I've had my Galaxy Note for over a month now and, so far, it has been a enjoyable (albeit with some admitted flaws) experience. The battery bug, which I have yet to solve, still doesn't really impend my usage and I still manage to last through the day with minimal usage. The brick bug is one my kernel suffers from, but I am confident on Samsung soon releasing a solution and also have no plans to reset or wipe data any time soon so I should be safe. If it worries you that much, a decent amount of reading and then simply changing kernels properly can solve the issue. The Galaxy Note is a one of a kind device and it feels my desire for both a great phone and a great tablet.
On an off-note, what are the chances of us getting Jelly Bean now that it's been slated for a mid-July release?

I think brick bug has top priority.
First we will get bug free ICS 4.0.3
Then in Q4 2012 or probably Q1 2013 Sammy would roll out ICS 4.0.4
It will take 2-3 months more to fix bugs in ICS 4.0.4
So in Q3 or Q4 of 2013 we will get (buggy, unstable) Jelly Bean.
haters gonna hate, D1ckheads are everywhere, in your town, in your work, on the roads, even here on XDA, Just dont take them on !!
as for JB, I think its possible we might get it, The hardware can easily run it, However if we dont get it official, We will deffo get it ported

When the updated fix for the brick bug comes, will it be safe to update as to update we will have to wipe data which is a danger to us with the brick bug, no?

So, uh, where is our update to Jellybean? ICS 4.0.4 is so old, my grandma uses it!

Samsung is probably the best place to get android updates so it is likely jellybean will be applied

It's very unlikely that the Note will get Jelly Bean in the near future. Since samsung is more focused on pushing out the update to the S3 and building the Note 2, I doubt we'll get it in a timely manner. Maybe towards the end of the year.
Now when this update comes their will be.more bugs so why do ppl go so crazy about updates lol now if it deffo would fix the battery issues and the hangs my phone does time to time great. Let me stress that those who are rooted and be flashing roms left right and centre seem to be having major issues lol its like stoppppp!

I'm very happy it's my note. Sure there are flaws, many in fact but overall it's a great device.
What you have now on your Notes is what you get,all of you are day-dreaming if you think even for a one single moment that there is going to be another official FW upgrade for our NOTEs.
Cause this is a freakin, FORUM. People bring ISSUES, problems, things their frustrated with to a FORUM.
Call it complaining if you like.

I have to agree with you. After using Huawei's U8800 for about a year or so, SGN is like a dream come true. The official ICS ROM is really good, haven't really had any issues at all (haven't even had an urge to test any custom ROMs since I updated my phone to the official ICS...It's just so darn GOOD). And even the stock launcher is pretty good...It's not TW5 but it's still all good.
I went to look at the s3 today in a shop, not cost I'm thinking of buying, just to see.
Yes its pretty, yes its quite smooth and snappy and I much prefer touchwizz ux, plus the display quality is a little more refined and the screen is smudge proof to a certain extent.
BUT... it still doesn't come close to the presence of the note, this screen despite its flaws is truly unbeatable for an everyday experience, and with a custom vanilla ics installed it just sends it to another level.
I love my note, I won't even consider trading it in until the note 2 or another worthwhile competitor enters the market.

Most complaints are generated by people complaining about people who complain about aspects of thier handset, so those who complain about those who are complaining, themselves become complainers. Then those who originally complained about issues with their smart phones start complaining about those who complained about them complaining in the first place. We then get a debate about if the original complaint was just a mere comment that appeared to be a complaint. Then someone will complain that the original complainer wasn't complaining just stating an opinion, then someone will complain that it wasn't an opinion but a complaint. Complainers will then complain that people who are doing all the complaining spoil the thread. Then the whole thing starts to get complicated when someone complains about whining, now this is really not on, because we now have so may complainers on the thread, we have no idea who is being accused of whining, so someone will now start whining a complaint about the person who complained about those who where whining about complainers. The whining about complainers, and complaints about whining continue for about, 30 pages or until the battery runs out in the smart phone that was complained about in all the whining.
That is why we have so many complainers and whiners.
btw watch out for the sneaky whiner who thanks a complainer.
Amen
1 People have nothing to do and 2 complaining is easy and releases tension, but causing it to for others. Smile therapy is better :-D

Will Samsung's Brick Bug solution do the job?
To all my seniors,
Being super bricked and resurrected after losing 3GB eMMC space, will the impending Samsung Brickbug fix recover that 3 GB lost space for my Note too? If it does, i am ready to wait for it, otherwise i am gonna recompense my loss by burning down one of Samsung Service Centres
Oops here goes another complaint

If that's your plan of action, I would recommend doing it now, rather than waiting. The price of oil has dropped considerably over the last few months, you could make a huge saving on gasoline and do a really good job.
Just realised I have not complained whined or whinged, but provided helpful consumer advice. You should all be grateful.

well it seems everyone is making one of these lately, so i figured i would too.
Why i considered passing
first off, as most of you, i was pretty disappointed after Samsung's release.. i heard about this barrel-less, 1080p HD AMOLED Plus display, a tall order indeed, but with Samsung's track record, and complex to beat Apple in every area, totally believable! the Galaxy Nexus released half a year ago attained 720p, so the obvious next step was 1080p, especially after Samsung made that 2048x1536 iPad3 screen for Apple.
Samsung had announced their A15 processor, and everyone started going quadcore, so while i wasnt making any bets on it, i was hopeful for a quadcore A15, instead we got the quadcore A9.
onto the design, i had no gripes with the look of it, short of it didnt look like the rumored barrel-less look. im pleased with white, but shocked theres no black
Not waterproof =[, i know it was a stretch, but early rumors suggested we may see a waterproof Galaxy phone here. sadly not the case
Lastly, i was hopeful for the Xenon flash
basically, we didnt get this

Why i Reconsidered
Screen
while its very disappointing, it IS an upgrade from the SGSII, just because of sheer pixel density. 720 pentile > 480 RGB
Sound
the SGSIII will be the sound phone of the year! with an amazing Soundchip with DAC, and one of the first to use APT-X LOSSLESS Bluetooth Audio Streaming! my car's new stereo will be very happy!
Better FASTER Camera
while the MP hasnt changed, the sensor of the camera has, and now with zero shutter lag, finally! the picture i see when i snap a shot will be the picture i get, not whatever happens 1 second after.. cant tell you how many great shots ive missed because of this
LED Notification!
finally we get to have an LED notification. with my SGSII ive had to use BLN, and if you know anything about BLN, youll know it rapes your battery. no more choosing between notification or battery life.
Processor
while ive never felt a lag with my SGSII processor, the one area that can always be improved in browser speed. this is the biggest thing quadcore will affect. and a faster browser means a happier me. it will also increase battery life, since ill be spending less time waiting for pages to load.
Support
while its debatable other phones (which will not be named lol) may pose a serious threat, nobody has support like a Galaxy phone. Devs are all over Galaxy phones, and with people like supercurio spreading his voodoo goodness, and Team Hacksung adding their custom AOSP roms, we have lots to look forward to.
New Software Features
while these will probably be ported to the SGSII, its safe to assume theyll work a lot smoother on the phone theyre intended for.
Battery Life
im not sure if well actually see improved battery life, as my SGSII has the 2000MAh extended battery, but im hopeful new hardware will be less energy demanding.
LED Light
yes i said LED Light, i can tell you my SGSII has the brightest light ive seen on any mobile, and i currently own the HTC One X, and the LED is very weak. i use my phone as a flashlight all the time, and my SGSII reads just over 90 lumens using my LUX Meter. i expect the SGSIII will have the same LED, i doubt it will have weaker, and i am hopeful it will have better. (if anyone knows let me know)
NFC
i dont know if ill ever have a chance to use this in the US, but i LOVE the idea of using my phone as a creditcard. like something out of an anime! (any Eden of the East fans out there?)
Something New
im very happy with my phone, but its nice to treat myself to something new every once in a while. god knows we all could use it. it seems the SGSIII will be an improvement in every area of the SGSII
If that picture was a real SGS III....
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
Minor correction to the first post - the S3 isn't the first to use Apt-X. The Razr and the One X both have it (as does the iPad3 and several of Apple's computers).
Screen
I don't really think a jump from 720 to 1080 is really going to be that noticable on a smallish screen like what the SGS III will have. I don't tend to look at my device under a magnifying glass. Though on a tablet it would definitely make it sharper.
Camera
Xenon flash would be nice, but it was a bit much to hope for. It will be a step up from my Evo 3D, HTC screwed up the camera on that device. Mp doesn't make a difference if it is a good chip.
Processor
I have my Evo 3D on a custom ROM overclocked and it is running really smoothly. Two extra cores is nice, but the right processor will do right if it is a dual core. I won't be too disappointed if we don't end up with the Exynos here in the states as long as the chip is comparable.
Support
I'm looking forward to an SGS and getting good support from devs. My Evo 3D has been a hassle...
Software
Looking forward to the interesting opportunities with the voice control. I don't care too much for Touchwiz, but there are other launchers that can be used (plus custom ROMs.)
Battery
Newer hardware does tend to be less stressful on the battery even if it is more powerful. I manage my radios well so I'm not too worried, though I am a bit concerned about how the voice control will work with that. I'm not sure if I like the idea of my phone waiting to hear me say Hi Galaxy! because that seems like it might drain the battery.
All in all I'm ready to go up to the Sprint store and tell them to take my money. I was kind of hoping to see a ceramic body, though I am ok with the design they came up with. Looking forward to the AMOLED screen and the decent combination of hardware.
..really hoping our GS3 forums don't get this cluttered with redundant threads when we actually get the phone.
Seriously.. "well everyone else is making these so I will too"..?
With that statement alone it shows you didn't read the rules of XDA, and why your supposed to post in existing threads about the same topic, and how posting multiple threads of the same BS just clutters and makes it harder to find information. Unfortunately there are at least a half dozen threads with the same topic, so you don't have much in the way for excuses or why you made this thread or that this one may be different than the other ones.
*edit* it looks likes the mods are directing all other chat to your other thread. Not sure what makes this one any different but whatever. didnt actually read your post but skimmed it enough to get the jist..
can i ask, why are you even in the SGS3 section if youre not here to gossip? the phone isnt even out yet, so clearly youre not here to get support. everyone whos here is here because they want to share their personal opinions, chitchat, gossip, convince themself to get the phone, or try and convince themself not to. nobody is here for development, troubleshoot, or get support of any kind, so if seeing other humans interact is offsetting you like it is, i suggest you come back after May, when the phone is actually released. till then well continue to talk about the pentile display, if the camera is any good, is the sgs3 better than the htc one, and whatever the h3ll else we feel like. so you sir can have a nice day, and let us have ours.
My reason is because I will get more re-sale value of my SGS2 now than in 6 months time (Nexus) or 12 months time (SGS4).

Um, his concern isn't with chat/gossip/whatever over the phone, he's annoyed with all the individual topics bring created starting out with "why I chose/ordered the sgs3" or "why I hate the sgs3." It's called forum etiquette 101.
The point is... when there are already nearly IDENTICAL topics, post there instead of starting a brand new one just to stay a new topic. Helps to keep the General section somewhat manageable enough to navigate.

We dont need everyone writing one of these, can just go in the general thread.

Dear Friends,
My suggestion is that Samsung Note is not worth buying,
Reasons being
1. EMMC Bug can is not fixed and still they (Samsung) has not even accepted fully that they have this error. they have not addressed that they will be providing the solution or not. So rooting and customization will be hard for general users.
2. Forget about rooting, Still with the stock rom itself Phone reboots may times without any reasons.
3. Software hangs even with Stock rom and only way is to reboot it manually.
4. Very poor Wifi network, frequently turn off and turn on WIFI without any reason.
5. Samsung do not hear the voice of customer. very bad services.
6. especially in Indian type of consumer market buying Samsung Note at the present rate is not worth.
7. No widget for music player, 1X4 or 1X5 Dual Clock.
8. Touch Pen Problems not addressed
9. For the money its not worth with Bug in EMMC.
Never Never Never Buy Samsung Products. untill they are hit with sales they do not hear the customer Voice. One fine day they will also be like Nokia.

2 Things that made my Note invincible:
ROM: Kingdroid v3.0
Kernel: Speedmod K3-3
Nuff said.
I'm using my Note for more than half a year, I tried many GB roms stock and custom, all ICS chinease leaks, and now last ICS custom. I never got any of your problems, I did wipe on ALL types of kernels and firmwares for Note. Never got any bricks.
You've just got factory marriage Note. Go to service center and change it for normal. Or maybe you just unskilled noob and deceiving here.
You right only with 5 point. But it's not only with Samsung. Almost all manufactors are the same, they really love money.

my note is still yet to arrive but from what i've heard there are also issues with echoing (person you are talking to hears their own voice) as well as severe black crush/clipping issues with video playback.
I have zero issues with my note (running RocketROM v7). As a matter a fact my buddy just received his GsIII (at&t) today and after comparing the two very closely the SIII is not much better. He even said that if he could have bought a n7000 through at&t and set it up like mine he would have much rather had the Note. Mine Note is just as fast and smooth as his SIII in every way with better functionality due to the custom rom provided by eybee1970! This is just my experience....

Dear friends/ Samsung lovers
No doubt there are many phones out with the better features with Bug free. paying few more $$ or euros. So my suggestion is that better go with SGN or HTC one X rather than going to SGN. As Android is an open source, and customization is what Google has given more Importance for which it is at top place compared to the Iphone.
Having bug free phones is what we need to select rather than falling in pit to the buggy phone.
finally its all up to you to take the decision. I hope all will take the better decision. If you think rooting itself an sin or always working on the defective phone then their is no meaning in paying so much to this Phone at least.
Goodbye SamsungNotes.
Never once has my Note hanged in stock rom or custom roms, Its just a amazing feeling to have a note in your hand

Pretty sure threads like these are unecessary.
The first thing before I bought the Note was, I borrowed the Note from a friend and put it in my shirt's pocket. The Note cooly sat there. That is it. I bought it.I cant carry a tablet, where ever I go. It is the size of the Note that keeps the members of the Forum together. You can call the Note- a phone, or a tablet or computer or even a Note. It could become a perfect computer, could it accomodate 128Gb sd card. Nothing beats a Note.
Had a note for last 2 months, update to official ICS Rom and i had no problem whatsoever,, except the USB wake lock which is solved easily by rebooting the phone after connecting charger or usb. Working perfectly and i love it.:good:
Nokia has great customer service. They just made some very bad decisions, manufactured hundred phone models that were basically identical and were left behind on smartphone field which basically landed a decisive hit on them. And now with Windows Phone they might just die... don't get me wrong, i love Windows Phone, but sales are not that good, and even though Lumia was the fastest selling Nokia device, they are still in deep crisis. Anyway, wish the best for Nokia, hope they'll recover.
As for the list you provided...ok, with the eMMC bug i agree, but i shouldn't buy Samsung device because there is no music widget ( with literally thousands of free apps on the market ) ? You serious ?
And i don't really care about their customer service... no customer service really cares - good service pretends that they do, but they never did and never will, wake up...
0 issues with my Note, The brickbug is a put off, but theres a fix for it.
you find me an issue that doesnt have a fix and il agree with you !!
you cant open a thread like this and disrespect the Note infront of 1000's of Note users, If you dont like it, thats fine, get something else.
But slating it like you did is really going to put people off wanting to get this phone, The phone is awesome, Development kicks ass.
You probably dont deserve the Note anyway, Theres a million solutions to your problems, surely if you did a bit of research you'd find one.
<3 haters.
I had issues with my Note when I updated with the OTA ICS update. Kept crashing and such, even from a clean Gingerbread. So I reverted back to Gingerbread for the minute until the ICS release matures a little. You will get this with virtually every major new release of the phone FW.
It does not detract from the fact this is a superb phone and I won't change it for anything at the minute.
i suppose every1 has their own likings
so mabbe u meant note isnt worth buying for yourself
bt i think 10 million other ppl dont share th same opinion :cyclops:
its ur choice good luck with tht

I'm pretty happy with my galaxy note, there were no problems when I was UN rooted with GB. Tried several GB roms, kernels etc after rooting with no problems. Shifted to ICS, with LP1 repack, emmc bug news broke out. Shifted safely to aosp roms without problems. Now using touch wiz based roms and very happy with it.
Excellent battery life.
Non existent lag.
Awesome roms available.
Good developer support.
Basically it's a fine device, learn to do stuff with it after reading on xda. Enjoy your purchase.

Android 4.2 may be a bit buggy at the moment for Nexus devices, but it doesn’t dampen our hopes that our smartphones will be able to rock the new Android OS in the future. After all, everyone loves keeping up to date if possible, and since the updates are free, we certainly want it to keep coming.
ASUS is an Android device manufacturer that focuses more on the tablet side of the business. While they do offer a smartphone on their list in the form of the Padfone, it is still marketed as part phone, part tablet. The company is definitely so good at making them that Google made them their partner in making the Nexus 7.
If there is a company that must absolutely make sure 4.2 arrives on their devices, it would be ASUS. Why is that? Android Jelly Bean 4.2 brings a very special tablet specific feature that will make these ‘PC and Laptop replacements’ even better in what they do. What am I talking about? I am talking about the Multi-user support introduced in the latest version of Android.
After all, one very important feature of shared PC is the ability to set multiple user profiles on the device to allow each user to personalize their experience with the device. This is obviously a factor that is useful for a shared tablet, which has all the potential use cases of a multimedia PC.
The ASUS Transformer tablets will also greatly benefit from the new tablet interface which improves upon a tablet’s notification and navigation capabilities. Google had a good run with the Honeycomb style interface, but it was deemed that people liked the top down notification bar system better.
The new Miracast integration also makes the Transformer tablets an even better tool in making presentation and sharing them to your peers or coworkers and even in school. This, along with several UI element improvements make the 4.2 update something to really look forward to.
It seems that ASUS doesn’t want to make us wait too long. According to an ASUS customer representative, the company is already working on the 4.2 update for their transformer series. Hopefully, the update won’t take too long, but they are welcome to take a reasonable amount of time to fix the various bugs that Nexus devices seem to have with the update at launch. After all, we don’t want our neo-PCs crashing and rebooting during a very important presentation or while in the middle of making a document.

FINALLY an official post by Asus.. And we finally know the news! I can't wait for it. What about you?
Yea, I'm sure Asus will release the update to every single Transformer except the TF101...

Well, as they said "the ASUS Transformer Series".. TF101 is in the TF series too. And this time they're talking about the Jelly Bean 4.2, not 4.1 so I think they will release it for the TF101 too.

Yeah, but as no one found it, I posted it on here.
I woudn't get my hopes up. It's not a post from Asus nor is it official, the best you get is "According to an ASUS customer representative" and we all know what that means... Asus themselves are officially still quiet on the subject, which suggests they simply want to ignore the issue Sucks because this tablet still outperforms a lot of newer ones.
I don't think either that Asus will update the Transformer to 4.2, from what we've seen from them even the transformer prime should remain in 4.1. Either way it would be buggy as hell, the previous updates of the transformer were far from optimised (and that's an euphemism).

So do you think jb for the transformer prime is better or worse than cm10 for ours?

Asus could give me Android 7.0 and I wouldn't give a Damn unless it makes my device usable again. They screwed up a long time ago and never cleaned up their mess for many of us.

If you search back, you will see this is an old post that ASUS has clarified to say every tf series BUT the 101. Before you post something labeled official, check it out. I want JB as much as most other people , but ASUS is not going to invest another dime on the TF 101. We have been abandonded by ASUS. I for one have abandonded them as a result.
Asus really needs to have better control over their PR people. Yes this addresses transformer series but in reality its only tegra 3 devices. Asus would not go through the trouble of porting it to tegra 2 asus transformer series.
Xoom is already on Jellybean (tegra 2 device).
This is what you get when you buy android without official google involvement...a real mess
Guys you need to realise something about Android, or, shall I say, any Android device you ever buy.
ALWAYS be happy with the Software your device comes with. Do not think "oh, it'll be better with an update". Be sure that the software your device arrives with will make you happy for the next 2 years. And if an update does come, then great, but don't be dissapointed if it doesn't.
if we see this update it won't be for atleast a year

Many of us were happy, but Asus broke many of our devices with one of their updates and we've had expensive paper weights ever since.
The dropped the ball and will never see my business again.

Man, there's a lot of butt hurt in this thread. 4.2.1 is a quick flash away. The asus roms aren't that stable that I've missed being shackled to them. Jellybean and an overclocked kernel has tripled the performance of my tablet over the honeycomb software it originally came with.
ASUS, like Google, have pretty spotty customer service but they make some great stuff. I love my tablet and I'll be buying ASUS for a long time to come.

:good: I understand there is people unhappy with Asus and their TF, but I couldn't be happier with it, using it for several hours a day since I bought it. And the cooked ROMs out there really work great, for me at last :fingers-crossed:
Thread Closed
First off, there is NO official word from Asus getting JB.
Secondly, as most of us know, there will always be rumors abound posted on many obscure blogs. Get used to it.
Finally, threads like this only fuel the fire for people who are dissatisfied with their device. Next will be full scale flaming ways, as I see it's already starting.
So in the essence to avoid such conflict, Thread Closed before it starts.

I think Elephone is going very fast with ROMs for the P9000. For the moment there is no 100% stable and working ROM: not even the stock official one.
So yes, thanks for the effort with porting Nougat, but I hope it is not going to be part of the "almost ready" list.
No offense intended in this post.

Yep.
I bought this phone because it is powerful and very low price. I was of course aware of the poor ROM support, but I thought at the moment that it was only a matter of time: Elephone said that they were going to release the kernel, and there was that first preliminary port of CM13.
Now not a single ROM works. I am very interested in CM13, but the development is stopped for a time already. I would like to help (I have wide experience in developing, although never with android), but I can't even post in CM13 thread because my account is too young yet. Aaargh.
Well, I guess best strategy for the moment is simply to wait.
and here i was about to start looking into porting the jiayu s3 7.0 build, think ill just wait for the official version
also im not sure what issues people are facing that are that bad with the current CM13 build. ill admit there are a few bugs on mine, HDR photos crash the app, GPS is horribly inaccurate and all over the place despite all attempts to fix it (almost certainly down to the hardware at this point) and the proximity sensor can be a bit dodgy often leading to you pressing buttons with your face while in call, but this may be worse than it really is due to the rather cracked and battered screen protector thats on it. other than that its been a perfectly functional daily driver for me.

I think the problem is also we, the end user. I'm pretty sure a normal person would never think about buying this phone, most people tend to buy the phones they know by name: Samsung, HTC, LG...Tell someone you know you have an Elephone, they don't know what you mean.
People in this sub forum usually know why they bought the P900 and what they had to expect. Look at the phones I had: I knew this phone couldn't be complete software wise and I bought it in hope that CM13 makes it complete and even if it would work I knew I wouldn't get 100% satisfied. Honestly, I'm surprised how good Deepflex made my experience with his CM13 port but for now in this state of development of all roms (and even stock) it's the confirmation I wanted from the beginning: this phone is cheap for a reason and it will never be as good as 400$+ phones, no matter how many roms the devs will release here and even IF Nougat drops you won't be getting this "full experience" you wanted.

With all due respect, I think it is very unfair to blame the consumer for the failures of this device. It's advertised on Amazon as being "smooth and stable" and that just isn't true.
Elephone have decided to make the priority sales numbers rather than happy customers and it's likely going to result in the failure of the company as their brand develops a bad name.
While the adoption of this device seems to be successful, the failing user experience is what will prevent any possibility of loyal customers. Development malpractices such as releasing a "stable" CM 13 ROM which doesn't detect a large number of working SIM cards is straight up deceitful to customers. I would go as far as to say false advertising is taking place.

The 10 post rule no longer applies I don't think? You should be able to post in the development forum. What error message do you get when trying to post?
I do not have an Elephone (yet?) only experience with other China phone. So bear with me if I talk nonsense.
I thought my Zenfone fo example is not really worse than Samsung and Co. It's just that Samsung is much bigger and developer support much better. So it's actually not Samsung delivering a solution for a problem.
Another issue is the "update" pattern by Google. How can a firmware mature if Google publishes new versions often?
will we get android 7.1?
I disagree with everyone here. The hardware in the P9000 is easily comparable to its Samsung counterpart. At a quarter of the price tag. The trade off? Bad software (easily overcome thanks to Jonny, deepflex, skeleton1911, and others), and bad customer service. Again. Easily overcome. As far as android N, I will wait until cm14 and enjoy beta testing with the 2nd elephone I buy with all the money I saved by not buying a Samsung and risking it exploding in my pocket.
I'm a slightly more normal user - I don't mod phones anymore, and am content to just use them, too much else to do.
But I have to disagree with a lot of the negativity here: My P9000 is a great phone - very rarely crashes, works well and reliably, and has received many ROM updates. The camera is good enough, the GPS works well enough, better in HERE than Google maps, battery could be better, but I get a day out of it, so that's about average. My previous phone was a P8(?), which was rubbish, prior to that I had a Nokia N8, which was great, but I kept killing the camera module and the earpiece through shock and dust damage. I'm hard on on phones, they get dropped and exposed to dust and moisture. The P9000 has taken it all and not even stuttered.
And now it's getting nougat? Well done elephone, better support than a LOT of manufacturers. Do they still make the P9000? If they could sort out Androidpay then I'd consider the phone faultless.
w
I have to agree with Wildefalcon.
I am also a "normal" user. I have previously had Star and Zopo phones which were not great and never received any updates.
We must have had 3 or 4 updates so far, with Nougat to come.
After my experience with my previous phones, this is beyond my expectations!
I have found the GPS and camera to be okay and yes, I would like to have Android Pay too.
The one disappointment I have had was with the faulty sim tray which caused the sim cards to log out. Neither the seller nor Elephone were prepared to replace it free of charge and I ended up paying US$10 for a replacement.
Overall, I think for the price, including the additional $10, this is an excellent phone.
I appreciate others may have had problems and perhaps I have just been lucky.
I did order my Op5 4 days ago in germany, when the availableness was OnStock.
It should have been gone into delivery on 03.07 and arrive on 06.07. But it went into delivery on 01.07 already and will arrive at 03.07.
But thats not the point, just a bit gloating
The Poing is, that the availableness changed to delivery within 4 day on 01.07.
A day later it was within 11 days and now it is within 4 weeks.
Im curious, did they stop the production and delivery to fix the jelly screen or are the suddenly sold out within only a few days ?
Hope they stopped production to fix this.
Otherwise u can have mine, UPS picks it up tomorrow.

I would guess it is very popular. It is a lot of phone for the money and not many people will have heard of the jelly effect
Alan
It's just for the 8GB RAM/128GB Storage version, no? At the HU store it says for the 6/64: "Ships immediately", for th 8/128: "Ships within 4 weeks"
Maybe they are out of stock for the black version...
Let's not speculate. It could be anything.
It could be that they have ordered more thorough QA but it could also simply be that they are diverting stock to regions where demand is higher and returns are lower.
I think the warehouses in Europe are now empty. (first batch?) In addition, the smaller model is in stock and immediately available. I order my on 01.07 and it will be delivered from GB in 2 weeks.
They are just out of stock for 8/128gb. They arent fixing any "jelly" effect as its completely normal effect and is visible with mamy other phones like Samsung Galaxy S8+, Nexus 6P and many others. Less than 1% of OP5 owners even see that effect.

I doubt very few people see it as there are multiple threads on this issue here, elsewhere like reddit, videos on youtube, as well as major stories on websites about it. I think it is a very widespread complaint. These are just a few websites. Imagine how many people it bothers, but they don't comment at places like xda about it. Now how much it bothers you is your own personal feeling. Personally it causes my eyes to hurt and gives me headaches and apparently it bothers many others as well as noticed by all the threads about the issue.

It's more of a clickbait, a scandal if you will that sells. Mass hysteria yadda yadda.
Personally I've yet to see this jelly effect on my OP5. I feel for them who suffer from this but I doubt it's that high number of people that actually suffer from this.
But yeah, moot point to argue I guess.
