ppc and wifi-internet sharing question on pc.

i have a huge problem ..well here's the thing,i have pc without wifi but there i have a ppc(xperia x1) which has a wifi..so i want to use my ppc to scan wifi networks on my pc(connection : ppc with wifi on>usb>pc)..this is needed because i want to crack down that locked networks,i cant do that on x1 because i havent found any good wifi pen-testing tools.
i have tryed this showthread.php?t=341398 but its so hard to understand ..
pls help me,post links or something .
(sorry if it is in worng section..)

That depends on ISC compatibility. Many devices can't share from 3g data to wifi properly.

i dont have wifi on pc -.-
what i want to do is basiclly have wifi on the pc using the pda's built in antenna... so i was wondering if it is possible to make the pda some sort of adapter for the pc to use via usb/bluetooth?(i want to search for some wifi networks through that connection,i will try to crack wep key )

Ok, i was searching for the same, but not to crack wep key ...anyway i found this. ICS Control, it has a lot of settings and looks like its made for experts but it will work for you.
I can not test it at the moment but what i get from that post, it does the job!

But it should also work with more "interesting" combinations like:

well i have managed to do somthing ,now my pc sees the phone as LAN network ...but still i dont know how to search for other wifi netowrks..

Anyone having trouble with WPA2 Enterprise networks?

I am on the shubcraft android on my HD2.
When I try to connect to my university WiFi over WPA2 enterprise (details below) it just does not connect sometimes. I will have to turn off the wifi ad forget the network and set it up all over again to make it work. Sometimes even it does not work.
Here are my network settings:
WPA2
MSCHAPv2
Using CA certificate and identity and password
any one else having the same problem?

we got enterprise WPA2 last week on friday.. so no real time to test...
but on first try it worked flawlessly !!!
WinMo is another story... there i got many problems... got password asked 2-4 times befor it connects.....
but i also have to say we didn't use certificates to authenticate!!
but sofar i can say... no problems... if i got some problems next week i will report back!

WiFi Fixer
Tried to use it together with CyanogenMod Thyphoon on a wpa2-enterprise PEAPv0/EAP-MSCHAPv2 but no cigar. WiFi fixer switches WiFi on and off and tries to do it's magic, but up untill now it will not budge.

Wifi Possibly broken

last night i rooted my phone using the exploid x10 root apk, at first it worked fine and so i left is plugged in over night to transfer all my music onto my new sd card
but this morning it seems the wifi has broken
it connects to the network but will not send or receive data, so the browser says no connection, so does the market etc
i have reflashed its software 3 times even downgraded back to the R1, still no luck, its not even rooted and its broken
any1 had the same issue? i have searched the forum but the ppl with the sam issue have not been helped. please i dont want to spend $$ to get it fixed i have no job

No problem with the wifi so far.This is strange.
Do you have warranty?
Sound stupid but did you try to reset your router?
If nothing is working you should go to the service.

yea i messed around with wifi router, nothing, i can browse the net on 3g wich is odd, but 3g is expensive so that cnt be the solution. bluetooth and 3g work obv but the wifi cannot connect itl connect to the wirelss just NO datac exchange?

There is someone with the same kind of problem but on an EVO 4g, but i really do not understand what they reply's mean. Maybe you do?

well it cant be a complete wifi failure kuz i used the dev menu and it says wlam enabled and scanning just no connection

i managed to fix it, it wasnt my device as such it was my router, too so i fiddled around with both mainly giving my x10 a static ip and bam it worked, cheers!!

I too have a wifi problem, but it is quiet a different one and i have no idea how to solve it.
when I connect to wifi at home my router reboots, but there is no such problem when i connect to my office.
I tried reseting the router at home and still no use, once it got connected and when i started a download from the market the router again rebooted.
How can i solve this????

Tried diffrent encryptions? like WPA2 or WEP?
Maybe switch from G to N standard (or vise versa, if availible?)

Somebody told him to try to switch the router from b/g to n. That was the point of my post.
And your router obviously operates all 3 standards at once

GALAXY5 wifi WPA/WPA2 PSK problem

My gt-i5503, firmware 2.1... when connecting to wifi(WPA/WPA2 PSK) networks, just says "obtaining ip&.........disabled." but it also has no problem connecting to another WPA PSk network in my office.same thing is happening with my friends phone gt-i5503 tried at 2-3( WPA/WPA2 PSK) networks,also flashed my phone.....plz help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you need a wlantest.apk of FW you are using

Have you ever used this network with another device before? And worked it? This may be that problem.. WiFi may be protected by MAC filter. Lets say if it IS protected with this filter, you have to configure your WiFi router and add MAC adress of your phone into it. If it isn't, try another ROM or try to do something with your router.

this is a problem with the way your router gives ip to device
go in your router settings and reset all
then imput a new pass key
then it will work
i had problem with my ps3 haveing the same ip as my phone so when boath where online my phone no work online
a simple router reset to default and a new pass key fixed all problems

hey its my college wifi i can't edit it... is their some other way??????

If it is with what the craigboro guy said, you could use a laptop or another android device to scan the network (check the market, net scan or something) to scan the IP addresses on the network and then in advanced settings give your phone an IP that isn't being used, not ideal but hey, you're asking in the G3 section, not the g5 section, so you are bound to get general answers

Wifi problem

Hi there!
Im on Froyobread v023b by dx. The thing is that the wifi connection (to wireless routers) isnt working quite well. It works okay at my home, but when i want to connect on a caffe wifi area, or at my school, i cant.
At my school, under the name of the connection it says "protected with WPA/WPA2 PSK" I dont know if it changes anything, but well.
Its always the same, i connect to the router, put the password, wait, and it keeps saying disconnected, or out of range even when i am on the range of the router.
Any help?

I'm having the same problem with gingerDX. I use WEP security in my house and it works ok. But can't connect to any other wifi protected with WPA/WPA2 PSK =/

It's a problem with configuration and compatibility. Different routers/ap's use different configurations, and configurations can have different settings.
I can only connect to my router with modded roms if i disable N draft on it or it gets on a "connecting loop". Does it mean the phone cannot connect with N routers? No.. I have no probs with my girlfriend router and it has N enabled.
You seem to have problems using WPA.. I use it also use WPA and have no probs.
The modded wifi libs must have an incompatibility with some settings.
Some routers allow you to tweak them alot, maybe changing some values can do the trick, or even changing the WPA encryption type..

DX already tried different libs but they all work incorrectly in some cases

My university uses 802.1x EAP with mschapv2 authentication. I don't have a problem if I go back to the stock eclair rom on my x8, but with froyobread and ginger dx, i get occasional connections, followed by drops, and then the scanning-connecting-disconnecting problem. Usually, I have to forget and re-enter the network details to connect. With Ginger DX v12, I can't connect at all.

i updated to DX v12 and connected today to my univ. wifi with no problem. i wasn't able to connect with the earlier version.

I updated today to gdx v012 and it connected in "some" places with WPA/WPA2 PSK, not all of them (my school for example).
It just keeps saying disconnected, searching, connecting to, disconnected, and so on.

Are there any custom roms for the x8 that work well in general and also don't have wifi problems?

I think "protected with WPA/WPA2 PSK"is the problem, my phone can't connect to this kind of net work, WEP and OPEND is Ok.

i can conect to any router with any security but... in gingerbread it auto disconect after 2min
