I get unlimited mind/texts and 10 Gb of web a month for $130.00.Is that good or bad?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA

If forget to add does anyone know of any other service providers where I could get a better deal?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA

There are some good prepaid deals. Do you even use that much data? The nice part about T-Mobile is they just knock you to edge.
Sent from my XT883 using XDA

Yeah! I use 5 plus gbs a month.are there any others carriers that I could use my sensation on.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA

Not really without paying a lot. Cricket would be the only one but that is CDMA.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA

well if u dont use many mins. like me. the 30 buck a month t-mobile plan would work.. 100 mins. unlimited text and 5 gigs of 4g data a month.. <---- works for me. i dont call anyone anymore. only text. cept my mother who refuses to text lmao
or straight talk.. 45 bucks a month for unlimited min/text plus unlimited data lol that some say is capped etc.. 2 gigs a month etc..

Yes I have went over my 5 Gigs of data the last 3 months.and let me tell you edge is so,so slow...

You could switch to pre-paid tmobile... for $70 a month you will get Unlimited mins/text/data (5gb at 4g speeds)

That's a great price.I'm moving in 3 months and then I'm getting WiFi but thank you for that information.

Plan question

My wife and I are currently paying around $150 a month to have unlimited talk text and web. We've discovered that we don't talk too much and most of our web browsing is done connected to wifi. Does it cost anything to lower your minute plan? Would we have to pay the cancel contract fee to change our plan?

They will let you change your plan with tmo but you will have to extend your contract. This is why I am not going to extend with tmo again. I've found a new service provider called ting that is going to save me and my wife about 30-40 $ a month.

Ohhhh, yeah, i have seen this before, it said i wouldn't save any money haha. Well and its on Sprint's network which isn't great
I downgraded from that plan and was supposed to be paying 100 but now pay 170! For 1000 shared mins so I'd stay on your plan. And its 45 cents a min to go over

Is net 10,boost cdma or gsm

What networks do these to companies operate on and at what frenquencies?what are has 4G and is it good service.which companies better and what do they charge.how much are there plans.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Does anyone know what net-10 runs on?Is it cdma?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Net 10 piggybacks off of T-mobile and AT&T, so it's GSM.
Boost Mobile piggybacks off of Sprint, so it's CDMA.
Boost Mobile has something called bill shrink, where your monthly bill decreases by $5 after a certain amount of months. The most you can get off is $15 off the bill. Basically Boost has sprint coverage and sprint network speeds.
Net 10 doesn't have 4G or very good web services, only talk and text.
So don't boost offer a $50 a month unlimited everything? If so how many Gigs of web do they give you?and boost is pre-paid service correct?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
They do offer $55 unlimited everything with a soft cap of 2.5 GB on the data. And yes it's prepaid.
Check here: http://www.boostmobile.com/shop/plans/monthly-unlimited/android/
Thanks for that information.I appreciate it. Takecare!!!

Do could I put my T-Mobile sim card in a net-10 phone and get 3,4G service?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
That phone needs to be unlocked and has to be a smartphone.
In your own opinion does net-10 data suck compared to mobile's?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G
I'm not too familiar with Net 10 data plan, but it does not seem to offer unlimited data plans. Instead, Net 10 charges you 1 minute of talk time for each minute that you are online. That's not a very good deal, if you want to use a fair amount of data.
look here: http://www.net10.com/data_svs/price_chart.jsp
Otherwise, go to Boost Mobile which has an "unlimited" data plan.

Get unlimited at&t data on my T-Mobile sensation

I unlocked my T-Mobile sensation 4G and I purchased a at&t 4G sim card.Is it possible to get unlimited data along with minutes and texts on at&ts $50.00 a month plan?would I get 4G service or edge?I was told if I was to change my phones radio bands that I could get 3G service. If anyone knows the answers to my qwestions would you please respond back.I would appreciate it.

The HTC Sensation 4G does not support AT&T's 850MHz/1900MHz Band in 3G, so you will run at edge speeds (I know this because I just unlocked my friends Sensation 4G to be used on AT&T) As far as unlimited data goes they say unlimited but if they see spikes in your usage wither your on a Plan or Go Phone they will now convert you to a Smartphone Data Package Automatically.
Your best bet depending on who has the best reception where you are at is to either get a Straight Talk Sim Card for T-Mobile, Which your 3G Will work or a Straight Talk Sim card for AT&T which your 2G Speeds will only work
Why don't you get the $60 T-Mobile unlimited plan?
I like Straight Talk, though I'm a little wary of the data limit.
You could also try Simple Mobile $60 plan for unlimited talk, text, and 4g data

Both $60 plans are the same. Except T-Mobile publishes the throttle point. Both companies throttle at 2GB's on those plans.

Family talk on T-Mobile s2

I have a galaxy s2 on T-Mobile, I'm looking for a better plan, I need at least 5GB of data. Right now I have the $30 100min and 5GB data plan, I don't want to spend $70 a month for more minutes and 5GB of data, but I do need more minutes as well as the data I have. Is there a simple mobile, or family talk plan that would work fully?

Didn't Tmobile just release some unlimited data plan?
Yeah on September 5th, but I'm on prepaid.

I don't want to start a new thread for this, but the strangest thing happened. I flashed the Jedi mind trick Rom, when I tried I got a T-Mobile free text saying I owe $250... I'm on prepaid and only pay $30... anyone have any idea?

I just found out that my phone is unlocked, I dialed *#simlock#and all said off. So does this open up more options for me? I'd like to keep 4g working
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Well you're on prepaid so don't worry about that message....can't charge you because you paid before....
Simplemobile apparently limits to approximately 2gb give or take a few. Their 3g plan actually gives you "4g". I don't see how they can actually adjust it to limit it to 3g speed only because 4g it's actually 3.5g..
So stick to the $40 plan.
You can also go straight talk. but i forget what the data limit is for that. Look it up.

Good info, just need to get some more info, maybe anyone that has tried it? I thought the old T-Mobile 4g phones where just like 3.5 and hspa+ was 4g?

The 40$ plan has terrible data speeds and sucks if you're using a smartphone. I would NOT recommend it.
ST throttles after (about) 2GB a month or 100MB a day. (technically the AT&T BYOD SIMs seem to be stricter about this than the T-Mobile ones)

Best (cheapest) prepaid GSM plan?

Hello-
I am trying to figure out what is the cheapest GSM prepaid plan in the United States. So far, the cheapest I have found is either AT&T's $25 unlimited talk and text plus $5 for 50 MB data or T-mobile's $30 Monthly4g unimited talk text, adn 5gb data. What plan are you guys using to get the most amount of data for the least amount of money? I don't mind going with an MVNO because they have pretty good coverage in my area. (Albuquerque, NM)
Thanks,
wws12
Anyone?
Theoretically speaking, if your main concern is data then you should probably choose an unlimited data plan to get the most out of your money. (Assuming you use that much data).
I can give some good suggestions if you could tell me your average calling, texting, and data usage. Also if you must have GSM, most prepaid just happen to be CDMA *shrugs*

It doesn't have to be GSM, but in my investigations those plans were the cheapest. I mainly want to use it for VoIP with GrooveIP for calls and GVoice for texting. Thnaks for your help!
Let's see... Virgin Mobile has unlimited data and texting, 100 minutes calling for $35 a month. The T mobile plan you found is cheaper but 5GB of data. This depends on if you are going to use more than 5GB or not...

I want to use a phone such as the Motorola Defy as prepaid. I was going to get the Droid X but found that it couldn't be flashed to other carriers than Verizon.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Are you sure you want the Motorola Defy... ? Republic Wireless has the Defy XT as their only available phone, but they have a different business model.
$20 a month unlimited everything, but depends on WiFi. However nothing is stopping you from sticking to their 3G (Sprint) full time. Big problem is that they are in beta and if you sign up now it could be months until you get the phone. (I'm sure once you are up and running it rocks, but the limited phone choice and waiting time is way too long).
Do you want a rugged phone or a Motorola phone or what? Why do you choose the Defy?
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
I chose the Defy because it had a stable ICS ROM and for the fact that it was GSM which I had thought was the best deal at the time. Thanks for the information about Republic Wireless
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
So you have decided to go with Republic?
I was mainly wondering about why you wanted the Defy because it has pretty old hardware. If you still want to consider Virgin and want ICS they have the HTC EVO V, HTC One V, and soon to be released Samsung Galaxy Reverb.
(That t mobile plan you found is actually very good, 5GB is plenty of data. Virgin just has a better plan if you use more than that, which is quite rare in fact)
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
I want GSM because that will allow me to easily switch carriers at a later date if I need to. Are there any better phones than the Defy that are $150 or less on Amazon? Thanks for all your help, BTW!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
No problem glad to help
I understand that, in that case that t mobile prepaid plan definitely seems to be a good deal.
As for a phone, I don't go on Amazon since prices are usually higher, but I do know on eBay you can get a galaxy s (for 4g you need the Samsung galaxy s 4g but it has less dev support than the Samsung vibrant which only has 3g) for $150 or less. Any galaxy s variant blows the defy out of the water for sure
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
I usually don't shop eBay because of the possibility of scammers. I'll look at the galaxy s variants though. Which would you say has the best dev support? I need at least a stable ICS, if not JB. Thanks!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
All galaxy s were very popular and all have great dev support. Since you were looking at the defy I'm going to assume 4g isn't big on your requirements list and in that case the Samsung vibrant is the phone for you!
Most popular galaxy s from my general knowledge is the cappy aka Samsung Captivate. Unfortunately since it is at&t 3g it will only work on t-mobile 2g (ugh!)
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
How much is the Vibrant online?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
On amazon it appears to be $200+
On eBay they go as low as $120 and the Captivate gets even cheaper like $110.
What I like to think of eBay is the whole virus thing on Android. More scams/viruses happen on ebay/Android, but that is because there are more sellers/is more open. You just have to be smart and look at feedback/permissions. Does that seller/app have low feedback score/want to manage your sms and calls? Then don't trust him,her/it
Sent from my DROID2 using xda premium
OK thanks. Quick question that maybe you can answer. On at&t, their prepaid go phone plans include a 100 minute/unlimited text plan for $25/mo. For smartphones you need a data plan which they have in various denominations, but the one I'm interested in is the $5 for 50MB one. If I don't renew the $25 plan, will I lose the data also? Or will it still continue? Thanks!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
They require you to be using the $25 or $50 plan in addition to data every month.
They actually used to have a rule of having $25 in your account every 90 days with whatever data plan you feel like tacking on, but since April 2012 they require to have a monthly text / call plan.
