phones and none of them could keep up with the speed, not even with Cyanogenmod on them.
So yeah... The smoothness of SGS2 with Sense UI.

Galaxy s3 improved notification :)

So I got my galaxy s3 just a week back and I was playing nova 3 when I discovered this feature. Just like on iPhone. Look at the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=ihDW-7f6CbI
and yes iphone did copy android first
I thought ICS has always been like that??
Wouldn't know this is my first ics device was on Htc Evo 3d before
That's excellent.
Deebo took your bike too?!

Notification bar trick

This is actually a tip I stumbled upon.
Anywhere you are in full screen mode, without access to notification bar (such as viewing pix in gallery) you can swipe down where the notification should be and it will indeed reveal itself. Enjoy!

No I'm not ignorant to android I been an android user since eclair, if you try that on stock gnex(ICS 4.0.4) it won't go down but if you do it on io5 a little tab will come out to grab down, just like the feature to tap twice on top of the phone to go to the top on Touchwiz, is been on iPhone but you just tap the notification bar, so yeah there is features on Touchwiz that had always try to copy ios, and ios try to copy android, I'm a user of both OSs and ain't going to tell you this one is better then that other because is not truth, I like both, but no and iPhone for ios, I preferred it on my ipad, so yup

No. iOS and Android operate in a whole different way. iOS is also restricted for the hardware it's made for. iOS is also crap.
The closest to iOS you can come on android, however, would be MIUI.
Why the hell would anyone want that archaic POS on our awesome phone? Even if it was possible why would anyone want to????
if you want iOS then do what anyone else would do and buy an iPhone and become one of the many iSheep of the world (isn't it time they were culled anyway?)
Why would you want to do that? not 1 aspect of iOS is open source.
