[Q] Can't mount SD, or boot into recovery, etc. - Hero, G2 Touch General

Hello,
I came back to my Hero after I lost my GS2, and now I'm running a rooted version of Android 2.3.3, and I can't seem to do anything on this.
I can't install custom apps as I have no SD card, and I can't boot into Recovery.
Can anyone help?

I have a similar issue since trying out a "new" CMR in the development area.
SD doesn't mount in Recovery or in ROM, it is detected during fastboot.
Starting the phone with the SD card inside makes it bootloop.
The SD card is visible on linux and windows. I've formatted it to FAT in any case but it makes no difference.
ADB & "USB debugging" is not activated when a cable is plugged in when in ROM. Drivers and settings are fine.
All I could do is fastboot and apply RUU.... but even this didn't solve the issue...
Any advice?
Is it possible to repairable "brick" USB and SD card mounting with an issue in Recovery?
Please help, I cannot really use the phone without SD card, FW 1.5 is not my favourite...

Is your SD card 32gb? because I've heard this causes problems on some devices.

No it's 16GB. I've used it for over a year in the phone.

htc evo usb and sd card issues (unrooted).

I have two issues,
1. My evo doesn't recognize my sd card or any sd card that I insert in it. I've hard reset the phone and even reformatted the sd card on my macbook pro (fat32). I inserted the sd card with no files on it and when I took it out of the phone and mount it on my mac via the card reader I saw some Unix Executable Files that the phone put one the card, this is what the files name look like (qxdm_20101214_011430_1.dm).
2. when I connect the phone to my mac or pc, the computer doesn't recognize it so I can mount it as disk drive. usb debugging it on and there's no option for disk drive under default connection type. I've try new usb cable with no luck. I try doing the usb fix on this forum but with the two issues I'm having I can't do the adb for the sd card and the usb fix. any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated. I want to root my phone
HTC EVO 4G 2.2
baseband 2.15.00.09.01
kernel 2.6.32.15
build 3.29.651.5
hboot 0.97.0000
anyone? i really need help
Were you able to solve this?
I've been having the same issue, I had root with SHIP-OFF, but somehow lost it, things got corrupted somewhere and I still haven't gotten things working right yet.
I used this fix to re-enable the SD card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Which then allowed me to load the stock rom from bootloader. I'm yet to find a USB fix though. Can't charge without powering off. Can't figure out how to root the phone without USB. Let me know if you found a solution. Thanks

[Q] HD2 Nand SD Error

I'm new to posting here but i'm familiar with booting android and wp7 on hd2s...my issue is that whenever I boot into magdlr 1.13 to boot android from CMW it says that the sd is not mounted, however whenever I enter usb mass storage mode it is recognized my the computer. Also when I boot into an android rom via DFT then it still will not acknowledge my sd card. When I remove it, it shows the sd card removed up in the status bar. What could the problem be? How could I get my sd card to be recognized by the device again?

Perform a chkdsk on it or better still do a backup then full format of ur sd card....Also when copying previously backed up files 2 ur sd card, try 2 copy only essentials & certified files as most files end up being corrupted rendering the sd card useless.
P.S. Search google for "sd formatter 3.0" use it 2 format ur sd card.

[q] urgent help needed!!

Ok, I have CWM and I can access it. I cannot read from my External SD Card to install a rom. I can access my Internal SD but I do not have a rom in there.
I cannot boot into the previous ROM since I erased everything and when restarting I get boot loops. I need the tablet to get back to work tomorrow.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
I have a ROM downloaded in my PC but when I connect the A500 to the PC (via USB) I cannot mount it to copy it there and flash.
HELP please!!!
What version of CWM do you have. I think the new one can install ROM from USB drive. Also try reformatting the SD card in a PC in FAT32, some time its just that and some time tablet is picky what SD card it can read and what it cant.

I was able to put the SD Card from my phone and flashed the new rom. The tablet is sill not recognizing the SD Card though. I put it on my PC and it wont detect it (cant format it that way). I put it on my printer and I am able to read from it but I cannot format it. It tells me that is right protected.
I need to find another way of formatting it.
Thanks for your help.
I suggest you get a new sd card. Clearly the one you're trying to use is not working.
I'm not even sure if you can "write protect" an SD. Maybe something on the micro SD adapter perhaps (switch)? Or an option in Windows Explorer (check the sd's "properties". If it says "write protected", then turn it off.

[Q] Lost my external SD

Flashed my a500 several times. Decided to go back to taboonay. In recovery I decided to clean everything. I formatted everything that had an option to format including SD. I thought that was the internal however I was wrong and lost all my backups and roms. No problem I thought, went to my desktop put the new rom on sd card the reinstalled in my device.
OK the problem: It will not flash the rom because recovery can nolonger mount my sd card. I've tried other sd cards formated fat.
Any ideas?

and did those other cards work?
sorry
No, other sd cards did not work. So what I have is a tab that when turned on goes strait to acer logo and loads nothing. I can however open to recovery however it will not mount the sd card. Also, it is not recognized when plugged in to my dell.
Solved
Ok, after reading this thead
I found that yes formating the sd card in either windows or linux will not work. Using my android phone to format the card works. It is now mountable. However I still could not flash directly to taboonay as I wished, but following this thread
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227 -
got me up and going again.
Put the rom on a thumbdrive. Plug the thumb drive in. Turn it on to boot to recovery. It should let you install from zip without having to mount. Works for me.

American Android in an infinite rebooting loop

Hello,
I have American Android on my phone. After a few weeks of stability, the screen turned black and I was unable to get the phone to respond to any buttons anymore. I took the battery out of the phone and restarted it. It's stuck in the boot screen with the cyan Android animation. It never gets past this animation.
What can I do to fix this?
Also, I tried to open USB Massstg in the magldr menu to try to backup what I had on the phone, but for some reason, my computer isn't able to read anything from the phone in that mode.

Edit: I see you mean task29. Will that remove all of the data on the SD card?
It won't touch the data on the SD card. Also, in reference to the OP, the reason USB Mass storage won't read anything from the phone is because it's used to read the SD card, not the internal storage.

I am running all of my Android builds from my SD card. They are not ROMs that I flashed to the NAND.
Since all of my Android builds are being run from my SD card, how come USB mass storage does not work? You said that it is used to read the SD card, and all of my Android builds are stored on the SD card and not internal storage, so how come my PC cannot read the SD card under Magldr's USB mass storage mode?
Will using Task 29 fix my problem. I don't have a buggy ROM since I am booting my Android builds off my SD card. Also,
I just tried to put the following SD card Android builds on my SD card, and they keep restarting at the HTC screen (also going in an infinite loop):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504369
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437463
I guess that the American Android build isn't the problem since other SD card Android builds are doing the same thing. I am really puzzled about what is happening. No Android SD card build is working, and I cannot figure out why. They were all working before yesterday.
I realize that there is FAQ that tries to address this issue, but the context here is different. I have no Android ROM flashed. I am completely booting from an SD Android build. The FAQ says to address the partition size, but I never had to deal with partitions because I am not using an Android ROM.
If you have a backup on your SD like (titanium backup) remove your SD card from phone and use SD card reader hook up to PC copy said backup folder to desktop and reformat SD then copy folder back to root of SD and reinstall ROM files to root and clean install.

Do you know how I would get my battery fully charged? For some reason, the battery isn't getting charged when it is plugged in. I only get an infinite reboot loop.
