I first want to say thank you to xda-developers for such a great site. I have been on here reading for 2 weeks now and decided I finally need help. I recently bought me an HTC HD2 Euro version (all white home keys). I proceeded to set it up to dual boot Windows 7.5 and ICS. I was successful thanks to everything I read here and watched on "Youtube".
Well, I was partially successful that is. I have had 4 different WP7 roms and one ICS/sd rom.
All the WP7 roms installed with no hitches as did the ICS and all opened up successfully.
Here is where I need some help with all 4 WP7 roms I get no T-mobile data and no mms messages. I really need my data to work. I get everything except "mms" to work with wifi; IE, xbox live, and the market.
I currently have WP7 rom "HD2O_2.02_8779" installed.
Phone Info:
Name: HTC HD7 T9292
Model: HTC HD7 T9292
Software: Windows*Phone 7.5
Total Storage: 7.20 GB
Available storage: 6.88
OS version: 7.10.8779.8
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.07491.HD2O
Hardware revision number: 0002
Radio software version number:5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.0
Bootloader version: 0.96.2250.0
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
When I setup "CustomRUU" to check the radio version and maybe flash a different radio, no current radio shows up. So my first question is,
Is it possible to not have a radio installed at all?
And if this is true is that why I can't get my data to work?
I have reset my phone.
I have turned my data off and on.
I have used "Connection Setup" at least 3 times on just this rom.
I have used wifi.
I currently do not have an ICS rom on my data card because I want to wait until I get WP7 working properly first. I already fried one 16GB class 10 sd card that is why I am using an 8GB sd card now. So if anyone can help answer my questions I would so grateful. Thanks in advance.

Did you download connection setup from the market or using the preloaded one?
Did you try manual selection in connection setup?
Do you have data connection on in settings?
Try manually selecting Network in.settngs.
Soft Radio for TMOUS is 5.51T.09.29a.22.32.50.10U...that is what I have on my phone running BTTF. The 5.51T is for the U.S. You didn't specify what region you reside so I'm assuming U.S. based on your English or maybe British.
Hardware radio is A.12.0.D4 which is 2.15.xx.xx version in my signature.
Anyway, you should see a hardware radio version. Otherwise, you should flash the appropriate hardware radio.
There are threads telling how to rescue locked sd cards.
still no data, no radio showing up
1. I used the preloaded connection setup.
2. Yes, I did the manual selection.
3. Yes, as I stated I have turned data on and off trying to get it to work.
4. Yes, I manually selected T-mobile in "Cellular"
Well I want to make sure I choose the correct radio for an HTC HD2, the europe model not the T-mobile model with red and green buttons. Mine has white buttons.
I also have the radio set to -region: North America.
and yes I am in the US in Florida using T-mobile as my service provider

I suggest you post your question in HD2O's rom thread and specify which country you're located and the fact you are using the European model. People using the rom should be able to give more help.
still no data, no radio showing up in CustumRUU.exe
Well I would put this in the phone development section but it says all questions belong here in the Q&A section, so i don't want to ruffle feathers and get flamed for not following the rules so I'll just leave it here for now. Maybe a mod could move it if he thinks it belongs there. I am going to wait until morning to continue working on this problem, I'm too tired to anything now. Don't want to make a sleepy mistake and brick my phone. Thanks.

well your question is specific to a rom and people post questions in development all the time...esp specifically related to a particular rom.
no radio showing up, low sound
Well I finally made it back a couple hours ago and I have been reading ever since. I tried to post this in the rom section but because I don't have 10 posts I can't and no one else has responded.
Since I left early in the morning (about 3am) I tried my phone and found I have almost no sound coming from it. It could be the radio but I also have read many of these roms have sound volume problems and they have a fix for it. I think I am going to try flashing a radio and see what happens. What ever I do I will post back here.
I just installed 2 different radios and nothing shows up in the settings phone radio section. It still has 0.0.0.0 for a radio. Think I'm going to install a different rom and see what happens.

data works with ICS on sd card
I decided to go ahead and install an ICS rom on an sd card and see if I get data and mms messages with it. I decided to use "NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA-SD_v2.3" and within a few minutes it was up and running. To my happiness all my data works including mms messages. In fact I did not find anything that did not work, even live wallpapers and this is on an sd card. Another great job by the members here at xda-developers.
Back to facory Windows Mobile 6.5 rom
Still trying to get this phone to work with Windows Phone 7. I tried going the task 29 route and then installing Windows 7 rom but that did not help to get any data on my phone from T-mobile in the USA so I went and studied how to take it all the way back to a stock Windows Mobile 6.5 rom and was successful. I have data on the phone but I can't get mms messages to work on it, but that is still better than what I have been able to do with WP7.
I got the rom right from HTC.com "RUU_Leo_S_TMO_HR_3.14.119.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship". Notice that it has the same radio 2.15.50.14 as what most people recommend to use with WM7 roms. I used this Video on youtube for directions
"How to Turn your HTC HD2 back to Factory"
I have not given up on this and will continue tomorrow.

HTC HD2 Leo stock 6.5 rom, not HTC Hd2 Tmous
First I want to thank for being the only one responding to my thread and posts as I have posted in another thread too. I am sincere when I say that. I really liked what you said in the thread you sent me to, that you would explain how to do something unlike others here. That means a lot to people who are asking for help.
I think there are too many people in forums who forget what it feels like to be a noob at anything. I am a member at many forums going way back to modding Motorola Razors, flashing Dishnet boxes before they locked us out, fixing red ring of death Xboxes and so on. So sir, I really do appreciate those who are here to help not just flame those asking for help.
Now back to the topic. I used that rom from HTC.com/europe because I have an HTC HD2 euro version not the HTC Tmous phone. Mine has the all white buttons and I wasn't sure if I could flash the T-mobile Windows Mobile 6.5 stock rom. As this phone is only 3-4 weeks old I am trying hard not to brick it. That is why I have spent 12 hrs a day for the past 3-4 days doing nothing but reading this site.
here is the link to the stock Window Mobile 6.5 rom for the Europe version.
http://www.htc.com/europe/help/htc-hd2/#download
If you know whether I can use the T-mobile stock rom in my HTC HD2 Leo then maybe I will try it. I am also going to try the unbranded stock rom from the same link as they have one for both T-mobile and not T-mobile if that makes sense to you. Trying not to be confusing.
if you read that radio thread, they say it can be used on the European hd2. and yes, i know you have the european hd2.
finally got mms messages with stock WM 6.5
For my latest trial I downloaded and installed the WWE (World Wide English) stock Windows Mobile 6.5 rom that HTC.com/europe has. Here is the name of the second rom.
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
Here is the name of the 1st stock rom that I tried and mms messages never worked. The first set of numbers are different. Not sure what they stand for.
RUU_Leo_S_TMO_HR_3.14.119.1_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
Here is the link if anyone needs it.
http://www.htc.com/europe/help/htc-hd2/#download
This is the first rom I have installed that gives me data and mms messages. So now I know that this hardware radio works with t-mobile USA network (in Miami). I just need to find the correct software radio for Windows Phone 7 and I will be as happy as can be. I might even try T-mobiles stock rom today also.
still testing with mixed results.
I am back on Windows 7.5 now using pdaimatejam rom. I replaced his original software radio with 5.51t.09.29a_22.32.50.10u and also with 5.51.09.11a_22.31.40.09u. I got excited because these both gave me data but after a few minutes my data quit working. Neither allowed me to send or receive mms messages. I am still testing and will give any updates or results I come up with. What is odd is I am using the same Hardware radio 2.15.50.14 that is in the stock Windows Mobile 6.5 rom that let me have data and mms messages.
Just a quick update, I tried the Back to the Future [XBmod-Yuki][Updatable] rom and did not have any better luck. Still same 0.0.0.0 radio and no data or mms. I did have some fun installing the rom. Learned a lot about installing cabs and such. I usually get an error when I install the HTC connection app but not with this rom. I don't think the app is helping do anything from what I can tell. Going to try adifferent rom tomorrow to see if I have any better luck.
tried another rom, same results
I flashed this rom yesterday.
RUU_LEO_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.01_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U_NT_Tango_8773_3La_V3_by_ansar
I still get the 0.0.0.0 radio and no data or mms. I also flashed a couple different hardware radios after I installed the rom, but still got the same results. I think I am going to change the software radio in the rom and then flash it again and see if it makes a difference.

Sorry if this is a really n00b question but I figured this would be the best place to ask it.
I live in Australia have recently purchased an HTC HD2.
It is the GSM version (non Telstra) and I am using an Optus 3G GSM SIM.
The current ROM version is 1.48.831.0 (71294) WWE The current Radio Version is 2.05.51.05_2
I want to know if it is safe to install a more up to date ROM on the phone as when I browse the australian website, the only ROM update available is for the telstra version of the phone and when I enter my serial number I am told that my phone is not supported.
I am able to use a different serial number to download a more up to date ROM from one of HTC's international sites but I am scared I will brick the phone or make it not work with my Optus SIM anymore if I install it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi
You can absolutely flash the device with any stock or cooked ROM.
If you prefer to go for a stock ROM, the latest one is WWE 1.66.405.2.
You can download ROMs here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Leo/ROMs
If you go for a cooked ROM then obviously look for the developers page and read up on the ins and outs of his/her ROM.
If this is your first flash, I would recommend having a read of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
You are also welcome to pop over the Whirlpool forum where you will find several people who have flashed their devices with new ROMs (stock and cooked).
The thread is long and there are several preceding thread; however, read the last few pages and jump on in. There are plenty of folk there happy to offer advice and support from our sunny shores.
By the way, I flashed the non-Telstra device from WWE 1.48 to 1.66 without a problem.
Perfect! Thankyou for the reply!!!
OK so I just finished reading through all the info on flashing and am feeling much more confident now.
Just one more question, what radio version did you install to go with the 1.66 ROM? or didn't you need to upgrade it, if so what version are you running?
EDIT: Depending on what image you use, it would appear that the radio ROM is flashed with the ROM? correct?
Thanks
EDIT2: I just figured out that I can download the official rom from the Hong Kong HTC site. It accepts my SN so I wont need an additional bootloader to install the rom.
The version is 1.72.831.1
The URL is http://www.htc.com/hk-en/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=906
Successfully flashed 1.72.831.1 last night using the standard bootloader.
Took about 6 minutes and no issues at all. Took about 40 minutes to get everything set back up the way I had it before so not too bad.
Straight out of the box the phone seems far more responsive than it did with 1.48. Faster still with the Glyph cache tweak and VSYNC off.
Radio signal seems better and the WiFi seems to be reliable with automatically connecting to my configured netowrks as I move around.
No negative side effects as of yet!

I'm sorry I didn't get back and respond last night; however, it sounds like everything has run smoothly and been a success.
Excellent news!
I find it so satisfying flashing a new ROM. It's kind of like purging the old and starting afresh with something new that suits your needs.
Have fun!
I got a text message from TMobile today saying there is new software and new feature improvements for my HD2. I clicked on the website they gave me and here is what the pop up window says,:
" A software upgrade is available for HTC HD2 customers at www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade. Please be aware that after you upgrade the phone It is normal for the device to run slowly and the battery to drain at a higher rate for a short period of time. This is caused by applications that might be performing an initial sync, such as, Outlook or a personal e-mail account, or the device updating applications like weather and location. It may take up to four hours to complete all syncing.Important: Please read the steps on How do I perform a device software upgrade before moving forward. The software update is only designed to update the software version from 2.10.531.1 and 2.13.531.1 to 3.14.531.1.
The upgrade process is easy!
Download the new software to your PC. You will be instructed to enter the 15-digit IMEI number for your device to access the download.
Ensure ActiveSync 4.5 for computers using Windows XP or earlier or use Windows Mobile Device Center for computers using Vista and Windows 7 is installed on your PC. If you have not installed ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, you can install it from your Getting Started CD or download it from the Microsoft website.
Connect your HTC HD2 MR to your computer using the USB Sync Cable that came with the phone.
Establish a connection. You will know this is complete when the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center icon in your PC taskbar is lit green and the status is "Connected".
Ensure that your T-Mobile HTC HD2 MR has a battery charge that is greater than 50% (two bars).
Remove your MicroSD card from the device if you have one inserted. Do not reinsert the SD card until after the software installation process is complete and the phone is ready to use.
Run the software update program you downloaded to your PC and follow the on-screen commands.
Below is the list of available downloads. Please select the download of your choice.
T-Mobile HD2 MR Software Updates

I'm not sure if the chefs plan on upgrading our roms or what but it's nice to know the HD2 got some love with WP7 on the extremely near horizon.

Date Updated: 9/23/10
Size: 209 MB
Still think its new?
Yeah, I did it but I don't know what's wrong: when I looked for the Software information, and checked the OS version, it's now like this: OS version: 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94). Is it Windows Mobile current version? Did ROM upgrade downgrade Windows version?
I know it might seem stupid, but I am really concerned...
Thanks in advance for help!
No, 21913 is one of the latest we've seen of COM2 line. If you had cooked one before then you had some bigger number probably, due to different branch...
What about Abroad Tmob devices ??

The file is too large to post here. Check the development Forums for links to the stock ROMs. But it is really easiest and safest to go to HTC, enter your IMEI, and get the right ROM from them.
I bought HD2 which was flashed Android first, now I get the new 23.Langs_HD2_Pdaimatejam_Rom_Wp7.5_mango_7.10.8107.79_v6 for my HD2, after I fill the APN and using the connetion setup, I still can't use the EDGE or 3G network, however the Wifi or USB mode works fine. Then I changed any 7740 and 8107 rom from Pdaimatejam, the problem is still there, as I can see Radio Hardware 0.0.0.0, I'll be appreciated if anyone could help me on the problem.
My HD2 is producted in 8 April 2011 for sale in Porland.
Thanks for any help.
Use the HTC connection Setup and this will installed the proper APN, if you doesn't know it.

Hi, aarmath, my HD2 is htc version which is 512M rom, but has "Security unlocked" on the top of the 3 color screen, i dont know what does that mean? Is it the problem? I redo the hspl to 2.08, but still the same problem. Radio hardware 0.0.0.0, it make me very sad.

Thanks keller112, your problem is the missing APN, as you have the A.102.0.D4 radio hardware per your attached pic. But we only could see the radio hardware 0.0.0.0 which maybe the problem. I've flashed three different Rom but still not work.
I've no idea about this problem now, anyone could help?
I have been having the same problem as well... I've tried reflashing 3 times through the entire process that was shown on the youtube video.
And has anyone also been having a problem where different apps wont open at all? I tried reseting and it worked for a bit but it seems if I change anything in the "advanced config" next time my phone boots up everything gets messed up and the theme is erased. SO FRUSTRATING hahaha
Aah, so yours is also a T-Mobile HD2. That means we will have to bank on Ansar's software radio driver that he has created for T-Mobile HD2s. Here's the link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111613
But let me caution you - I have not tried it because I simply don't have the courage/stamina to do the whole process of installing the Windows Phone OS on my HD2. I might do it someday ;-)
But not right now....

Guys, sorry about my ignorance............................
Does anyone REALLY knows if HTC Surround with SPL 4.3 and onwards are encrypted in a way you cannot re flash, no matter what ?
Background:
I bought 2 unlocked AT&T Surround from Jacksonville (USA, FL) with 3 months apart from eBay. They both arrived ok and originally had Mango 7 and with Zune both phones were upgraded to 7.5. Within months apart both phones failed. The first one I changed the Micro SD card and all went well.
The second phone failed 4 days ago in a little bit different manner. Used to turn on and of and I had to take the battery out. Then I changed the Micro SD card and lasted 4 hours. Then I changed, again, the SD card and same problem.
I then found this place (XDA developers.com) and read and read and read.
Just before I continue I like to list out what I have:
AT&T Surround fully unlocked. I use TELSTRA in Australia. Works like a charm ( so CID must be ok?).
OS Version 7.10.772068
Firmware Version 2250.21.40300.502
Hardware Revision Number 0003
Radio Software Version 5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21H
Radio Hardware Version A.26.0.D4
Bootloader Version 4.3.2250.0(178976)
CHIP SOC Version 2.2.5.0
So based upon above and what I read and took the stance of downgrading to SPL 1.52 so I could use another ROM.
I used DFT and was successful to downgrade to SPL 1.52.
Since then there is no way to put any ROM of any kind and I suspect that my phone being 4.3; nothing is good.
Finally I had the opportunity to find a ROM quite new (in a Russian site) and managed to flash it. Gave me 100% success.
But the phone starts and beeps 7 times and that is it..........
Besides getting a hammer, what else can I do if anything.............. I have the funny feeling that I have f......... up the phone.
SPL 4.xx or 5xx cannot be made ??????
This is probably a model that was a dud from day number one. I wonder how long the other will hold.
If anyone knows, but really knows, would appreciate an answer. Sorry, I am a bit skeptical...........lots of people write and talk but I cannot make sense.
I need accuracy. Thanks in advanced !
PS: By the way every time I use a ROM update program, no matter which one is it (of the ones I could source) the previous version when running the wizard never appears. This is saying to me that there must be a protection in the EEPROM system. Why I cannot read the previous version and when I successfully flash it comes up and beeps seven times and dies there ?
Hello friends of XDA,
serious problem over here. My Omnia 7 has problems in connecting to my network provider... It currently runs a Dynamics 2.0 ROM and was updated two times over Zune xxx.142 and 7.10.8862.144. My Provider is MedionMobile / Eplus in Germany.
Firmware: 2424.12.4.2
Hardware: 3.15.0.4
Network software: 2424.11.9.1
Network hardware: 0.0.0.800
Bootloader: 4.10.1.9 / MAGLDR
Chip-SOC-Version: 0.36.2.0
Could you please help me? I will flash back to Stock ROM now, but want to get back to a custom ROM ASAP.
What more informations do you need?
Thank you,
MBaumi
Hi,
what is the problem exactly?
Can you make phone calls?
If you only can't connect to the internet, you should check the phone's settings:
Settings -> Cellular -> Data connection: should be on
Settings -> Cellular -> add apn: enter the apn settings manually
(use the settings from your provider: Settings
I hope this helps.
Is the problem since your flashing this rom?

Jep, it is. But it was with 3 different Custom ROMs, so I assume that it is a hardware issue.
When I sent it in for repairing a problem (Keys did´nt work properly), they changed the SoC, but not the "wireless-hardware". I think there is a problem between those two parts. Since then I could not update, even not to a version before 7.8. (805a0194). Then I installed the ROM, had 7.8, but also these network problems. BTW, Wifi is working correctly.
I am currently searching for a Stock 7.5 / 7.8 ROM to unroot the phone and getting back guarantee (btw I let MAGLDR installed, and search for a ROM that looks excactly like a Stock ROM that they do´nt see the difference).
Do you know a Stock ROM for MAGLDR Loader?

I have network connection for something like 10 secs up to a minute, but then i dont have any connection. In those 10 seconds I can call, write an SMS or use Internet, but later on it is not working.
Thank you,
MBaumi
