After being shafted by one stop phone shop, i've been searching for the best deal on a UK based XDA II.
I've just found e2save.com who are doing the XDAII with 3 months insurance on o2 200 for £119. Thats the same deal as one stop were originally offering. Other best i can find is £139.
Anyone dealt with e2save.com? They offer 7 day return and price matching as well.
They quote the o2 200 tariff at £30.99, most other places quote £30. Is this because they have bolted on itemised billing?
I think o2's rule now is that contract has to be kept for 6 months isn't it, then it can be downgraded to a cheaper one.
The double talk and text they are offering at the mo runs out at the end of april. I presume that if i ordered a phone before then, but it didn't get delivered and connected until after, would i still get the offer?
Also is it 3 months doubled for the months after connection?
I will get an XDA II one day, if the offer is right!
cheers
The e2save deal sounds (as you say) comparable to the one that I got from OneStopPhoneshop ...
Do a search on eBay for seller "uncle-jamal" and he is selling XDA II's for £139 on O2 400, with other deals available - but not as good as e2save.
The only other seller I found (via this board) was Uplands, but they were not as good (price-wise) either.
One piece of advice - wherever you go, it may be worth making a quick phone call before placing the order to see if they actually have any stock - I gather that O2 cannot get enough of these models at the moment, and as a result I had to wait 3 weeks for mine from OSPS - it was worth it though.

When i spoke to mobiles2yourdoor, they said they order them in and there would definately be no problem getting one within 4 days!. I suppose once they've got your money, if there's a delay that's too bad.
I'll phone e2save and see whats what, but i'm sure most places like onestop will say they have them even if they don't just to get the customer.
phoned up e2save today and they said that there was a delivery of the xda II today (thats why the prices have gone up on their site!!)
Well i ordered the o2 100 traiff at £139 plus P+P. They charge £25.99 a month and you get free itemised billing. I pointed out its not free as your paying for it and you can't elect not to have the billing (which other shops allow you to do!)
3 months free insurance as well.
So it should be delivered wednesday, hopefully!
Hi,
Just ordered my from e2save via the phone mine is coming tomorrow, did you notice that the insurance was not being supplied via O2
" 3 months FREE insurance with Allianz Cornhill " with a £50 access and you have to cancel the insurance after the 3 months or the will keep on taking the £7.99 it out your bank
steve
What time did you order yours? I phoned at about 5.30pm, and they said i wouldn't get it until wednesday
yeah the insurance is pretty standard. Its free for 3 months, then you just ahve to cancel direct debit if you don't want it any more. I will probably drop it as its no better than my home insurance.
Shame its not like the old ornage insurance. Free, new phone in 24 hours wherever you are, and no excess, oh happy days
It annoyed me that they changed their offers just because they got stock in!
Hi ordered mine around 3 o'clock (uk) the girl on the phone said they had only just come in, she also said that there was more in stock,
My son who ordered one from Carphone Wharehouse was told that they had no stock on sunday but they shipped it on monday so perhaps a lot of place got some form of stock,
When i spoke to the O2 shop in Derby the guy said that they had a back order list of 10.
steve
Well came today as expected, so i'm happy with their service. Seemed to be the best deal around at the moment. needless to say in a week or so there will be a better one!
I got jerked around by onestopphoneshop too!!!
They accepted my first order on 23/4/2004, asked for utility bills and then just dumped the order without telling me anything, by phone, email, or whatever. I only discovered it when I phoned up to check the order on the 1/5/2004, no reason given. I re-placed the order immediately, but, ahh sorry sir they're now UK£20 dearer AND you have to have a 6 months 02 200 contract not 4 months as it used to be. B*STARDS!
Even then they tried to cancel the order twice as the first utility bill I sent them was a month out of date, and then they lost the second one. It was only frequent and persistent phone calls that got me it at all.
DON'T BUY IT FROM THEM! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Oh, and the free car kit they send you with it? The XDA II is too wide to fit it.
best deals
Guys i went for mobileshop.com
I got my XDA II the next day! with O2 250 + 50 bolt-on for 37 a month
Their service is excelllent and I am a business user
It's rooted with CM 4.2.8
Includes an 8G microSDHC class-6 card
And recently switched to using RA-dream-v1.5.2 for recovery.
No case/holster.
Does have a screen protector.
It has the tiniest 1/8 inch long hairline scratch on the screen itself. It does not distort any viewing. Otherwise, has no other scratches on it.
What do you think I can sell it for?
I'm planning on getting the Nexus One when released.
My wife doesn't want my G1 - so I may sell it. Am just curious.
they usually go for between 100 and 220(max, usually 200) but i would check craigslist and ebay if i were you...
I was hoping for $100, as it's a year old.
Im glad to hear $200 is possible.
Thanks oshizzle!
160 is cheap for a decent one. If it had a cracked screen I could see 100 being a possibility, but 150 at least if that's the only scratch.
It's insane what the freaking G1 will sell for on ebay.
If you choose to sell it do yourself a favor first, get it unlocked.
Unlocked phones seem to add $75 to the going rate.
If its clean, rooted with a current mod, and unlocked....$140-$175
I fail to understand why a phone that, I can get for $129.99 with tmobile, will sell for $129 on ebay ... broken.
I watched an auction for one that had OBVIOUSLY been run over by a car.
The guy even said, all the plastic parts are cracked or broken. The screen is broken, it does not work, the thing is falling apart. It's junk!
The freaking thing sold for $92.
Personally I think the Chinese are buying them all up and refabing them into operational units or selling them for parts. I mean I can buy every part I need to make a G1 except the mother board and the daughter board off of ebay. (and pay about $129)
Thought about going and extending my contract so I could get a new G1 and then selling my old one one ebay. I figure I'd break even at least.
wow, G1's are being sold for more money than I bought it for. When I purchased my G1 at release w/ a tmobile contract, i paid 125 dollars for my g1, i nabbed it a day early from release . but still, are you telling me that g1's are going for that much out there?

That's what I'm sayin' ... WOWZA!!!
If that's the going rate, I may just buy some functional GeeWons and root them and unlock them and flash them with the latest CM and throw on a $0.99 screen protector and get DOUBLE-DOUBLE!!!
I feel I did a terrible thing when I bought my G1 judging by this thread. I paid almost 700 CAD and ended up signing onto a 2 year contract after the fact because I needed data as well....
There should be an icon for getting pounded in the bum.
Remember everyone,
These are the "current" prices.
3 months ago G1's were going for about $50 broken, and $120 used.
After the phone first released, they were like $450 for an unlocked phone and even more if it was one of the first rooted phones.
To many people are buying the G1 because it is the new Super toy. My friend with an Iphone, another friend with a Nokia 900 and I are constantly playing the, 'Oh yeh my phone does..." game.
The more people who buy them, the more the market floods and the faster prices can drop.
A large handful of these people you have met...we often see them with posts like "HELP! I just bricked my phone!"
Prices will go down when the Nexus One gets released because it will become the new HOT item.
Then we can all buy super cheap replacement parts for our G1's that are also running the Nexus software thanks to people like Cyanogen, Dwang, and all the other great Devs who have been working on these phones.
As far as paying to much...can't help you there. Research is always your best friend.
$125 that seems good
G1's in the US in perfect condition are about $200-$250 on ebay... I got mine a couple months ago for $190, and felt lucky at that price. Perfect condition, only 2 hours of talk time, guy got the phone to test for a magazine, used it for 2 weeks, then sold it. I did plenty of research and spend a month waiting for one in the right condition at the right price to come my way.
Anyone that thinks they only paid "$125" for it are ignoring the fact that was the 2yr contract price, the actual price of the phone new is more like $400.
If all it has is that one little scratch, it will go for up to $200 if unlocked and in an auction. If you do a buy it now posting, $150-$175 will sell quickly and is more than fair.
I push them to $400 AUD ,,, if someone wants their rooted phone they can pay the price
I will buy them for $300 unlocked if I have someone wanting a phone rooted
they are $460 New
If someone Brings me their phone I will root for Free ...

Thanks for your valuable input on this.
If I should post it on ebay (most likely there than Craigslist), do you recommend I mention the technical details?
ie: it is rooted, has installed Cyanogen ROM 4.2.9.1 + RA-dream-v1.5.2 recovery
I know for sure I will definately take some high resolution pics of it to clearly show its fine condition.
Yes, realize what you pay for.
When you say that you are paying someone on ebay or craigslist the same price what you can get one from Tmob for, you are not. You pay that price at Tmob because you are signing a contract. On ebay and craigslist you are just getting the phone. That's why you get these phones for so cheap from any cell carrier. Because you are signing a contract. If you buy the phone without the contract, you will pay $300 plus for the phone.
Some people buy online for different reasons. To root the phone or use on another network.
And lately, people are not going to want to pay that much for a phone they are going to experiment on anyway. You can get a good used mytouch for about $150. When I had my G1, I bought it a year ago from someone for $175. But, if yours is in decent condition, you should still get a good price for it though.
Hey guys,
Got a brand new WHITE HTC EVO 4G for Sprint, CLEAN ESN, that I fully rooted with Like a Pine Cone. I've put CM6.1 on it with full Gingerbread theme, New Market, HULU, and much more! Phone has only been opened to be rooted along with it's cord. Phone was kept in a protective case while rooting in order to prevent any wear to it. I will put it back in its bag and original box along with the cord and the package will be same as New. The thing is READY TO ROCK!!!
Asking $385 for it and I could ship it out at no charge for ya via USPS Priority Mail 2-3 business day deliver. I have a couple high-end cases and an 1800 maH extended battery left over from my last Evo. If you guys want, I can include those items for an additional $30. I have an Otter Box case ($40) and a Body Glove case ($25) and the 1800mah battery w/ charger ($35)
Call or email me with any questions or to buy:

Got this one as a Christmas gift for my GF a couple weeks ago but we broke up this past Thursday :'( Time to sell and get myself some goodies instead. Any hot ladies out there, feel free to holla!
If you have had it less then 30 days, you can return it to sprint. Might wanna throw it up on eBay. Any Pictures? Good luck.
I didn't buy it from Sprint. I bought it brand new and sealed from Ebay because I didn't want to pay $500+ for it through the Sprint store or add another contract. My GF already had Sprint but had the hero and wanted the EVO. So, I just gotta sell it outright
Haven't taken pics yet...didn't think it'd be necessary given it's brand spankin' new but I'll post some for sure if that's the will of the people! LOL
I generally do post a bunch on ebay but MAN, their damn fees have gone sky high. Between ebay and paypal, you're giving up about a 12% chunk and have to sell the damn thing pretty cheap considering all the wholesellers and scammers that post ridiculously low prices. I bought this one fairly cheap to be honest with you. I paid $395 Buy it Now and $5.95 for shipping. Not bad for a sealed one but had I known this **** would go down with my GF, I would have kept the damn thing sealed and sold it for roughly the same if not a couple bucks more, and locally.
Just posted it on ebay with a few pics for anyone that's interested. Link:
MY EVO ON EBAY
does anyone know if asurion (tmobile insurance for 6.99) will replace my "lost" hd2 with a newer phone or are they still offering hd2's. i heard they were discontinued.
i wouldnt mind getting a g2x lol. not likely but that would make me very happy.
oh and if it makes a difference i am in the u.s.
I just claimed a real lost HD2 about a week ago and got an HD2 in the mail the next day, so you can't scam them yet (although honestly I personally would feel like a slimeball trying to scam a phone like that, pretty much admitting you can't get one thru honest means)
edit: I wouldn't trade an HTC for an LG anyways, even if it is Dual-Core.
As long as they are still offering the HD2, which they are check the website, all you will get from a insurance claim is another HD2. I think you will still have to pay a hundred bucks to get the device though. But heyca hundred bucks for a HD2, you can not beat that.
$130 .

They must have went up on it seems I bought my HD2. I was told $100 to replace my HD2 with the insurance, which I do have. But hey $130 is still not bad.
its horrible to see how fast the hd2 lost value. if im lucky i can get 200 on craigslist. it was like this like 3-4 months after the phone came out. even luckier is how it hasnt gone down since then.
i guess im waiting for the sensation
most likely 3 months away
I'm not sure what experiences other people have had with asurion, but mine sucked. Filed my claim and paid accordingly (which took 24 hours to actually process) then they stated the phone was shipped out "next day" , however not providing a tracking number. Finally 2 days later providing a tracking number, no update whatsoever regarding it until I called it in. Then they tell me there was a "problem" with my shipment and that they're going to order a replacement phone for me the same day.
Had a very bad experience with Asurion, so no more phone insurance
Agreed. Asurion isn't worth it. yes, $130 to replace the phone. Except, I've had T-Mobile for 6 years, and been paying $6.99/month on two lines and have never had a reason to use it till recent. Which is to say, I've paid $500 into the service, and still had to pay $130 "desposit fee". And they wouldn't do anything to help me, other than charge me to use a service I've paid for. I would have enough money to pay out of pocket for the phone easily if I'd set asside the money myself. Which is what I'm doing as soon as I go and cancel the insurance. Especially as now they're going to start charging $5 to file a claim, as of June. Screw you, Asurion. For doing nothing.
in my area ive never paid over 200 for an hd2. usually around 150. off of cs.
I just cracked my screen, I looked on the tmobile website and there isnt a hd2 new hd2/refurbished for sale...I would pay the deduct if it they would upgrade similar model but if not I might as well get a 40 dollar digitizer replacement on ebay. Anyone know a updated answer on this?
Tis what happened to me. Dropped the phone onto cement, and it landed corner first. Broke the screen. And yeah, T-Mobile and Asurion (the equipment protection company that the insurance goes to) are both out of stock of HD2's now. You'll be stuck getting an HD7. And no other options. Peroid. Trust me, I asked, begged, yelled, etc at them to get me a different phone. Heck, tried to get them to lower or waive the fee, as per previous post in this thread. Honestly, I really do need to file a complaint against Asurion. It's a scam, IMO.
If you love your HD2, and don't mind voiding your warrantly permanently, getting a replacement screen/digitizer is worth the money. $60 at most, which is better than the $130 "replacement" fee for an HD7 instead.
Last month my Tmobile HD2 fell on the cement also and had a broken screen. File with Asurion and i also had to pay a fee of $130. But i received withing 2 days another refurbished HD2. Im surprise how Drashna said that there our of stock of HD2. Drashna im curious but did you received a New or Refurbished HD7 phone?
Seriously just found it today (after reading an article that says its $50 on there), I gave it a shot and if you do a new VZW contract or do it as an upgrade the phone is $0.01 . Of course I STILL can't get it because my upgrade isn't for another month and no matter how much I ask VZW to do it early they won't (my Motorola Droid's keyboard is literally falling off as the glue holding the keys on melts from the heat of the processor, I tried gluing back on with no luck it melted away).
I'm sure this deal will still be around then but I'm getting antsy, and picking my keys up off the ground is annoying.

On a side note, the earliest that VZW will let you upgrade early is 1 week before your upgrade date.
Try and ask them that if they can hold the offer price for you when you upgrade in a month.
My carrier had an offer that saved 380~ dollars plus the savings from contracts, and it only lasted a week. Good thing my brother and I got ourselves brand new phones each
My courier let's you upgrade 4months in advance if you threaten to cancel the contract and resign with another company. Maybe that's what you should do.
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.
Spoke to them today and they are giving me an early upgrade (good news) but I need to do it at the VZW store (bad news). VZW currently has it for $99 which is still a good deal (and I will probably get a $30 credit bringing it to $69) but to get it for a penny would be better. I'm going to call Amazon in the AM to see if they can see it on my account and do it for me, otherwise I'll head to the store and see what I can do. Considering how annoying the keypad screwing up on my droid is I may just eat the cost to have it a month earlier than planned.
Just to give an epilogue to this story, Amazon would not do the early upgrade (I don't blame them, it wasn't their authorization). Went to the VZW store, paid $150 with a $50 mail in rebate, no new every 2 credit (would have had to wait till Sept) so I lost $30 there, then sold my OG Droid to a recycler for $61 so my net cost is $39.
If I had waited I would have gotten the phone for a penny and made back the phone recycle cost (however I noticed those fluctuate a lot so who knows if I would have gotten $61 in a month, It was $80 2 months ago!). So really my net cost could be more, but my old phone was pissing me off to no end, so the price and the fact I'm having a blast with this phone already made it worth it.
PS I almost walked away from the deal because of the difference in price but realized in a month I don't even know if this phone will be available. They literally had 1 in the store, covered in dust and the Verizon guy said hes never even had anyone ask about the phone let alone buy it.
I bought my XP from Amazonwireless for $50, renewed my 2 year contract several months ahead of time
Amazon wouldn't let me do the purchase until I called VZW and told them I wanted a new phone and would get it through Amazon. My contact/every 2 wasn't over until 10/15/2011 or so. I called VZW, they lifted the resitriction and I purchased the phone from Amazon for $50. All I told Verizon was that I was going to get a new phone and renew my contract, I guess it helps that I'm a 10+ year customer.
Then I sold my OG Droid with GPA15 on ebay for $120.

Hmm I've been with them for 10+ yrs as well, but they wouldn't budge on that. You must be more persuasive than me. Ohh well, for $39 I can't complain.
true, a deal is a deal
They did this for me when I purchased my Droid from Amazon a few years ago also. I'm not aggressive or anything when I call, I just bring up a few facts (never late, long time, renewing) and they cut me some slack.

Ok cool well at least now I know for next time I will definitely try this approach, I don't recall that i specifically mentioned that I wanted to buy through Amazon. Well anyway I have 2 years until I can do anything about it, but I will definitely try it then. Hopefully we have the "Play2" by then...
