Major Flashing Issue not working HELP!! - Galaxy S I9000 General

I have Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (International) i had on Eclair Stock 2.1 upgraded through Kies to 2.2 then learnt (haha) to Flash i followed this Tutorial to Flash my Phone
http://www.youtube.com/user/TechSaviSolution?blend=2&ob=1#p/u/2/f9VcWWMMh8Y
(Continueing onto Part 2)
then mate of min looked at it to flash knowing more than me and we sucha faff Basically using Odin v1.3 we Flashed firmware JPY and then we flashed the firmware below to Root the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
also successfully downgrading to Recovery Console 2e this allowing us to finally get ClockworkMod Recovery Loading we then flashed the Darkys v8.0 NO WIPE ROM and seemed to all be going fine until we got into a constant Boot Animation loop, tried downlaoding the Wipe but it would not install, so on my own i started fresh Flashing JPY again and then Root Firmware above and same issue, now when i Flash the Stock JPY and boot to try and get a working phone it hangs in a aloop randomly vibrating at the Boot animation. Also when i Flash the Root it does not show clockwork recovery only the Recovery Console 2e, Please Help

sorry Mods biggest n00b forum post error ever could you move this to the Q&A Section thought i was in it

managed to fix it guys seemed to be an error with my Internal SD Card i flashed 2.1 Firmware and then the correct PIT and then flashed newer 2.2.1 firmware and kernel, then flashed darkys rom and working all guud

Just goes to show, once you've broken your phone you may as well keep trying and (usually) eventually you'll get it working again! God bless the internet!

Backup your /efs folder, backup EVERYTHING, just in case... I'm paranoid so I did it all
ROM NOTES:
Got deodexed from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11256520&postcount=1
Modem:
KC1
Busybox:
1.18.4
Hosts file updated for ad blocking using:
http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
Here's the steps I followed:
Save all files to folder/desktop
Connect phone via usb and copy JVH_KC1_BMC.zip to root of sdcard
Restart phone in download mode
Open Odin and click PDA
Select Speedmod tar file
Uncheck Auto-Reboot
Check F.Reset Time (I don't know what it does, but it's always checked)
Flash the tar.
Once complete and the box says "PASS" in green, unplug your phone and pull the battery (I was told it's safe, as it's in the MIUI instructions as well)
Put battery back in and start phone in recovery with VOL UP+HOME+POWER
In recovery choose to update from zip
Choose file from sdcard
Choose the JVH_KC1_BMC zip file and update
The phone will restart/install.
Once it's started up for the first time I recommend restarting in download mode and flashing the stock JVH kernal
You can also use any kernal you want.
Let me know if I can help at all. I was trying to make a completely odin flashable tar for this but failed miserably :9
I'll do my best to answer any questions however this is my first time making something to flash for you all
Note:
I'm not sure where to put this, sorry to mods/admins if it's in the wrong spot, please let me know
Hi,
I saw your thread, and I found it very interesting for people who own a Bell SGS 9000m Vibrant and wanna upgrate to Gingerbread.
So I decided to flash the Gingerbread JVH ROM just like you did, but I need to know a few things:
1. Will I be able to downgrade to my original stock froyo after this flash ?
2. Will I be able to update via Kies in case Bell release an official gingerbread update ?
3. Right now my phone is SIMUnlocked, will I lose my SIMunlockation after the flash ?
4. And is my actual configuration right to excecute this flash or should I flash something else before ?
My configuration is the following:
Baseband version
I9000UGJL2
Firmware
2.2
Kernel
2.6.32.9
[email protected] #3
Build number
FROYO.UGJL2
galaxy s vibrant bell
gt-i9000m
Thanks for your hard work, I hope to read back from you soon.
I have exact same configuration and exact same questions as poster above!!!
Still no answer... Guess we'll have to try if wanna know...

1. yes, it's possible
2. yes, but you would either need to downgrade first or do a kies hack
3. no
4. you can do it straight
Thanks zorxd.
I am going to try. So there is no need for me to select any Pit file or did the guy forget to mention it ? Also can we tick the repartition option in Odin?
Sorry if I ask usekess question I am used to flash android but new to the SGS flashing...
when you repartition you need a PIT file.
My advice is to not repartition unless you need it.
Too late... I did it got stuck into bootloop. I had an error when I tried to install the zip from the recovery (I had recovery 3e) : E : Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device) . However, I flashed the back eclair JHL and went back to the stock eclair rom. I am going to restart from there following your intructions. I now have recovery 2e ( Somehow I can't get ClockWorkMod Recovery to load directly; it always send me to recovery 2e and there I apply update.zip to go to CWM recovery)
Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if I manage to get it done.
Still get the error E:Short write of/tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device) when try to install JVH_KC1_BMC.zip from the recovery 3e ( this recovery comes right after I flash SpeedmodK15E_withLoaders.tar ...
Don't know what else to try... Help please..
I did it a slightly different way. From 2.2, I flashed a stock 3 part gingerbread rom (phone, PDA, CSC) with bootloader update using ODIN 1.82. I then flashed CF root gingerbread kernel for CWM3 and then flashed the KC1 modem from clockwork recovery for the 850 band.
Could you please show me the exact files you used so I can try to do the same ?
Aren't there at least a couple threads on how to install jvh/jvp on an i9000? Its the exact same process as those you just have to flash the kc1 modem via cwm after you are done. It sounds like you guys are experimenting too much.

Our canadian phone is not really different from all the other ones, so you don't need a special "Bell Canada" installation.
If you want JVH, you can follow this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818556
You don't have to do everything like fugumod, etc. I would flash JVH via odin and then flash CF root kernel via odin so you get CWM3.
There's also leaked 2.3.4 JVP gingerbread out, if you feel inclined:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
There's a way to enable 850 band on the different gingerbread modems, but i never bothered, I just flashed the KC1 modem for Bell which has the band (via CWM3). Search for I9000UGKC1

Okay I am really starting to freak out now...
I am stuck in bootloop, I can't get out og it. I tried flash Back the Stock Bell Firmware but it keeps boot looping. Download mode is okay. But it started doing this I had a message like sd could not be mounted in recovery 3e. Now I can't even access recovery after I flash Eclair but Download mode is still okay...
Aby ideas ?
Have you tried flashing back the stock JL2 firmware from bell? (found on samfirmware.com)
I've never encountered this error before, I wonder if it is a problem with the bootloaders, as the official froyo firmware from bell had a secondary bootloader and gingerbread has its own bootloaders as well.

I imagine you'll need the stock bell firmware as said above and also the proper PIT file to go along with it.

Also if you repartitioned it when you tried to flash the whatever it was when you tried you will also have to repartition it when going back down to froyo.
2.2 and 2.3 use different bootloaders therefore if you try to mix and match rom's without the bootloaders and repartioning you will get a ****y phone.

Thanks for your help guys. I didn't solve it yet, but i will open a new thread to prevent this one from getting to messy.

[Q] Bad Restore - PLEASE HELP

Hello, i did something wrong while trying to flash an ics custom rom on my vibrant phone, before to flash the ics rom i had an old froyo with android 2.2 with the old bootloader, i didn't notice that to flash the ics i had to first update to cm7 than update the bootloader and finally flash the ics rom. So, after flashed the ics the phone got stuck in the boot sequence and i had the bad idea to restore back the old froyo rom but i ended up to a totaly useless device, it doesn't boot anymore and stays stuck on the vibrant boot logo.
Please has anyone any idea if i can get out of this situation and flash back the original rom or at least any rom that works? I also can't reach the recovery menu anymore, i don't really know what to do! I Hope for someone can help me!
Thank You!
You can use Odin to restore it to stock, download the pit and tar file from here and flash it with Odin while the phone is in download mode: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319802
Then use these steps to root and cwm: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Thank you so much bro, it worked like a charm!!!
Cheers
You should check out my guide on how to install ics. Has all the steps and some that the video missed.
Also you need to take care when restoring as GB and ICS roms are partitioned differently therefore restoring something like the /data portion of your nandroid will cause 9 kinds or hell for you. And don't even get me going about the one full/fool proof way to brick your phone-the bootloader mismatch.

Imilka ICS repack -> GB - boot and modem .bin files failing when flashing from Odin?

Imilka ICS repack -> GB - boot and modem .bin files failing when flashing from Odin?
(also posted in Dr Ketan's stock ROMs topic)
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have a bit of a problem which I fairly desperately need your help to fix. Reading about how dangerous the ICS leak/repack was, I decided to bite the bullet and downgrade to GB before installing the CM9 nightly. I read up around it, including preparing all the tools (Odin etc), ROM (stock 2.3.6 ROM from sammobile), kernel (CF-root KJ1, latest) etc.
Booted device into download and proceeded to flash stock ROM. FactoryFS done, good. modem.bin ERRORED! bad. OK, I thought, try another ROM without modem. Only there aren't many (any?) that don't have either boot.bin or modem.bin, and they take an age to download from hotfile...
Tried flashing Chainfire's KJ1 factoryFS - flashes fine but on restart it just sits there sparking Android's belly!
I then saw Dr.Ketan's post re stock ICS and how it would flash boot.bin and modem.bin as supplied, so tried that too - same problem, it won't flash boot or modem. I've tried flashing individual bits too, but because the CODE has one of those files, it fails.
I am loath to having to manual repack the code part without boot/modem myself, as I haven't touched my Linux VM since I stopped developing the N1 battery calibration bits, and it would be learning about md5checksums etc too - given my backup Android device is dropping the cell network every minute, I really need my Note back to working perfection (as it was with IMILKA's CM9 build - dang, I wish I'd not flashed yesterday!!)
So at present I have a useless Note which I need help resuscitating - any advice, options please? I guess PM me if I'm being dumb or it's likely to get too off-topic...
I had a problem when going to back to GB to flash ParanoidAndroid. When I rebooted after flashing via PC odin. It wouldn't let me go past the configuration options.
After flashing lots of GB firmwares I finally read I had to go into recovey mode and make a factory reset and wipe caches.
After this I was able to get into GB, root, install recovery and flash ParanoidAndroid

For the record, I have muddled through and solved this issue. Steps I took:
boot into Download mode
Odin flash the 16Gb PIT file only
then Odin flash CSC file (from Dr.Ketan's ICS) only
Reboot
It restarted into ICS with Samsung bits so I knew it had updated (Imilka's ROM)
Then I reflashed Chainfire's KJ1 in Odin, then in recovery flashed CM9 and gapps, rebooted. Then flashed latest CF-root from recovery.
All working well, apart from gmail not marking messages read despite a clearing of it's data and cache!
</phew>

Bootloop even after flashing Stock in ODIN

Hello,
I had not updated the ROM on my phone in quite some time so I recently decided to update everything. I flashed an updated modem thru ODIN and then updated to some Android 5.0.1 and 5.1 roms.
I ended up having some odd reboot issues so I decided I would flash completely stock rom and go from there. I downloaded the most recent stock rom for my phone from SamMobile and flashed it thru ODIN. ODIN says passed and everything looks to have worked.
The problem is my phone will start and boot up to the point where I set up Android (choosing language etc) and then the phone reboots. This happens everytime.
Any advice or suggestions? I thought flashing stock would fix my issue!
UPDATE:
I flashed Stock thru ODIN again and it seems to be working now. I will update the post again if anything changes!
