At first glance it seems the LCD screen died, but have no fear!
Try holding power button for 9 seconds, then release it.
Then hold power button for 3 seconds to start up the tablet to see how it goes.

I want to reboot it. ant when I press volume button for like 6 seconds.
Then its jus freeze I can't do anything now......
I thin It's suppose to be software problem
But I can't back up it now ((

I have the same problem after trying to flashing with vega cream rom. any solutions how to revert?
Thanks in advance.

I've managed to get my Vega in same position after jellybean Alpha. You can tell if the device is on by looking under the black border near camera. There is a blue led that lights when the device is on. I haven't got anywhere in two days now. It could be impossible to brick Vega, but having if you can't get to bootloader, the consequence is the same. =/
EDIT: Now I actually got it to nvflash and bootloader state. I think I tried it bit differently, first I booted normally --> screen goes on once and the blue led near camera stays on. Then I push back button and then power button as long as it needed to get that blue led off --> win

It is possible that the problem here is faulty buttons. If the buttons are bad getting into flash can be impossible. Keep trying the back button thing at different speeds and press the buttons firmly and hold the power button for about 12 seconds to make sure you are switched off before doing the back button thing. Look for the camera light to guide you. If you have no back light and see the blue camera light then you are in NV flash mode and your problem lies elsewhere. Change USB port on the PC or the PC, try another cable.
Good luck

HD2 wont boot up just shows a bright white screen

Hi
Just to bring you up to speed my HD2 is a completely stock as it comes t-mobile (uk) handset.
Today after the phone froze with a black screen i pressed the little red reset button on the rear of the handset, after i did that and now every time i press the button or pull the battery and turn on all i get is a plain bright white screen.
i've done the reset where you hold the vol up and down and also forced it into boot mode by holding the vol down plugging the usb cable in and running the htc rom update.
So any ideas on how i can get the handset working as i'm in great need for it.
I'm going to post a video clip to show it better as soon as i've recored it.
Thanks Dave

If you can get into the boot loader then flash a new ROM into it... Or look for the Task29 Update Manager here in the forums so it formats the HD2 then Flash it

[Q] volume buttons missing, tablet doesn't start issue

Hello everybody,
does anybody here see a connection between missing volume buttons(physical switches on the camera module 04w2155) and the tablet doesn't start?
As backgrund info.
Tablet is doing only short vibration when trying to power on, or when connecting to charger. When connecting charger led on the back is flashing but i don't get anything on the display or other feedback except the short vibration. I suspect also some damage with the screen, but cannot confirm. Tablet has a repair of the power button.
Thank you
You might be in APX mode, which doesn't activate the display.
Press the battery-disconnect button inside the tiny hole next to sim card slot and then try to power up your tablet.
Thanks for reply/hint.
What reset did is that for around half a minute the red led was lightning continuously, not blinking. After thag blinks again.
After research about apx mode i'm more and more certain this is my situation, it's active now.
If i connect to computer, it does recognize, search for driver and then disconnects within few seconds.
Since i see this more like a software problem could i stabilise the connection to the computer and recover informations/make backup and restore rom?
Thank you!

We are making progress!
My guess - not to answer your latest question but to the original one, is that your missing volume buttons (physically missing, yes?) very much have something to do with the tablet's current condition. To get to APX mode, the tablet must be started from cold boot with power AND volume pressed at same time (physically pressed). If your missing buttons are registering as being 'pressed' all of the time, it may be difficult to create a boot situation where you can get to your android desktop.
Could you elaborate on the missing buttons?
Please someone else chime in here - I don't even have my tablet.
Thanks for reply.doesn't matter for which question. I put together any information. Issue is getting clearer.
I got the tablet in this condition and attempt repair. Power button was down so i soldered back.
Now the thing is somebody worked before in this area and i suppose the actual powerbutton is one of the volume buttons since the work done before doesnt look professional. I suppose they destroyed the powerbutton and desoldered a volume button to resolder as powerbutton. Which possibly is the case for both volume switches. Now the two vol buttons are nowhere.
The switch has 3 pins,of which the ones at the sides have continuity when the switch is unpressed.
I suppose for boot it could require that the 2 volume switches to be present, that means it could have some continuity check through the switches, and if they are not present it cannot start.
I cannot simulate the 2 buttons because for one switch the soldering pad on the board got burned.
I am going to upload pictures in 5-6 hours when i get home.
If this proves to be somehow true i would order another brand new camera module with all 3 switches, but now i'm unsure if with new board it could start, at least for flashing/recovery.
But having it vibrating and red light flashinv i see a sign it's not yet a "unrecoverable brick"
What do you think?
Thank you

Anybody any idea about this case?

I think it is definetely a screen damage, maybe a conection cord. Try to clean/replug this cord (cant remember now where it is). This short vibration indicates, that device is begining to boot. Right after vibration Lenovo logo should apear on the screen. If it doesnt - screen is down...
About power board - no connection between power and volume buttons for sure. Power button: + is central, - is other two.
stas.green brings up a good point. If you have opened up the tablet, it is very easy to disconnect the flat ribbon cable that runs the display. When I installed my 3G card the same thing happened to me. Freaked me out but it took 30 seconds to open it back up and correctly seat the cable.

stas.green you're right. the problem is with the screen. i powered the tablet and conected to the computer. i could see the memory access the files and make a backup.
i'm going to examine where is the screen problem origin and possibly to fix it. the screen cables i checked, they fit good. any other weak point known to you?
thanks for help
My next suggestion, not to fix the screen, but to get some function back - connect the tablet to a TV via the mini-HDMI port and see if you are booting to a normal desktop. Hopefully 'External Display' is already enabled. At least you would be able to test if the touch and pen functions of your screen and confirm if they still work even though your backlighting may be broken. Shining a flashlight at an angle on the screen may make the desktop visible if the backlighting is the issue.
Good luck!

Failing power button issue

I have had this phone for over a year and the power button is getting harder to activate. I also have a nook color, when I plug the nook up it powers on. Is there a way to have something similar on the mt4g? Power on through USB or charge. Thanks.

I dunno if it can with ADB. But what if you hold the volume down and power button to get into bootloader. How is you power button failing, can you get me a picture?
Could it be that your flex cable is getting worn out or just not actuating the power properly (ie. like with a microswitch, eventually the "springiness" of the switch won't properly let the microswitch activate) If you don't get what I mean, like the inside housing of this microswitch; http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f8/Microswitch.jpg
Based on this post it seems the mobo flex cable is what depressed an internal switch to turn the device/screen on and off. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591388
The last part of your post though, do you mean that you turn off the phone every night and turn it back on the next morning? Does this only happen when the phone is off and it acts normally when turning the screen on and off?
Well problem solved. I flashed the cwm touch 8.5 I think. Anyways it boots up into recovery when plugged in. I can live with that. I will miss 4xt. Thanks again guys n gals.

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant, but is this a common HTC issue? I own a Glacier and an HD7, and I've seen power button issues for both of them.
Well the issue was pressing the power button would do nothing 95% of the time and 5% would turn the device on. So, problem solved with the cwm touch recovery, except it boots in to recovery mode and is touch sensitive. That's good enough for me though. I just need to be careful when turning the device on.

i have the same issue with my phone...power button is completely broken..,
but i managed to map the search key (hardly use this button) with the power button using the button remapper found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464)
For reboot, i just connect it to any power outlet and it turns on into CWM touch recovery...
i can live with it until the next nexus..

If you feel comfortable opening up the bevel of the phone, you may want to check and see if the pieces of the power switch are still seated properly. I had a similar issue (which I wrote about here) that was entirely due to the pieces of the switch going off-center, making the button less responsive over time and eventually completely useless. The symptom was that the power button seemed to have less and less actuation to it.

My experience with it is at the bottom.

Have you tried connecting from different USB ports? I've heard people struggle with front facing USB ports due to their low power? Anyways, try the ones directly connected to your motherboard.

You shouldn't be connected to the pc while entering apx mode. Enter apx first then connect.
As for being stuck on the black screen...There are hundreds of threads regarding this.
Read the cpuid guide and the root guide in my sig, post there if u need further help

I have installed drives, tried other usb ports but it's the same.
A500manager detects the tablet and after second i hear the sound like when you disconnect the device.
The problem is that it won't stay in apx mode.

Blackscreen and frozen LED light.

I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary - just watching some YouTube videos and attempted to turn on my Bluetooth to connect my bluetooth speaker, all of a sudden the phone froze and then it went to a blackscreen and the blue LED was stuck on, now the LED has changed to white yet the condition is the same - blackscreen and doesn't respond to any button presses. Is there any way to force restart this phone via computer? It's my only phone right now and it's detrimental that I get it working as soon as possible.
Note: I have no custom firmware or ROMs, I use the default of what's with the phone.
Thanks in advance,
Tyrone.
Try every button press combination for 1-2 minutes (Only the power button, Vol-Down and power button or all at the same time). To see if you can get it to hard reset or go into fastboot.
Apart from that, there shouldn't be much else to do, apart from waiting until the battery drains out or something.
