HELP!!!!!
Yesterday I was foolishly playing around with my MDA Vario and it fell from my hands...onto the hard floor. Now the display is cracked (mind you, NOT the LCD!!!!!Just the glasstop, digitizer, lense or whatever you call it). It still works perfectly but when I press with the stylus over the crack it just freaks out. End of the day: I can use it but I can't play with it. I spent AGES googling for a solution but apparently all I can find is LCD replacements (which actually DO include the screen...but cost 3 times asmuch). Anybody can help? please.........I'm desperate!

What a bummer!
HTC europe and usa are selling parts give them a call and see if any joy
see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=49361
and here http://www.htceurope.com/uk/
Ouch! I'd be kicking myself if that happened to me!
Hope it won't cost too much get it repaired
PS. Doesn't your Olympus C150/D390 have an upclose (or "Flower") mode? You'll be able to get clearer shots if you select it.
Got it repaired!!!!!!!For "only" 70 pounds... I went to a shop in South Wimbledon and they made it on the spot for me. As a matter of fact they changed my LCD too (they tried to put just the display but apparently there was a "ribbon color" problem). Nevertheless, I got my UNbroken LCD back as well, so now I'll try to sell it and make a bit of money (7o quids for a piece of glass is a bit toomuch, uh?).
Considering that after HOURS of research I had found nothing better than a 169 euro full repair (LCD+glasstop) -in Germany...- I reckon the £70 was not a rip off anyway. I missed a beat when I saw that crack yesterday, and I swore to myself I'd get my baby back in action...with less than 100 pounds. Mission accomplished ;-)
If any of you guys (AND I DO HOPE YOU DON'T) breaks JUST the LCD (but not the glasstop), let me know and we can work out a nice price for both you and me (I have a spare LCD now...And if you read till here you might be in need of one!).
my e-mail [email protected]
p.s. Thanx to the forum I found answers to ALL my queries...but how comes NOBODY before me broke his glasstop?!?Am I the only silly one who made it?? ;-(
ciao guys and thanx for your help anyway (btw: htc europe was USELESS and no, I have no little flower on my girlfreind's sad OLYMPUS camera!)
cracking and hacking are forbidden here in this site, so please dont crack your screen again
70 pounds are really tooooooooo much for a broken peice of glass, but what else can you do? you have to buy it!!! any way, congratulations you have solved the issue finally.

Sorry for your sceen!
Were did you find you "emule" skin?
Thanks
Seb.
I took my phone back to O2, I had no insurance, so i was expecting to have to pay to get it repaired (the girl behind the counter looked at me like i was insane to try and get it fixed "It'll be sooo expensive").
However when I went to pick it up a few days later, they gave me a new one, with new battery, earphones, stylus etc... for free!
The receipt simply said "unrepairable".
You have a great service in europe, I live in an arab country, once you crack your screen here they will say " you have broken your screen to get a new one, but you will never!!!" then they take your mobile to fix it, you wait for 24 months, then they say that they cant find the mobile, so they give you brand-used siemens A-35 mobile instead of the mini s, saying that "they have almost the same features. either accept it or go and kill yourself"
Thats how our companies deal with us!!!
Thank god, you live in europe!!!

Are you in jordan? I cracked, no better yet SMASHEd, the screen on my 9500 about a year ago when i was on summer vacation in Saudi Arabia. I took it to the warranty repair center and i just had to convince them that it was an accident. They gave the device to a very talented philipino guy sitting in a little cubicle, 15 min later, had my device with a new screen. 30 minutes later had traded in the 9500 for a I-Mate Jam(my first windows mobile device).

You are completely right, but do you know why did they do that with you? because you are not arabic guy, you are american. Lets be fair, the service in Saudi arabia is a bit better than the service in jordan, but when an arabic company deals with an arabic customer that cracked his screen, they will crack his head and kick him out of the company office.
Ofcourse, our companies are not as bad as I describe, but it will never happen that you crack your screen and they simply give you a new phone with a new battery, because they feel that they will look stupid.
Thats how our companies deal with us!!!
Hey guys...

where can I buy a screen for the Cingular 8125????
Hi. I called the HTC parts number listed above and they say they do not see the LCD screens, but only repair them. I have looked online and can only find 1 site that sells the LCD for the HTC 8125 (www.pdasmart.com) but they charge more for the part than it costs to send the phone in to get repaired!!!!
So far the cheapest way to to replace my screen is to pay $169 and send it in. Does anyone know of a cheaper way to replace my screen???

I presume we are the $169 site that you found. You can also order just the part and receive a 10% discount on the part. There is no warranty when purchasing the part only though. Simply put "part only - 10% no warranty" in the special instructions field of the order.

Hey guys...
today somehow.. i dont know how.. my camera cover broke...
I am from Germany.. does anybody of u guys know where to buy a spare part ..? I once read that its not even neccessary to open the device .. it would b possible just to press it in the free gap.. the new glass.. after fiddling the broken glassparts out..
could anybody of u guys help me ? Need to buy a new one or get it repaird or do it on my own or whatever.. as cheap as possible.. any experiences?
Not sure, but I guess this is your same issue :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686990
Just order from here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130469800249
use pincet and peel off the broken glass, remove everything and just replace it with that. Thats what i did and its still fine today, no need for extra glue since there is enough glue there to glue a new piece of glass. God lock it took only about 1-2 minutes to change it
same issue, thats true.. but no information of a seller in europe.. from ebay or such you know=)

i dropped my dvp yesterday. the screen is broken and cannot display anything. it just display some random colors. if you guys know any place to fix it, please tell me. i live in Sydney.
I think the only solution so far is to call dell and make them fix it to you
no one is selling any spare parts for DVP yet, just accessories
or try to buy a bricked phone fron e-bay and take its screen
good luck
I agree with the above - the first place to try is Dell, to see whether they can fix it (or suggest someone who can).
If you want to try fixing it yourself, I think it is possible to buy spare parts. Saw a blog post about this where someone replaced his screen. His screen was broken but his gorilla glass 'lens' was undamaged. The article mentions where he got his replacement screen, although it's a UK website.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/roblarso...-a-broken-lcd-screen-on-a-dell-venue-pro.aspx
The service manual probably gives a good description of disassembling a DVP too. (It also lists the part number of the screen, if you want to try finding another source).
If both the glass 'lens' and screen need replacing, it might not be much cheaper than buying a used DVP.
I have a cracked screen on my s7 edge and need it replaced, the touch panel and lcd screen is fine just the glass needs replacing. Been calling alot of places and the prices range alot. A couple places have a real good price but said the screen is a fake not genuine but they have good reviews from the public. The genuine parts are soooooooo expensive but I cant trust them because they are local mobile shops not a samsung shop so do I take the gamble or not on them?
I cant take it to samsung because I bought my phone overseas and didnt know stupid samsung have a policy only repair from the country of original you bought it, so so dumb I was willing to pay them anyway to fix it whats the difference take the money so have to resort to local mom and pop shops in my city. So just wanted to know if anyone has replaced screens with fakes and if any issues, as long as the touch works just as well and they dont mess up my screen resolution or colours which i doubt they will I think I should be ok right?
Go with only glass replacement. Its just glass...
I've never seen not genuine lcd for s7 edge
New lcd cost about 400$, glass about 130$ in my country, so its simple math
awesome thanks, the glass samsung said on the phone was $220 but in person they wanted 340 but couldnt do it when they realised I have the international model so they turned me back. Everywhere else I ask cheapest glass I can find was 260 and most expensive was 500 which is crazy just for that. Guess youre right its just glass best bet to go with it than spend wasted money. The places with "genuine" parts want 360 and again iffy if they are real or not
I cracked my screen ?
I can find screen replacements online but they're not oem. Does anyone know of a way to get an official oem replacement?
Also may be a silly question, but would the replacement affect the AMOLED qualities?
They have them listed as. LCD, so I'm not sure if it will still look AMOLED with all the deep black glory.
All the touch functionality still works. A guy at a screen repair shop said it doesn't matter I should still get the entire panel replaced.
But what do other people think?
if the screen is just cracked but everything works would something like this suffice?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07437G7Z5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NDMDBbVXQCCCM
Or would I need seething like this?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075N6KG7Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5EMDBbECJ3YE1
If it helps attached some pictures of the damage
Any input would be greatly appreciated
Thank you!
I bought a replacement screen off of eBay via China obviously and took a flyer. It shows up legit which surprised me . The Huawei logo is blocked with a small peice of black tape and it all checked out . This is kind of irrelevant since the eBay seller is no longer registered user. The reason I'm writing this is I believe you can find legit replacements on eBay if you look hard enough . This guy in China actually didn't even have the screen listed I was after a different mate 9 pro part and by thebwayd him and he said yes he can find original screens. It wasn't cheap but this was over a year ago. Damn it was not cheap at all I believe I paid over 300 for it. Now I suspect the price is lower if you can by the way the right chineese seller .
I'll try to grab some more info if I have time later today and get back to you
