Anyone ever put a data-only sim card in their phone? Would it work as expected - i.e. you can surf the net and use apps that require data, but not make calls?

I've a question
Is it possible to use 2 sim's in the 2020 and use 1 for permanent gprs access and the other for my regular phone conversations without swapping the sims in any program all the time.
This because my vodafone charches me for every minute i use gprs and T-mobile offers a 10euro package for unlimited gprs time. so if its possible i'll aply for a Tmobile gprs package.
Nobody ?
No.
AFAIK you can only access one sim at a time, with either physical dual sim adaptors or multi-sim copiers.

I have a n6682(Cingular Go-phone) and a Nokia70(Cingular contract)
I am going to get a new phone within a week.I want to use the unlocked phone with the sim card from the n6682-will this work?Unlocked phones work with any service right? The only reason i want to use the go-phone sim card is because i am just going to use the new phone just for connection purposes. Will this work as long as i have a sim card?
Hi,
I have bought a Spice D1100 a dual sim WM 6.0 professional handset.
I have a strange problem,
I have a Sim card A which is a corporate sim card which i use for Data access and Sim Card B which a personal sim used only for voise and text
If i put Sim Card A in the master slot (only this slot can access data) the sim card de registers from the network and i get a no service icon (this happens intermittently) but it works well without any issues in the slave slot (No data Access)
Sim Card B works great in both slots
Any solutions???

GPRS
Hi Vijay
I Am also using the same and found out that in the master slot u need to have a card which is GPRS enabled to surf the net and in slave u can have other it is the feature of the cell donno why is it so. But us can change the mode accordingly i.e A-B or B-A this will solve your issue.
I've not had a dual SIM phone and am wondering if SMS/MMS from both lines will come over the data plan from just one SIM card or if both SIM cards must have a data plan. Anyone know?
I've searched and can't find an answer - maybe I'm not using good search terms for this.
Thanks!

Essential only has one SIM.
????
This is a single sim phone, not a dual sim...
Basically, I'm grandfathered in on a great plan with only a gig of data. I'm also grandfathered in with another company for unlimited data, no voice service.
Is it possible to use one sim for calling and the other for data. And when I get into areas not covered by the unlimited data sim switch over to the first sim with better coverage?
Thanks for any advice.
You should be able to set the first Sim for voice calling and the second sim for mobile data from settings, connections, dual sim
Yes!
I used my Vodafone sim for data and everything else goes through my EE sim.
Once you have the second sim in, slide down from the top and you'll see options for SIM1 and SIM2
