Hi everybody,
I'm new to this forum and I'm in deep troubles...
I was trying to install CM9 on my Galaxy Tab 7 (German / europe version).
I was following this official guide here:
wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide
After installing the ClockWorkMod recovery (the installation did not report any error), the tab has rebooted and gets stuck at the samsung logo image.
I've tried to boot in recovery mode and do a factory reset but nothing changed.
The tab was original from samsung with latest updates installed from kies. No root, no other custom roms installed.
Can someone help me please?
Thanks in advance, Luca.
Boot into download mode, flash to stock firmware, flash Overcome kernel, put CM9 on sdcard and flash in recovery (CWM).
Go to the Overcome thread, follow links to guide/files etc.
Same issues
Luca, I'm on the same situation, if you have solved this issue please let me know, I've done exactly what you did and I'm on the same problem, thanks !
Problem solved
Same problem after updating to Cyanogenmod 9 RC1.
So I went back to the Restock Package of Overcome (can't inser links as it's forbidden for forum beginners...!?!) and overcome kernel 4.0.0.
So put the tablet with power+volume down and connecting with usb cable to download mode (triangle construction sign).
Then load .pit, .tar and modem.bin with Odin3 on the tab. After rebooting to 2.3.6 power off and again download mode and flash kernel 4.0.0
On the german android-hilfe site search for ' ICS CM9 Version 4.0.4 MTD' for explanations. There was a c't article with more links called 'Entwurzelt: Samsung galaxy tab root und flash'
After restart of 2.3.6 restock package I downloaded latest nightly built and the google apps (see explanations on Android-hilfe) and with some trying (flashed the rom twice?) I got back to the newest ICS on my SGT-P1000. Even camera is working now.
Good luck!
Flash the overcome kernel for P1000 using either Odin or heimdall. Go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik.
Did this to mine and after following above technique it worked.

if you manage to get into recovery, try to flash cm9 again, it will probably fix your problem.
if you rather flash JVU to start over again, dont forget for the small installation that comes after the odin process to end before flashing any custom kernel.
Imilka ICS repack -> GB - boot and modem .bin files failing when flashing from Odin?
(also posted in Dr Ketan's stock ROMs topic)
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have a bit of a problem which I fairly desperately need your help to fix. Reading about how dangerous the ICS leak/repack was, I decided to bite the bullet and downgrade to GB before installing the CM9 nightly. I read up around it, including preparing all the tools (Odin etc), ROM (stock 2.3.6 ROM from sammobile), kernel (CF-root KJ1, latest) etc.
Booted device into download and proceeded to flash stock ROM. FactoryFS done, good. modem.bin ERRORED! bad. OK, I thought, try another ROM without modem. Only there aren't many (any?) that don't have either boot.bin or modem.bin, and they take an age to download from hotfile...
Tried flashing Chainfire's KJ1 factoryFS - flashes fine but on restart it just sits there sparking Android's belly!
I then saw Dr.Ketan's post re stock ICS and how it would flash boot.bin and modem.bin as supplied, so tried that too - same problem, it won't flash boot or modem. I've tried flashing individual bits too, but because the CODE has one of those files, it fails.
I am loath to having to manual repack the code part without boot/modem myself, as I haven't touched my Linux VM since I stopped developing the N1 battery calibration bits, and it would be learning about md5checksums etc too - given my backup Android device is dropping the cell network every minute, I really need my Note back to working perfection (as it was with IMILKA's CM9 build - dang, I wish I'd not flashed yesterday!!)
So at present I have a useless Note which I need help resuscitating - any advice, options please? I guess PM me if I'm being dumb or it's likely to get too off-topic...
I had a problem when going to back to GB to flash ParanoidAndroid. When I rebooted after flashing via PC odin. It wouldn't let me go past the configuration options.
After flashing lots of GB firmwares I finally read I had to go into recovey mode and make a factory reset and wipe caches.
After this I was able to get into GB, root, install recovery and flash ParanoidAndroid

For the record, I have muddled through and solved this issue. Steps I took:
boot into Download mode
Odin flash the 16Gb PIT file only
then Odin flash CSC file (from Dr.Ketan's ICS) only
Reboot
It restarted into ICS with Samsung bits so I knew it had updated (Imilka's ROM)
Then I reflashed Chainfire's KJ1 in Odin, then in recovery flashed CM9 and gapps, rebooted. Then flashed latest CF-root from recovery.
All working well, apart from gmail not marking messages read despite a clearing of it's data and cache!
</phew>
Hi guys. First of all it's gonna be my first thread. That's way I wanna say hello to everyone. Anyway. I just tried to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy S Gt-I9000 to ICS 4.0 and I followed pinappu. hubpages. com/hub/Samsung-Galaxy-S-firmware-update-to-Android-40-aka-Ice-Cream-Sandwich instructions. My phone installed the upgrading files successfully. After rebooting my phone didn't turn on. I can't start my phone even in recovery mode but download mode is working. What should I do?
Yours

Sorry for my lexical and grammatical errors. English isn't my native language.
Boot into download and flash a GB rom through Odin. Then flash a kernel with CWM (like Semaphore). Download any ICS rom zip file and flash it twice (it will bootloop or reboot recovery after the first flash).
The instructions and links to tutorials/videos for installing roms are usually in the rom's OP so you can just follow that.

Thank you for your reply. I just flashed GB 2.3.6 rom and now my phone is working. Thank you. I'm not sure about ICS anymore
If you only want the appearance of ICS use SauROM and then flash the ICS theme. It looks just like ICS but is obviously still GB.
When bootloop or no CWM occurs after flashing from GB -> ICS:
-remove battery
-download a ICS kernel to your PC.
eg. Semaphore ICS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21910951
-start Odin and put .tar in PDA field. Untick repartition.
-insert battery and go download mode.
-connect usb to PC and flash ICS kernel.
Next boot of phone should be normal ICS.
So i wanted to flash a custom ROM but it wasn't stable.I decided to wait longer for a more stable version but i couldn't wait any longer and flashed the ROM even though there were some Known issues.
i flashed using TWRP and it was a success.Well..i forgot to factory wipe and have ended up with a stuck Samsung display screen(with a red exclamation mark top left of the screen) just before the Samsung logo animation would always appear.I then downloaded a pre-rooted stock ROM(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2690270)
flashed it with Odin but no avail.I then tried to change the recovery to CWM using Odin but still no avail.I then flashed back to TWRP recovery and wiped OS and cache.then re-flashed the pre-rooted ROM but same results..Lastly i tried sending the pre-rooted stock ROM to the SD card using ADB but it wont even install the ROM as it says Failed every time.Any help would be appreciated
You should have never done that
HELLO,well you are sooo unlucky mate. You shouldn't install cm11 since the developing of this app has closed.(everyone is working on cm12,which is not made for GT-I9060i).
possibly solutions:
1)go to sammobile and search for you phone.
2)download latest STOCK NOT PRE-ROOTED rom.
3)open your phone and wipe all data + cache-dalvic
4)download samsung galaxy grand neo plus usb drivers for pc - (or kies)
5)put your phone in downloading mode (POWER BUTTON+HOME BUTTON+VOLUME DOWN BUTTON)
6)open ODIN (samsung version of ODIN)
6)select the firmware you downloaded.(unzip it first)
7)connect your phone to pc (after installed drivers or kies)
8)press start
DONE :good::good::good:
IF THIS DIDN'T WORK YOU HAVE PROBLEM IN HARDWARE :crying:.
GO GET A HAMMER AND SMASH THE PHONE SINCE IT COSTS MORE TO FIX IT :good:
