Version 8.1 doesn't work on 32B, try 0.7 instead.
That version should work.
i tryied with 0.7 too, same problem
in official thread is written "NOTE FOR 32B USERS: This ROM -works- for 32B ---BUT--- you have to flash an appropiate kernel for it to work, as the included one only works for 32A. "

There is a newer radio available, but it requires a new SPL and not many ROMs run on it.
I belive the 3.22.23.18 is the newest for 32A devices.
But correct me if im wrong.

That's the last one but for the Sense... It uses a different size partition... So I believe he is asking for the latest radio for no-sense magics...

but why we need to update Radio? for what? for better connection quality?
It's strickly recommended to use radio pairing with SPL.

I don't have RUU update with this spl. May be, do you have a one?
As more wireless carriers start selling the 32A Magic with Sense UI preinstalled, there will be many more phones with the new 6.35.07.29 radio and the new 1.76.0007 SPL.
Except for very minor hardware changes, this radio/SPL combination makes the 32A Magic nearly identical to the Hero.
I'm using HBOOT 1.33.2009 Eng SPL together with RADIO version 3.22.23.18 on my Magic 32A. Works perfectly with MyHero 2.0.5. First, I updated the SPL using a zip file in recovery, and a few days later, I also updated the radio via fastboot.
Seems like my reception became somewhat better with the new radio. Was using 3.22.20.17 before.
I'm also running with 3.22.23.18 with hboot 1.33.2009
So 3.22.23.18 is the newest, also with non perfect spl.

My spl is 1.33.2010 and using Recovery 1.5.1,,,
for flashing radio,,
can I just simply rename to update.zip and flash in recovery 1.5.1?
OR flash it under fastboot?(what is the commend line thta I need to type in CMD?)

where to get the 3.22.23.18 radio updates?

All we need to do is extract the radio from the official rom by HTC and flash it by fastboot right???

That's how I did it. I unpacked the official ROM and looked at the radio.img in a text viewer. Searched for 3.22 and found the version string. This worked for me and should work for others too.
However, different radios might be suitable for different regions of the world, so be careful to use the radio from a rom that is designed for your region, or else you may not be able to connect to your local network. That's my guess, anyway.

Actually my magic is from Singapore and I'm in Chile and it works, so, I think I will not have any trouble using a newer radio ...
All I need is to find the newer radio xD...

If you flash a 32A radio onto a 32B device, it will work...
You'd then need to flash Amon_RA H recovery.
Issues... None except a much slower phone. Bluetooth works on Sense ROMs though, which I don't even think is an issue anymore.
Its all over at the G1 section, I flashed it on my MyTouch 3G, tons of us 32bers have flashed the new Radio

You mean the 32B radio 2.22.23.02. But QTeknology means 3.22.20.17. Which is a 32A radio.

It's a 32B Radio too, It was on a Official HTC Vodafone Rom downloadable over the German HTC Web page.

Yes, i know what you mean. But i don't think it is a 32B radio because my normal recovery didn't started. After i tried it with a 32A kernel it booted fine.

A Lot of Vodafone stuff inside the rom
The Android build is for Vodafone, i think. But the radio is 32A. Btw, don't flash the engineering SPL 1.33.2004 G if you have this radio, it will brick your device.
To be honest this whole thread gives me the heeby geebies, flashing radios is usually where bricks happen and I don't see there is any benefit to anybody changing their radio if what they currently have isn't giving them any problems.
Just my 2 cents .... on the subject of radios if it aint broke then don't try and fix it!
Flashing radio does not worry me, as I don't think it's possible to brick as long as you have original SPL? I've upgraded my Magic to 2.22.23.02 and it made a good difference.
Flashing SPL does give me the heeby geebies. It's pretty clear-cut for US T-Mobile G1s like the one I own, but for my Australian 1.33.0004 Magic I still can't get a straight answer as to what Eng SPL I should flash. 2004G seems to be the right one but I'm not 100% sure.
I see no real advantage on the Magic anyway, I can fastboot recoveries and the Vodafone-branded bootscreen does not bother me enough to risk bricking my phone.
At least with stock SPL I can always recover no matter how badly I stuff up the OS.
ok so over all it is possible to flash a 32a radio to a 32b and use 32a sense roms or is there an spl needed as well?
I have a vodafone 32b which i wanted to root and give another rom. I had a perfected spl and used the method to root it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218. After succesfully flashing sapphire.img i am stuck on a 32a radio and 1.33.2010 spl. Fastboot isn't working for me so i cant use the method to revert to 32b radio and rom. I have a working goldcard so maybe if someone has a sapphire.img with 32b radio i can convert back. I don't know what to do.

some special build from this website http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_MT3G/Magic_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod. It allows you to install a 1.5 rom with a bug on a perfected magic.

I recently rooted my T-Mobile MT3g w/audio jack (I found this particular device very confusing). Installed CM 6.1 on it w/ ezBiffTestKernel20101024-ebi0_S.zip to avoid green tinting.
It's too bad I still have an old radio on the phone (upgraded from 1.6)
so my biggest concern is choosing right radio / SPL
I guess 2825 or 2708 (G) is the right choice, but what about SPL? I'd prefer engineered for future tweaks
My parameters are:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON G (well I guess its not real 32A since its not Fender or Magic)
HBOOT-1.33.0013
RADIO-2.22.23.02
Any suggestion for radio / SPL versions will be highly appreciated!
I can even do some donations for the project, just tell me how and where.

so,1st i want to apologize if the answers im seeking were already posted but ive been searching the forum for some time an i could not find exactly what i needed..
here it goes:
i have an htc my touch 3g (t-mobile europe i guess) it came with froyo 2.2.1 but i wanted to instal cumstom roms so after extensive research ive manage to root it..donwgrade to 1.5 ,upgrade to 1.6 with hboot - 1.33.0013d and radio - 2.22.27.08 (sapphire pvt 32B ship s-on G)
now i kinda figured that i cand flash a 2.2 rom on a 1.6 or at least i think i cant..
I managed to get a few 1.6 roms to work(the most stable is dwangs s&s 1.11 stock rom) a few other worked but not that good..
my problem is: what do i need to get back to (at least)2.2
if posible please tell me what exactly i need to use to make it work..what radio/hboot..
sorry again if i was a true noob on my 1st post )
What SPL-info do you have now? And what ROM do you want: custom or official?
i want to use the cyanogenmod 6 or froyo yoshi / ginger yoshi

If you have custom recovery (AmonRa 1.7.0 G or ClockworkMod Recovery), then you just need flash gingeryoshi via it, cause your Info already matches with requirements. Wipe data/factory reset before process...
p.s. Custom ROMs contain only system and boot images. It is safe to change custom ROM. Even if you will flash incompatible custom Rom, your phone will not load, but recovery, hboot and radio will remain and you able to flash any other custom ROM.
In very rare cases devs include radio or recovery image in custom ROM, but it is exception. True devs don't do that.
i have RA 1.2.0G if i remember corectly i could not flash the 1.7.0..so why cant i flash the roms with 1.2.0?
just rememberd i tried to flash some time ago cm 6/fy/gy a couple of times and every time i got bootloop..could be because i have ra1.2.0G instead of 1.7.0G ?
