Does anyone use iSyncr (or Cheetah sync) with CM9?
I have CM7 on emmc and iSyncr is working fine. When I test CM9 from sd I cannot get iSyncr to work. It will fail to connect and wifi becomes inoperable. I have to toggle wifi off and back on before I can use it again.
I can replicate the failure by just installing iSyncr and the wifi add on to a clean install of CM9. I have tried this with 2 different Nook Colors, 2 different sd cards, several different CM9 builds. The iSyncr dev has no other reports of issues.
So, does anyone have this working, or am I the only one trying this? I may try installing CM9 to emmc to see if that would make a difference, but I would like to hear from someone who has it working first.

Hello, I have an EU HD2 running Hyperdoid 2.1.0, but I've had this problem no matter which rom I tried and I'm at my wits' end trying to solve it.
When I connect to WPA wifi routers, the connection starts out fine, but after a short while my connection to the router seems to get cut off. The delay before this happens could be seconds or it could be 1 or two minutes and seems to depend on the amount of data passing over the interface - when I view a streaming video for example, I get disconnected almost immediately, when I browse pages with few graphics it lasts a bit more. I tried this with 3 or 4 different routers with identical results.
Notwithstanding that no data is getting through, the phone still indicates that I am connected to the wifi router and when I ping the router it gives me a "no route to host". WEP and open networks work fine, so I had to change my home network to WEP, but I'm not conforable with it due to security concerns. I also have problems connecting to public wifi ap's because they are usually secured by WPA.
I suspect that this is related to the wpa_supplicant supplied with tytung's kernel, but I really have no way of knowing what's going on and I haven't been able to find anything in the logs.
Can anybody give me a hand with this? Solving this problem would make the hd2 the perfect phone for me.
please post this in the Q&A section NOT the dev section
i do not suffer from these issues and my router is wpa2 secured

The problem in this world is... FLAMING coming from people that are kinda stupid to help.. no offense as i haven't mentioned any of you.. I just can't understand, none of those flamers are mods/devs.. maybe i can say trolls since its a hobby..
Well i might help, i remember such a question before and i think i know the solution of WIFI connection disappearance.. there's an application (which you can find it in market) that survive's or something your WiFi connection.. i'll try searching it and if i find it.. i'll post the link..
Good luck with those flamers =)

Thanks white-energy. I use wifi fixer when I need to connect to a wpa network, but it's a less than satisfactory solution because it doesn't stop the connection from dropping - it just reconnects automatically. That means that I can browse almost normally, but streaming video or downloading is still almost impossible.
If you know of better software I would be very much obliged.

While I agree that this the wrong forum, should be moved to the right forum et all, here is my $0.02
Have you tried Tytung's NexusHD2 build (not just the kernel)? try 2.8 or 2.9, in my experience his implementation is the most reliable. So reliable that I use the Wifi/BT drivers and related files in my CM7 nightly build. And it works like a charm.
If you are having troubles even in his ROM, something else is wrong. Top of my head, try a different radio. I toggle between 2.12 and 2.15, both with varying degrees of reliability.

Hi ph03n!x,
Thanks for the tips. I haven't tried NexusHD2 because I like the cm7 mods. But I will presently, just to make sure. I'll also try switching radios.
Well.. i guess i have found it... here
It looks like it has some special things.

Give NexusHD2 a shot just to find the Wifi stability.
You can try the latest of the CM7 nightlies released by Arif Ali, along with Tytung's kernel (available in his thread).
I can upload my custom CM7 build based on Arif Ali's CM7 nightlies with Tytung's Kernel and Wifi/ BT drivers and related files somewhere, but am a cLK user. And of course I will have to remove my paid apps from it before sharing

Hi white-energy. I gave it a test drive but no luck. This software seems to be intended to maintain wifi while the Device is sleeping, but this problem I have occurs while the device is being used. Thanks anyway for your help!

I'm about to switch the radio. Let you know what happens .

Ok, so I tried switching radio to .12 - no joy. I also tried Tytung's NexusHD2, but it does exactly the same thing.
I don't know what else to try. If there weren't other people with this problem, I would suspect that my phone is defective, but would that make sense given that open networks and wep networks work fine??
Hello one and all, Great job on CM7, however i have not been able to use my wireless for anything. On CM7.0 RC1,3,4 it wouldn't even turn on. Now on CM7.1 RC1 / nightly's, it will turn on, but it will error out when it try's to activate the interface. I can get USB teather to work, but not the wireless. the radio work fine as it is, it is the stock radio, and im not fond of upgrading it. IF you want the log let me know
There are lots of bugs with every CynogenMod Roms. They try to reduce it with every update.
So try to get the latest release, hope it solve your problems.

To answer your question. There are several apps in the "app world" that will work with most, if not all, ROMs.
You can use Barnacle from the market.
Or you can use the Open Source .apk
[http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list]
The nice thing about the Google Code one is you can block MAC addresses so not everyone is tethering off of you in public places. I always like leaving my SSID shown as something like "mah android powered your iPod", but use the MAC filtering.
I know the sound and video on CM7 is supposedly good now, but what about the Wifi issues, are they resolved? I recently rooted and was looking to install CM7, just wanted to make sure the WiFi was legit before I did so. Thanks.
I installed CM7 on my Fire a few hours ago and used it to do a lot via WiFi. My experience was pretty smooth, no specific issues at the moment.
WIFI works good.
Will Wifi on CM7 now connect thru Adhoc networks or are we still limited to Infrastructure networks? Thanks.
WiFi working well. I did have one problem though, and that was with it not turning WiFi on automatically if CM7 was rebooted. I had to search for airplane mode terminal command to fix it, but I don't recall what it was. Maybe someone else can post here just in case it's needed.

Ok, I'm running the Mirage KANG of CM7 on my nook, and I've got a stock rooted ICS HTC Vivid running Faux's 007 kernel. Just recently installed the kernel, so that's my suspicious point, but I'm on the road so not much time to research.
Basically, I can wifi tether to my Vivid with laptop and with nook, but the connection keeps crapping out. Downloads on the nook will stall out. Sometimes I'll be unable to open pages for a bit there or on laptop.
Bonus variable, I'm sitting in an airport with a million wifi signals around me.
Even better? I'm on a locked down work laptop that encrypts any removable media or treats it as read only, so I can't really do any tinkering.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

Please use the console, running the following command, I think this will help tezet.
1. su -
2. dmesg > /sdcard/dmesg.log
3. logcat -t time -d > /sdcard/logcat.log
Please parse the logcat.log and mesg.log in here. It can help rd to analyse what's wrong it is.
ok i have make this (see in attachement in zip file)
I do your command in terminal
install bubbleupnp
search dlna server (no discovery and wifi crash)
close app bubbleupnp
switch of wifi
switch on wifi (wifi now working)
close terminal
I have install ago app Wifi Fixer of Zanshin-g1 but don't help me
thanks for interesting
:good:
Guys,
I am having exactly the same problem. Installed CM10, tried BubbleUPnP, Media House... same effects. Did not find any device (which were found before with stock GB, and also by other devices yet) and crashes / freezes the Wi-Fi.
Does anyone have any solution?
Regards!
I'm having the same problem, but on a different device and a different rom: Droid 2 Global, running AOKP-Kanged v1.8 (4.0.4). was running CM7 GB but decided to change roms today because the Wi-Fi has always had issues dropping out after a random amount of time. I use the device mainly for streaming internet radio and as a DLNA client, so if wifi isn't stable, it's pretty annoying/useless to me.
Anyhow, updated to this new rom and was thrilled that I could stream internet radio for hours without the Wi-Fi cutting out. Awesome!!
Then I installed MediaHouse (upon/dlna client) which has worked really well for me on this and other devices, and spent the next several hours tearing my hair out because of wifi issues.
As OP has said, when the dlna app tries to discover the servers, it does something to the Wi-Fi where it looks like it's connected, but the connection is completely hosed. The app never picks up the server either.
So far I've tried MediaHouse and Skifta. Both have worked in the past, but neither work now; they both send wifi into a tail spin. I also have a tv, an Xbox 360, and a Galaxy S3 and they can all connect to the server fine, so I know it's the phone, and that it's only started being a problem after switching to this rom.
I'm very interested in following this issue. If there's anything I can do to debug this, I'm happy to do so and post findings.
-Rick
And I'm having the same problem = /
Has anyone got any solution? Has anyone talked to TEZET about this problem?
I had the same problem when I used the CM9of alecx804 and not had this problem using of CM10.1 Eagle_Mars (I just do not use more of Eagle_Mars because the bluetooth does not work for media ç.ç)
Only remains this to this ROM be perfect, it would be cool to send it to Motorola to show that the Milestone 2 can receive updates of the operating system and can be faster than the original with Motoblur.
Any news? Any solution fo DLNA?
