Hi people
I have a sapo a5 aka ZTE Blade
It is an zte blade with a 5 megapixel camera.
But I have a very BIG problem, sometimes when I open images using the gallery, my phone crashes to the green android (reboot), in other words, isn't the gallery process crashing, is the phone itself.
With the original ROM (sapo 2.2 froyo) i don't have any problems but i don't like the original, it is too slow, etc.. I have the crash problem with all cm7 versions and other roms. I have friends with the same phone and they don't have any problem with the gallery. It's a strange problem because this only occurs with photos, I don't get any crash playing games, etc..
I don't get the crash with the cm7.0, but in this version the phone sensor doesn't work on the gallery if i don't install a properly driver.
So I think the problem is on the sensor drivers.

I don't understand. Are you saying to install de ZTE Libra/Blade oficial ROM?
But if I want the CM7 rom, how I can fix this problem?

But I want CM7 My friends can use CM7 without this problem with the same phone...

It may. There's no guarantee.
Recently I had a strange problem with Google Play too. Flashing stock solved my problem

To me, use a third party camera app can resolve updown filp in miui. But it take a few seconds to init the app.

To solve this issue once and for all, go back to "pink screen" maintenance mode and replace the boot.img with the original one you had prior to rooting.
Some phones have this issue, but some don't, it's a matter of hardware I guess.
hi,i just bought zte blade, rooted, installed cwm, upgraded to gen 2 using tpt method, and installed CM7, stable 7.0.3, also tried RC1, latest nightly and a few random nighlies
and my problem occurs in all of them.... auto rotate isnt working... IT IS TURNED ON in sttings,tried to turn on of tried to reboot tried to wipe everything tried factory reset nothing helps... and i see im not the first one with this problem but all of the topics started about this issue have 0 replies.. this bug is not stated anywhere in changelogs and in fact it makes CM7 unusable on ZTE Blade.. cause you cant always message and browse and do everything in portrait view... i heard its a kernel issue that every overclock enabled kernel on device upraded from g1 to g2 makes accelerometer or g sensor or w/e you call it stop working.. i really love cm7 and i bought this phone thinking im gonna use it on it and this issue is really frustrating please help someone.. please
Try another ROM like Swedish Spring or Ginger Stir Fry and if it still occurs in those ROM's then it's probably a hardware fault.

hi there, ive bought my blade 2 days ago, and got the same issue you are talking about, i flashed it to swedish and find out that auto-rotate doesnt work, so ive tried different kernel that should have helped, but istead blade didnt even boot, ive also tried newest CM7 with no luck...kinda desperate and confused that there are just few threads about this and no real solution, thinking of going back to stock froyo, but iam afraid of bricking...if u find any solution write here or on email, ill do the same if i find one, thx
New Blades seem to have different sensor hardware. Try Sensor List from market and compare the results with this screen (from Orange San Francisco bought earlier this year):

didnt know that, people posting about this on CM7 forums dont get much attention
if they really manage to get it to work that will be my uber happy day like when i had wildfire stock 2.2 and alpharevx came out

Got my blade yesterday...auto rotate was working well till i upgraded to gen2 and installed cm7. I have being doing a lot of research on that...so if anyone comes up with a workaround, please inform
P.S i am not uninstalling cm7, thats the best rom i have ever seen

Now Brian n the rest, there is no work around on it, tried changing different kernels without success, finally flashed cm7 n installed Ginger Stir Fry, its been 3 days n everything is fine, but remember u`ve already upgraded to Gen 2, so no need of Tpt install, just get the Rom, its also very good at preserving power. with problems hit me up on twitter @alexakams
i also use Ginger Stir Fry because AutoRotation dont work with cm7. its a clean and fast rom, but Elitemovil Blade_Rom is also an option.
Good news for Idea Blade users. The CM7 Rom by Burgerz found here works on our phones perfectly. Camera and touchscreen issues are fixed and the Rom is FAST. I'm using it now, you might want to give it a try

I Have an Idea Blade. Had problem with both camera and touchscreen in CM7.1.0. Yesterday i tried the CM7 Rom by Burgerz. Touchscreen is working properly but still can't use the camera. The same "cannot connect camera" error appears.What are all the partitions should i format? I've formatted data, cache and dalvik partitions. Still the problem persists.

Some newer Blades have different hardware which needs different drivers to work. As ZTE doesn't release the source code for these properly, the current roms won't work properly on all of the newer versions. If may be possible that someone can fix it, but without ZTE releasing the sources it will be difficult for them.

I'm running this one from Burstlam and really like it. I prefer it because Burgerz's using and older (and plain) launcher. Camera works fine also.

ok installed it on my idea blade and everything was working perfectly until i switched off. on turning the phone on the touchscreen stopped responding, got similar problem with swedish snow and MMHMP.

You might want yo PM the dev about it. I had similar issues on CM stable but not anymore. Also you can give a try to LewaOS and other Chinese roms. They are based on cm7 fot the V880 which is what idea blade is.

I also had the same problem with CM7.1. Formatting the cache and data partitions might make the touchscreen work (worked for me). Even though you format the partitions, touchscreen will stop working after the phone get into sleep mode and you have to format the data and cache partitions every time the touchscreen stops responding.
I have heard that Libraginger works fine on ZTE-U V880. But the download link seems to be broken. I am working on CM7 Rom by Burgerz even though camera is not functioning as i feel it is much stable and lesser buggier than official ZTE rom.

Is there any way to backup driver for the camera from the stock rom and use it the current custom rom? I know the kernels are different. Still is there any chance?...

Even i had the same touchscreen problem when i installed MMHMP on my idea blade. All i had to do is restore the stock rom which was working fine and then i again installed MMHMP and its working fine.

i am also facing the same problem for 3 months now. my yureka (cyanogenMod 12.1) not working. called customer care, did reset, factory reset, hard reset, even flash with 12.1 file yureka guys sent me on my email. still no use. today i got a 225 mb incremental update. hoped now the problem would be fixed but still its not working. help please. note that one of my friend also facing the same problem, he has yureka plus.

I think this camera focussing issue is affecting all Yureka/Yureka Plus users. I have a rooted Yureka running CM 14.1 Unofficial. The rear camera is unable to focus. Front one is working fine. I suppose it's a software issue rather a hardware one as I've never damaged the device by which the camera performance would get affected.
Dunno how will I fix this. My three friends having Yureka/Yureka Plus are experiencing the same problem and YU doesn't give a damn about it. They will provide you the very outdated CM 12.1 ROM as a solution or will charge heavily.
Is there someone who has solution?

Did u try it with any other camera app ?? Are u rooted..? when did it stop focussing and how..?
I have also same problem after i update with incremental update yog4pas8aj so please tell any solution if there

Facing Same Camera Focus issues
Tried 3-4 camera apps from Play Store
Rooted, RR v5.8.3 Built-22 May
After flashing Custom Rom, it has stopped working
I would suggest u to try some other custom ROM..maybe camera is broken in ur current rom build.

I have the same problem in my yu yureka. After some research, I came to the conclusion that it is not a hardware problem, but close enough to it. According to what I read, it happens when some of the binary files associated with the camera get corrupted. I thought it should be fixable by copying the original files again, though I haven't been able to achieve anything in that matter. When I took the phone to service centre, they told me that the camera needs to be replaced. I didn't get it repaired. A similar problem occurred in my previous phone as well, which happened after I changed my ROM a couple of times. Even in this phone, it occurred right after changing the ROMS a couple times. Which leads me to believe that changing the ROM multiple time causes this issue.
I am on Stock ROM never Changed, never upgraded, Currently on Cyanogen 11. Never Rooted. But Issue arised after 2.5 yrs of usage. Info Just to figure out what is wrong.
I don't know why u all are facing this issue,
Try flashing CNM on Custom ROMs....
And check if it is working fine or not

I am also facing this problem. I think this might happen because of heating issue. Due to heat, the camera got damaged.

A tried other many ROMs, MODs, Different Camera Apps, but no benefit. The result is same. The camera is not focussing.

I recently decided to root this device with the help of my friend. He used Resurrection remix as the custom ROM and is now Android 7.1.2. Everything was fine until I discovered my video camera isn't working at all. Camera on the other hand works as it's supposed to. Facebook messenger's video call crashes, video recording crashes, - everything related to video recording crashes. I tried to download camera apps on play store, same results. I tried clearing data on camera, restarting device, or turning off device doesn't help either. What could the problem possibly be? I need answers! Thank you!

Its a bug of rom
So should what should we do next? Reinstall another custom ROM? The ROM actually came here at XDA (Resurrection Remix Android 7.1.2). But there are also other ROMs (CyanogenMod).
Stick to this rom , i am also having the same problem I'm sure they will resolve the issue

There is another rom in the lenovo russian forums and that is Resurrection Remix too but compiled from different sources. That rom is pretty stable without any major issues. You can install that one.
Video recording is working fine in that rom...
