One of the first things I noticed.
Settings > About Device > Status > Device Status
Out of the box it said “Factory Mode“. Now that I'm rooted it says "Modified".
Guess this makes it a lot easier for reps to check for root if you bring in a device with a problem.
Damn I see... Ummm interesting

My aunt got a Galaxy S 4 for a new pishone upgrade and hsad some questions about it. I thought that the gesture tracking would have been the air gesture thing that samsung had implemented. Apparently it isnt. That serviceis disabled on the phone, but the feature is still happening on the lockscreen. So i am not sure how to disable it or get it to stop happening. I didnt see any option about it in the settings menu.
Apologize for any grammar or spelling, typing this out on a tablet with no spell check.
Don't believe it's possible yet.

That doesn't seem to do it.
I don't have the phone with me anymore, but, that was the first thing I did and that didn't seem to solve the issue.
Air View was also disabled.

This may be a dumb question but I'm new to the N10 and tablets and can't find the answer.
How come sometimes I can't get a menu to come up? For instance when I am in my launcher (Nova right now but it was the same on chameleon and others) I can't get into the launcher settings. Nova has a out-of-date 3 dot menu button that works around it but other apps don't.
Also in eye in the sky weather I can't access settings to change from C to F for the units. On my phonemic just hit the menu button and I'm there.
I'm on rootbox if that helps but I ran into the same thing when I was on stock.
I'm sure this is user error on my part but any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about nova. But with eye in the sky, the menu button is in the top right on the action bar. Its using the 4.0+ api so the menu button doesn't appear.

This is driving me nuts...there must be something I'm missing. I have no menu in anything that should have one.

you did a full wipe when you installed?
Edit 1. I think I figured it out you need to go to aokp settings > General UI and make sure that Show Menu UI Overflow is checked then restart your tablet and it shoud reappear.

This'll enable it for sure- I did the same thing on Rootbox when I put it on my tab.

When you personalize the lock screen, you have the personal message then under that the time, then the date. My question is how do you get the date to show up? Both boxes are checked for date and time but the date field is completely blank. I've tried checking then uncheck the box and save, turned off personalized lock screen then turned back on. Multi widgets are not enabled either. Guessing a setting maybe that I'm missing. Any ideas?????

I checked both the time and date in the Edit personal information option and both are showing on my lock screen. Have you tried rebooting since you chose your options? They should be showing if you checked them.

I don't use it very often but I do like one handed operation. Today I realized that it wasn't working so I started undoing all the mods/setup I've been working on. Turns out it was lightflow. I can disable it in accessibility options and one hand operation immediately starts working.
Are there any other decent led control apps to try?
Thought I'd post here to hopefully save anyone else the trouble if they run into the same problem.

It seems like having anything enabled under Accessibility kills one-handed mode.
But Light Flow is working for me without the Accessibility setting. There's a new setting called Notification Access in the Security section.
Try enabling Light Flow there and see if it works. As I said, mine is working that way, but I'm also rooted, so maybe that has something to do with it...
Yeah it was enabled there too. Maybe there's just something wrong with mine because my wife just informed me that hers is working find and all she did was install it and forget about it. I had to enable options I've never used before like the one to make the led flash even when the screen is on, in order to get or to do anything at all.
I'm rooted too.

Make sure that you have the LED settings under 'Settings' > 'Display' to have "Charging" and "Notifications" checked along with the checkbox in 'Security' > 'Notification Access'.

Lol, looks like that was my problem. For some reason I thought they all needed to be turned off so I did that initially and didn't even think to revisit it.
Thanks.
So we don't need to enable it in accessibility? Cuz that ruins most features. Makes you disable them.

Mine is currently disabled in Accessibility and enabled in Security -> Notification Access. In Display -> LED indicator, I have Charging, and Notifications checked.
Working like a charm.
Works good this way with or without root. Just installed.opened.enabled the notification access. And use. Doesn't need enabled in accessibility.

In my S3 they had to be disabled in stock settings to work. In this they need to be enabled in stock settings for it to work. I know lightflow told me to disable it in stock settings on the S3.

Can someone check to see if this is available on your Verizon phone?
Go to settings on your "Phone" and find security, inside there find "Notification Access"
I am trying something on my gear watch and the stock LG G2. I am unable to find Notification access.
Notification access will let me list apps that can be notified of course. The guy who gave me the path to it wont respond with what carried his LG G2 is on or if its stock/rooted.
Below is what I am following to try and make this happen.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567781&page=5
There is no "phone" setting. There is a "call" setting, and a "security" setting. But they are separate (not call> security> etc) , and neither have a "notification access" setting. So not sure what that guy is talking about. Isn't gear only compatible with Samsung devices?

Well....technically but where there is a will there is a way. :victory: I dont get all the notifications because you really need 4.3 to make the root and rom shine.
Just installed NotifierPro Free version and its settings - > service menu gives me access to the "noticication access" system menu that LG hid.
