The phone has only been out for 3 days. I doubt that's enough time to notice any burn in.

NS4G already on clearance...

Went to Best Buy today and saw the new phone price cards stacked up on the counter. The NS4G price was $49.99 and marked as clearance. I was surprised to see it go to clearance so quickly.
Yea, I noticed the price online the other day. I want my 100 dollars back lol

Hey. I paid $199 for mine!
No but those prices are for new subscribers. If you try to use it on upgrade its $150

I was new lol. Still payed 149. Oh well. Worth it to me. I get frustrated with the reception but the reality is I love it.

Yeah. I don't have reception issues but no 4g where I'm at. But I love the phone so I don't mind paying premium price. There is just something about this all black finish and the screen. Can't tell where the screen ends and phone body begins. I love it

saw that too, just bought em at a sprint store on the 18th. Did get 175 per phone in service credits for porting numbers (125 plus extra 50 from rep, plus no activation fee) so prolly came out about the same. oh well.

I'm currently on my second NS... on the 1st one, my Wifi stopped working, as did PRL updates and Profile updates.
Now this one has what appears to be screen burn in...
ugh.
What is screen burn in and what does it look like?

There is part of the screen that is always a very dark grey, it is a circle. It is hard to notice, but when you notice it, it is very annoying.
It is kind of like having an image burned in on a plasma screen... except on this device.
I see. Thanks for explanation

Amoled screens don't get burned in. The LCD technology just doesn't function this way. It's just probably going bad in that spot. Samsung has 1 year warranty on your phone so if you can't get the carrier to replace it claim your warranty.

Sparkling back

I have a mid night blue coloured note and just the other day I realised that the back of the phone sparkles under sun. Its not a lot but its still annoying. It makes note look less of a premium device.

Order a white back cover and use it instead, it doesn't sparkle...
Or get a flip cover, also doesn't sparkle.

Be grateful that Samsung are not charging a higher price for a sparkling back or a white phone like Apple.

Screen defect?

I just got galaxy s3 for t-mobile today and I just noticed like black streaks or dots on the screen when viewing a pure black background in a dark room with brightness on mid/low
Does anyone else have the same issue?
Thanks.

I've read some stuff saying these black spots occur in all amoled displays. Apparently its one of the drawbacks of this tech.

I have this too, once virgin mobile gets more in stock they're swapping it for a new one, hopefully its better!
I don't think I have any. I turned my brightness all the way up and put a black background on my phone and I don't see any. Is this rare for new phones and something that happens over time of using the device?

I got a huge one right where the camera is. It's only noticeable when in dark room black screen. It's about one cm. Called store said I'd have to wait to get it replaced cause they're out of them. Hopefully I get one with no or at least tiny ones :banghead:

I have like three our four of them around 1mm in diameter, but like everybody said I only notice it at night or in a dark room with a black background. it's nothing that really bothers me because it's not just any black background but a specific one. I don't know what it is but I dont think it's much of an issue unless you're a perfectionist or have OCD. The only thing I care about is not having dead pixels. I had the vibrant before this for two years and the screen has no dead pixels or burning so I think Samsung can be trusted when it comes to the lifespan of the screens.

Yeah man, guess I have had some bad ones. I had an Evo that was plagued by a couple issues, one being a dead pixel. It seemed to develop another rather quickly. Thankfully the last phone with any issues. My first N7 had one, found during a screen test. Replacement is perfect. (replaced due to screen lift) Good luck.

A single dead pixel popped up over night.. right in the middle of the screen. That's really annoying..
It's black.. so it's visible in most apps. But is that enough to order a replacement?
Besides that, my N7 is flawless. Damn that's unfortunate.

Buying a N4 from craigslist

I think I found an old guy who does not want his N4. Can I pull my att sim card from straight talk and put it in the n4?
What other things should I look for before I make the purchase from someone who has had experience with this device? I am coming from the note 1.
Thank you for any help!

You may need to create the APN, but the phone is Sim unlocked.
Look for scratches, cracks, touchscreen unresponsiveness, earpiece crackle (some is OK. Just make sure it isn't unbearable), dead pixels and yellow spots on the screen.

Lol I was not trying to offend anyone.
I was stereotyping him because he said his wife had to order the phone online for him and that kind of phone wasn't for him. I am guessing it might of been his first smart phone. He is selling a 16 gig for 300 bucks and he used it one day.
He wanted the money to get a iphone:banghead:

It's an unevenness in the way the backlight lights up the screen. You'll see brighter spots around the edges. Some say it's the type of screen. It's not something I've ever looked for or noticed. It doesn't bother a lot of people, but perfectionists let it get to them.

When you get to him. Ask him if you can call Google and get the warranty transferred over to you. At the same time ask google if it has been blacklisted. If he does not agree, don't buy it.
