it's deffy and i have flashed http://rootzwiki.com/topic/22320-romunofficialiml74k-403-aokp-build28-for-motorola-defy/

Red lense...? Green lense...? How did you flash it? What kernel...? Do you have access to the bootmenu... If not, do you have access to stock recovery...? Come on, dude... Be more specific, don't make us guess.

sorry
it's green lense, i flash it over custom recovery. I really don't know which kernel there is, i didn´t flash any new kernel, so i guess there is stock kernel. I can't get to the bootmenu, but i have acces to stock recovery.
EDIT: I realized, that there was flashed MIUI rom downloaded from official site (before trying update to ICS). I don't know which kernel this rom uses, so maybe there was gingerbread kernel. Before root and everithing, official Motorola's rom was froyo.
EDIT2:
I think that problem is here:
Nandroid Backup
This is just a .zip file flasheable with a Custom Recovery, this will Delete/Copy all the files in the /System and other partitions (depending on the Nandroid) without formatting or remaking the partition thus not modifying the system layout, eFuse or stuff; this is almost harmless, meaning you CANT brick your phone doing it, though you can make Android not boot and a new SBF or Nandroid would need to be installed.

question is how and which SBF should i install

As far as I saw, this is a Froyo based build, so you should be fine with the Froyo kernel you have from your stock ROM...
Go to custom recovery and wipe data/cache. If you are still unable to boot afterwards, you might need to flash a fixed or a full sbf.

Hahaha never flash someone else's phone, especially parents!! Because when this happens you are SCREWED
Above info is indeed correct, I have bricked mine to a similar state by using a badly coded app, I just flashed a full froyo 2.2.2 sbf as my custom recovery was broken, reinstalled recovery with the 2ndinit app and restored my backup, never had a problem since
Sent from the real world by hacking into the matrix

could you recomend me wich fixed SBF should i flash? and am i right, that i should use RSD lite to do it?
i know, these are really stupid question, but i am not 100% sure what to do and i can make things right ...
the best will be, if you write step by step what exactly is needed
thank you very much

Original Recovery

I'm trying to restore my htc tattoo to original state (for warranty return), currently its running Cyanogenmod with clockwork recovery. I restored original Android 1.6 from backup I made, but I'm having trouble finding information how to restore original recovery. I suppose the procedure is similar as to installing clockwork (I'm currently using clockwork) but with original recovery image instead of clockwork. I'm not sure where can I find original HTC Tattoo Recovery image?

Ok sorry for posting in wrong forum. I Flashed the supplied recovery image but now the only thing I get when trying to boot into recovery is the warning sign with yellow exclamation point and the phone lying next to it. Are all original recovery images the same? Maybe they vary like ROMs do.
Edit:
After some googling around it turns out that exclamation mark is actually the original recovery, sorry for false alarm and thanks. I'm still worried a bit about versions of recovery, can someone figureout that is not the recovery rom that was shipped with my HTC Tattoo? Thank you.

Going back to stock from CM7

Guys i need your help
History:
1. bought the phone with froyo (phone is atrix 4g att)
2. updated over-the-air to gingerbread
3. rooted
4. installed clockworkmod
5. unlocked bootloader
6. backed up stock rom
6. installed cyanogenmod 7 beta with android recovery (update.zip)
Now I want to get back to gingerbread 2.3.4, so can i just restore it via clockworkmod restore or there is some other way?
And if i just restore my backup, is it safe for future OTA updates?
PS: i did spend my time searching and reading xda forums but i am not sure what to do because english is my 2nd language and i don't understand everything, i love my atrix and don't wan't to brick it
Thanks

[Q] RSD does not detect my defy!

Hi guys, I installed CM10 on my phone, with defy+ ginger kernel, but now I want to install another ROM (MS2Ginger) and to install it I need to flash a SBF.
But RSD doesn't recognize my phone anymore, I already used RSD some time ago, but now it stop working!
I already tried with the phone on bootloader, debug on/off, RSD opened as admin and some other ways, but RSD don´t detect my phone!
Does anyone have more tips?
why do you need to flash sbf for another rom? isnt it a cwm zip just like cm?
aboit rsd lite, which version are you using? 5.3 worked fine for me so far. maybe you should try a different usb port...
sent from my cm7 defy...
The rom install guide says that I should flash a froyo SBF before install it...
1.Install Froyo or Gingerbread Motorola rom (Froyo for defy and a rootable Gingerbread for Defy+)

I'm afraid of install without flash a SBF and have problems cause of Defy+ kernel that is on phone (my defy is the bayer).

If you really want to flash full sbf, you have to flash proper BL version, depending what you had on your phone before flashing custom ROMs. What do you mean you have defy+ kernel? The phone was flashed with full gb sbf?
Anyway as zakoo2 said, it should be enough to flash from CWM, starting with wiping data (the tutorial was prepared mainly for those who flashed custom ROM for the first time). Depending on whether you had froyo or GB as a parent system, you shall flash proper version and eventually proper fixes.
RSD shall see your phone when in bootloader mode, then debugging on or off doesn't matter. Try another USB port, uninstall and install moto drivers, should work
reinstall moto drivers....should work then...

And you connect your defy in bootloader mode? I mean pressing vol up when power on?
The only case I can imagine now is not proper USB cable, or starting RSD not in an administrator mode.
And the kernel you have flashed shall be overwritten while flashing BL5 kernel during MS2G installation
I installed Ms2Ginger without flash Froyo! Worked well! Thaks guys! Solved!

[Q] defy not charging and cam not working after flash to 2.3.6 from service center

my defy is not working properly after flash from service center.service center guy flashes mobile and its now showing MB526 model .and camera and charging not work, phone restart many times in a day .i was using JB 4.1.1 before flashing the device it works very fine for me but now its not working pls guide me ...:crying:
I think you'll need to birng it back to service center, because it's Service Center problem that they flashed it with non-downgratible defy+ sbf.... And also is that service center official from Moto?
It's could be because you bring them your defy with cm10 jb, which it's About Phone showing mb526. This lead to their misunderstanding and flash mb526 stock on your mb525...
You have defy green lens, with mb526 kernel it won't work. Your battery too is differ from mb526.
It's not their fault now, let's talk about how to fix it.

You're on the right track, from that yellow sign press both volume up and down in the same time.
If you press it right you'll get into "stock recovery", use it to wipe data&cache and you will get a working rooted bl7 rom.
Now get any custom roms you want!

Sure, advanced option are in "CWM recovery", not in stock one.
What next? Did your phone booted normally now?
If not, did both of your flashing finished with "finish/pass" and not "please manually power up your phone"?

Just go back to my first reply and read the second link "quarx's cm10 FAQs" about how to install both custom recovery and cm10 rom.

Check what gapps you have installed, you may mistakenly install cm10.1 gapps instread
If so wipe all in custom recovery (press volume down when blue led on to get into your installed bootmenu> custom recovery)
and install your cm10 rom again, this time use this gapps http://d-h.st/lxT
And don't forget batteryFix patch too, ok?

[Q] Recovery, CM11, Kernel installation?

Hi. I have been recenty using CM10 on my Defy and I wanted to change it. As I installed my CM with 2ndinit recovery it automatically changed to TeamWinRecoveryProject. So lately I was trying to flash this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515036
But as you can see, there is this line:
For CM10,10.1,10.2 < 07.11.13 users:
To install KitKat, need update recovery. Do not forget reboot, after install recovery.
http://defy.bytekiste.de/cm11-nightl...e-recovery.zip

I don't actually know, how to install new recovery I tried to flash it with TWRP, but after reboot I wasn't able to open it at all I tried to use ROM manager and other apps like this, but nothing worked. And I don't know why, but after a couple of reboots, my system crashed somehow: as the CM logo showed up while booting it just didn't move farther and kept like that. So I used RSD Lite and flashed SBF file just as it was described in this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828639
OK, so now I want to install new recovery and ROM. Can anyone tell me, how to install recovery which is needed for QUARX's CM11?
And also: I don't know much about this, because I'm a newbie, but I heard that it's recommandable to change Kernel too. I heard that it would speed up my phone etc. Is it true? How can I do it? Which Kernel should I use? I didn't change anything while rooting my phone and/or installing CM10.
Just because you're a newbie, it doesn't mean you can't read through before asking questions. Read this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568325. No kernel change required.
