[Q] Any WIUI doesn't work on my device :( - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
My device: Motorola Defy CyanogenMod 7.2 off st bootmenu 2.0.0, multiboot defy 0.5 (2.2.2, Poland, green camera SOC, JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179 deodex, radio EPU93_U_00.59.01)
I try to install WIUI (2.4, 2.5, 2.6) from different sources on Multiboot (cache - 150mb, data - 750mb, system - 350mb) more than 15 times. Doesn't work:
2.4-2.5 - black screen
2.6.15,16,22 - first load, work screen, reboot and than cyclic reboot from the boot animation
CM7, CM9, MIUI 2.4 work fine
Flash yesterday JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179 deodex - didn't help
Help me please.
P.S. I do not have enough posts to post in the topic of firmware WIUI

Is there anyone in the house?

Does it boot without multiboot?
Sent from my MB526 using XDA

I didn't try because I need stable main firmware with all working functions for all days using. Now it's CM7.2

up

Maybe issue with multiboot.
Wiui GB is very stable. go for it. Its based on CM 7.2

Do you have installed multi boot manager? Look up if something is wrong (written in red), this is an bug i had sometimes. But will try it if its working on an other defy.
- So 2.6.8 is working s virtual for me the other version will test later

At the Russian-speaking forum, no one is loaded on multiboot. I want to try, but don't want to flash on Nand.

Yes, I have. CM7, CM9, MUIU work fine.
I even flashed MIUI 2.4 and than flash WIUI 2.6 over MUIU 2.4. Didn't help

Check the md5 sum? Sometimes i got trouble because the zip wasn't complete. And file size was 0kb.

Thank you for advice.
But I tried more than 15 different files.

Flash 7.1.0.1 stable. 7.1.0 was broken, unfortunately.
ship s-off rooted with cwrecovery 2.5.10.0, i did wipe data/cache before flashing the 7.1.0 stable cm rom.
now i use cm nightly 220.
Here's Mine:
Phone: HTC Wildfire S-Off
Android: 2.3.7
OverClocked: 352MHz-576MHz (smartass v2)
VM Heap Size: 24m
ROM: Nightly (cm_buzz_full-220.zip )
Radio: 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
Recovery: ClockworkMod 2.5.10.0
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-nFinity arco(at)tuxbox #1
how can i get 7.1.0.1 stable?
cm'forum was banned in my country, and i can't find7.1.0.1 in cyanogen download mirror network.
For some reason, it is not showing up on the Cyanogen Download network, but the mirror has it:
http://goo-inside.me/cm/buzz/stable/update-cm-7.1.0.1-buzz-signed.zip
BTW, the issue should be fixed on Nightly #220 as well, if I am not mistaken.
Anyone tested if status bar issue was fixed on 220 nightly?
I just flah 7.1.0.1 on my wildfire 7.0.3 but still have some problem .
status bar is fine but when i set something it will be dead so i have to put my battery out and restart and if i wake up my phone by power button it doesn't work and it still black screen so i have to do that again.

Did you try a reflashing the ROM after performing a Wipe in Clockworkmod Recovery? I am still using 7.1.0.1 and it works beautifully. (Or are you just interested in posting your same post everywhere?)

[Q] Problem with Defy Plus and CM7.

Hello everyone
So yesterday i flashed this CM7 build cm72-111212.1201-NIGHTLY-Defy+.zip and today i was going to take a picture just to find out that my camera force closes everytime i try to launch it.Any solutions for this?
I flashed it over stock 2.3.5 if that helps...
No one knows? I tried reflashing and that didnt work...When i try to run it i get camera(process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly and force close button.BTW my battery stops charging at 88%,anyone knows whats up with that?
I suggest flashing a new CM7.2 Nightly build for defy+
from this great thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458729 i found:
12-01-27 Epsylon7/Defy+:
cm72-120127.0846-NIGHTLY-Defy+ link: http://www.defy-cm.net/defy_plus-cm7-nightly/
and AL's posted Defy+ fixes for camera and battery etc http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21875699&postcount=15069
I flashed this over a stock Defy+ 2.3.4 4.5.1-134_DFP-74
Thanks for your reply i always thought i had the latest one since it was the first on the list...well i gotta pay more attention to dates
EDIT:Everything works now,thanks again...
defy plus
Hey,
Even i have a defy plus with 2.3.4 rom...and kernel 2.6.36.9 ....planning to flash the latest defy plus nightly.....
I have rooted and installed 2ndinit and took a nandroid backup of my rom sucessfully.....so whats the next step??
Do i need to install anything else before installing the defy plus nightly??
And what are the features it enables??
Does it provide 720p video recording and playback??
Newbie here. please help.
Thanks.
if you installed 2ndinit and booted to CWM-recovery ... and you already have a nandroid backup of your device, you only have to install the zip from sdcard and you are ready to go (maybe you need to flash fixed-sbf with the kernel for cm7) ...
hi ganesh0992,
slstr above has given good links regarding flashing CM7.2 on defy plus. I am running the same build of CM7.2 cm72-120127.0846-NIGHTLY-Defy+. you should follow those instructions and don't forget to apply battery/camera fix.
720p capability is not supported in this ROM by default, you will need to apply a different patch, i don't know if one exists for CM but there is one for STOCK rom and another rom (mginger), google it. (CANT POST LINKS NEW USER!!)

This is a known problem in the nightly you used! Use Quarx nightlies. They are better and more updated!

I want to a) delete all thats on the phone and b) install cyanogenmod and the google pack.
If I find several pieces to go through the comlete installation I am happy to make one complete post out of it for everyone.
Thanks,
Jean
That is for defy not defy+
You will get a frequently updated CM7 at fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=cm7&device=jordanplus
Flash the ROM from here on your defy+.
Root your phone and install 2nd init. Then flash the rom in custom recovery. There are plenty of tutorials! Even videos! Google

And CM10 use all my ram memory, so I almost can not use application.
Do you have an idea to fix this bug.
And what is the difference between the CM10 and Quarx epsylon?
(sorry for my english i'm french)

Android as a system works better when it has very little RAM because it freezes activities in RAM like Messaging and then restores the instance when you open Messaging. If you have problems with RAM further than this go to Developer Options>Background Process Limit and change it to 3 or 4 and reboot which should free up some more RAM.

Wipe Data (factory reset) from Stock recovery.
CM10 is the generic ROM - quarx and epsylon make specific builds for the Defy.
Try wiping data using CWM recovery that came with CM10
reflash your rom
boot it once.
reboot to CWM and install Gapps.
reboot and see if something changed about RAM consumption.

[Q] unable to install MIUI

Hello friends,
I have installed custom ROMs many times before... I have tried MIUI, cyanogenmod 9, etc...
But, before few days my phone had stuck at the boot logo, so I flashed it using the SBF- JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-36-1.7
my phone is Motorola Defy (green lense) MB525...
Now, when I am trying to install MIUI or WIUI , it is showing installation complete,
but, after rebooting the system it is booting in my Normal FROYO only...
How can I install MIUI on my phone again now????
What the.. unbelievable.. Ok then try a newer 2ndinit apk and check the installation zip files. Is the problem limited to miui or does it happen with ANY ROM?

Thank you very much buddy!!
Actually, this time I was using "tenfar recovery" on my friends suggestion... I think there was some problem with that...
Now, after flashing my defy I installed the newer version of "2nd init recovery"...
And MIUI is running well on my defy now...
