I created a tool a while back for Galaxy S II owners to backup and restore the '/efs' partition and perform basic NV Repair on their devices.
This proved so popular that I recently updated the application which now includes a feature to automatically detect the mount point of the '/efs' partition. This allows any supported device to be used with EFS Pro and also adds support for future devices.

Hello I'm new to Samsung phones after many Sony phones and making the jump from Sony to Samsung come with a lot of new flashing tools and methods and as I'm sure you know when making the switch to from any phone new things can be quite confusing.
So I have a few questions about some things and after googling around found no straight answer to my queries and thought some people with a lot of knowledge of Samsung phones would be able to help me out
1. Should I backup the efs before every rom installation or is doing it once enough
2. How likely is it that the efs folder/partition become corrupted
3. When backing up it said one file missing is that because it gives you three different backups to restore 3 different ways?
4. If I ever had to restore it would I have to be on the same firmware I was on when I backed it up or does it have nothing to do with the firmware?
5. Would copying the efs folder to a backup location then moving back if it ever gets wiped work?
Thanks you I know some of the questions may be relatively simple to some of you but to me not so coming from a long line of Sony phones
P.s I'm not regretting making the jump love my note 3

Once is enough, unless you want redundancy for some reason. As long as you have one good copy, you can restore EFS if it ever gets corrupted.
2. How likely is it that the efs folder/partition become corrupted
Not very likely. It's never happened to me personally. The point is that it can become corrupted, so at least one good backup is recommended.

How are you backing up your EFS?
4. If I ever had to restore it would I have to be on the same firmware I was on when I backed it up or does it have nothing to do with the firmware?
EFS contains phone-specific information like IMEI, so should not normally be dependent on which ROM you're on.
5. Would copying the efs folder to a backup location then moving back if it ever gets wiped work?
I would recommend keeping a few copies around. Copying the backup to a computer in case you need it later is OK.
Thank you very much for your answers =)

Just in case someone need this.
/data/user/0/com.lg.qremote/databases/qremotesettings.db
-this is settings file
I've setup custom remote (one remote for TV, Amp and Sat) and it's quite difficult to re-create all buttons and learn them. TA
Yep or /data/data/com.lg.qremote which titanium backup and other backup apps will backup / restore anyway.

I can't use Kies as it won't restore apps to the new phone and I don't have have ROOT so now Titanium Backup
Cheers
App Backup & Restore OR G-Data Cloud Back are your best options.
I am using Helium - App Sync and Backup. No need to be rooted
thanks guys
If rooted, Titanium Backup is a good option which backup apps to the core
an
I usually stick with Titanium Backup
Does it work without root?

Hie..
My mobile device is Samsung Galaxy S5 sm g900f. I have backed up Nandroid through an App called "Online Nandroid backup".
Now I want to restore to my old android version. Anyone Please help me how to restore using this back up files.
First you should have checked the date of the app (2014) 1.5 years since it was even updated..
Then checked the thread linked in the apps details
----
1. The "Online Nandroid Backup" application and script discussed in this thread are no longer supported (dead, muerto, kaputt) and this thread is definitely NOT the best place for information on how to backup any device. I know, it's confusing because there's no such announcement in the OP and the app is even still listed in the Play Store. Do yourself a favor and forget about "ONB". It was nice at one time, but it now belongs in a museum... or the trash bin...
