[ROM] ICS 4.04 for u8800pro AURORA 2.0 Genokolar - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hello, I got the ROM from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/genoandroid/files/, which is called 'aurora_2.0_u8800pro.zip'. Before, I did a backup of IMEI with 5irontoolbox, just in case.
INSTALLATION
Boot into recovery (5.0.2.7 for U8800 pro )
Wwipe data / factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced and wipe dalvik cache
Mounts and storage and format system
Install zip from sd card
Choose aurora_2.0_u8800pro.zip
Now I have ICS on my U8800-51 with Entel 3G (Chile), without a IMEI Restore.
EDIT: 2012-06-27
Is the ICS 4.0.3

This was the first ics that geno release so sakura and others can port it from dzo...we are now on 4.0 and at 29 of this month huawei will release official ics m8!!!this version is old...very old!! :/

Thanks. I am confused, because this ROM is very stable and think was different to others. So, how may I delete this Post?

Which Aurora work better?

The best Aurora is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532662.
Good luck.

but in Aurora 4.0 I can't change the languaje because are shown FC.
Aurora 2.0 is smoother tan Aurora 4.0 I think

I think the system displays multiple languages, however only work correctly with English and Chinese. Beyond that, the ROM works perfectly, is stable and is running 3G (Entel Chile), thanks to 5iromtoolbox for a Imei Backup.
Obviously, there is no FM Radio. I'm using 'SetCPU for Root Users' and works perfectly with 1.4 Ghz.

It's everyday suitable rom? it's better this aurora?

Hi. I have a u8800-51 in Brazil (Claro operator). This rom work on this model? In theory the U8800-51 only has Android Froyo (although there are in Venezuela with the gingerbread).

Copy SpanishPack.apk to yor Rom

From the others ICS ROM, like 'U8800proB927CWMStockV2', you can COPY from the directory \system\app\ the file 'SpanishPack.apk' and Paste to your Aurora ROM and reflash. Now, I have spanish, but, I prefer the English. I Like the original language.

Yes, works for the U8800-51. I recommend the 4.1 version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1532662. Obviously, make a IMEI Backup first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591997. With the IMEI Backup you will use any ROM (Aurora, GB, Froyo Horse Black, etc), except the B927 o variants.:cyclops:
Good luck.

Thanks for the answer. I install the cm7-movida v2 and happy with him. I observe the development of custom android 4 on this forum and I note what the cm7 is more fast and no bugs.

[Q] MIUI rom update

hello...
Iam running miui 1.7.22. and looking to update to miui 1.8.5.
been search a litle around and are still litle unsecure on how to do this.
Do i just boot into aMAGLDR and go into boot ad sd and pick the rom from the SD card and install ?
just like i did when first installed miui 1.7.22.
Or have i forgoten some steps i need to do?
thanks for all the help ...
Yup that is ok
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
if you don't use clockworkmod it's ok. if you use cwm go into the recovery and chose install zip from sd.
And just btw you can back up your data using MIUI backup first, then restore everything when you have updated your ROM. If you're using CMR I believe you can just update the ROM without losing your data, but that depends on which MIUI ROM (I think the stock one can only be flashed using magdlr, so if you're using a SD version it must be from the forums?) you're using and it's better to check the individual threads for that particular ROM.
oh i forgot to say that.
Iam not running from sdcard. iam using [ROM] HTC HD2 Leo MIUI.us Presents MIUI 1.8.5 Fastest Version Yet Pure English [AOSP]
called runing from nand?
Likewei92: backup part isnt that importent realy. since its okay to reinstall eveything. Just helps me learn it bether
Thank for the respons to. .

This rom is based on the official firmware B540, so android's version is 2.3.5. This is a rooted version of the B512 fw with many tweaks and improvements.

root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326525
recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343276

Hi,
thank you for this work!
Anyway I have to ask you something about your custom rom.
Does your Rom have the quick settings widget in the status bar?
Did you fix the accelerometer problem? For example if you try to move on the street view (of Google Maps) with the compass mode, you understand that the accelerometer has a problem.
Can you explain what problems you solved from the stock 512 Gingerbread 2.3.5 rom from Huawei?
Thank you in advance,
regards,
kalo

the rom doesn't have the quick setting widget...but the current release is only the aplha0.
i have just tried with an app called "accelerometer test" if the accelerometer works but seems that it doesn't.
from stock B512 i have not solved any problem because, using it for a month, i have not found any kind of problem. mainly i have edited the build.prop and i have added some scripts to improve performance.

yes, you must upgrade to official 2.3.5 (B512) because basebands are different.

I know well your work, cause i own an O1 p500,,,,,but i don't use anyone cause i didn't wanted to change baseband with lgtool and i stay with mik's rom....and btw for O1 there are plenty of good roms to use.......
PS...i made a lot of changes on 3 weeks which i own u8800 pro and i made a really fast and fully functional stock rom 2.2.2,,,,i delete about 14 system apps ,edited build.prop, created init.d folder, some other modds and a little theming,,,,and i like it very much ........maybe i create a thread and a video to saw people how good stock rom can be made......
As you understand it's very difficult for me to change baseband,as i still couldn't found a way to downgrade again if i don't like the new baseband.......and i want to have my fm radio not loose it.....
Someone must cook a rom for .32 kernel(old baseband)

2.9.29 is obsolete / new 2.9.29.1 Release at MiuiPortugal
I am not that active here at XDA mostly because I am moderator/tweaker/modder at MiuiPortugal
The 2.9.29 pointed at the first post on this thread was still related to the first RC's I compiled based on Geno's Miui (just like CrazyGamer)... With some help from turkish, russian and chinese miui members, I was able to get things working "almost" properly with 2.9.29.1, as I state on the official thread...
But future releases might improve performance and stability...
Kind regards

When going from Aurora to Icepika, Icepika installs and reboots..goes to the boot logo and then goes completely black with NO movement at all.

When going from Aurora to Icepika, Icepika installs and reboots..goes to the boot logo and then goes completely black with NO movement at all.
I have to remove the battery and reboot, only to find it has removed CWM recovery so I cant get back in to the phone again.
I put official gingerbread on the mmc with dload folder and recovered, re-rooted and put CWM recovery back on and then installed Aurora.
I tried this twice with the same results, followed the instructions you posted...any ideas?
Thanks.

You can check yourself. Unzip rom file and look system folder's size, it is system partition size, i suggest to add 5 or 10 mb too for bad sector. Sorry for my English.
By the way, it doesn't work for me (v3.5.17), always restarting. I could'nt access desktop.

My sys-partition is 230. But I deleted some unnecessary things (live wallpapers, boot animation, calculator....).
Until now every version from "gtbluesky" works flawlessly for me.

I tried. I used 280 system partition. If you have class 10 sd card you can use your sd card's ext partition as internal memory with this script: initrd_patcher_v2.zip. Everything is fine. v3.5.17 didn't worked because i think it's a bug. Because every older and newer version worked for me but 3.5.17 didn't worked. Sorry for my english.
