Would this cause the same problem as rolling back from Gingerbread to Froyo? I bricked and had to sbf when I tried to go from 2.3 to 2.2.
(cm9 is so awesome and getting better so I prolly won't go back, but I'm just curious).

I've done it a couple times in the past weeks with new releases of each and haven't had a problem. Current using the 6/16 cm9 and really liking it. Only problem I've had is Google Chrome Beta doesn't work.
Just Wipe Data and Factory Reset in the CWM Recovery in between roms of different flashes and you'll be fine.

Yes thats normal. You don't really have to sbf as long as you wipe data and cache when changing ROMs.
Yes you can flash GB from where you are. As long as you are on a 2.3.20 ROM (which you are) your able to flash it without sbfing. Just be sure to wipe data and cache just in case.

So I sold my iPhone for some extra money and have come back to my Nexus S. It was still on 2.3.4 and I wanted to upgrade to ICS. Keep in mind that it was untouched at the time, stock rom, locked boot loader.
I heard that the official OTA ICS update for the I9020T worked for the I9020A except that I would have to flash a new radio.
Long story short, it didn't work and now when I try to flash the stock 2.3.4 rom, I get stuck at the Google logo when I reboot. My phone still has an unlocked boot loader and CWM.
Any ideas? Also I am on a Mac but do have access to a Windows computer.
Who ever told you that is a idiot.
Flashing roms for a different phone model is a very bad idea.
You just need to flash a stock rom for the i9020A as long as you can get into cwm.
Check around the forums, you will find them

flash the rom wiper(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21588527&postcount=2) by brainmaster and then flash new rom.

No. It works just fine. I've been running 4.0.3 on my i9020a for several weeks. When you flash ICS you just have to make sure you do a full wipe. Then flash the radio.

Why wouldn't you flash 2.3.6? You need to flash the full rom. You do the same for ICS. Install CWM, wipe data, flash the full rom. The only difference is for ICS is you flash the radio afterwards.
Thanks guys. Got it working.
So now I'm running on I9020T's official ICS with the AT&T radio. Working great.

Hi,
My phone came with the same version. It has DFP-189 SBF. You can update it to 2.3.6 by a full SBF flash. If you r phone is fully stock(no root etc.) then you can do that by simply choosing the correct SBF(MB526.AsiaRetail.**.DFP-1321) and flashing it and you will be updated to 2.3.6. There is one another updated SBF (MB526.AsiaRetail.**.DFP231) which I currently have and has different lockscreen and caller UI. You can find all the SBF here . Try by just flashing the SBF and you will be updated and your data will be still there. However should you face any prob you will need to do a data wipe from stockrecovery
But before doing any of that you should know:
1.) The SBF with DFP-1321 has BL6(bootloader version) and thus you won't be able to use any CM made for Defy, will have to use CM builds for Defy+.
2.) The SBF with DFP-231 has BL7 and thus cannot be downgraded to any of the SBFs!! And most imp: You can't root it! Why am I using it? Because phone was in service center and they flashed this SBF!!! :'(
need sbf
anyone can provide me with DFP-891 asia retail sbf

You can without any harm flash DFP-1321 as well!! Since that also is an official release and can be used to go back to stock
I dont want go for 2.3.6 since i heard it wont support cm7,MIUI. Is there any possibility of finding DFP-891 asian retail SBF.
I have been using cm7 and not sure about miui but I think miui 4 beta 2 works

Hi, the link for DFP-1321 SBF given in the official thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386942) seems to be broken. This puts me in a spot since I'm made to believe it's not wise to flash a custom ROM without having at least one stock SBF I can fall back on, in case I mess up my phone somehow. I was really looking forward to flashing a custom ROM, and now this problem...
Could someone suggest any alternative link/SBF/method or better still, reupload the DFP-1321 SBF and post the link on the relevant thread? Thanks in advance...

Make a nandroid backup before you flash anything..
If something goes wrong, just restore your backup..
However, there might be a scenario when you cannot access your recovery (highly unlikely if you follow instructions),then you shall need your stock SBF to fall back to.
As for the link being down,

I see, thanks for your response! I wasn't sure whether just restoring a nandroid backup would let get me back to my Stock GB after I flashed a CM10 ROM (It is enough, right? Could you please confim? My Stock configuration right now is super stable and quite fast, I want to ensure I can get back to it at some point if I don't like CM10).

Hi guys.
I've been messing with my atrix for a long while now and I've tried almost every rom available.
For some time now I've been using Morris CM7 but I want to come back to blur to have some use for the lapdock that I have lying around.
I've tried flashing Nottach, aura, alien, topogigi and some other blur roms and on NONE of them I can't get data (internet).
I entered the right APN, the same one I use on CM7 and CM9 ROMs but with no success.
I'm considering starting over and just flashing a full SBF, but I can't find any available links to 2.3.4 that I used last year when I got my Atrix.
The only one I could find is:
1FF-olympus-user-2.3.6-4.5.141-111212-release-keys-signed-ATT-US-GAS_NA_OLPSGBATTSPE_P012.sbf.gz
and there's a sticky warning against it.
I could use some help.
Thank you for your patience. :fingers-crossed:

I have a Glacier that I rooted and put an ICS rom on a little while back. My fiance's phone recently died and I gave her the Glacier to go back to my Vibrant. Where I was able to appreciate ICS and enjoy it despite how unstable the ROM was, she really really hates it and now I need to revert back to Gingerbread. She wants stock, but I want to keep the phone rooted so I'm thinking something like CM or Ice-Glacier or something would be better.
Anyways, my question is do I need to do anything special to safely go back to a GB ROM from ICS?

nope, just do a full wipe including wiping /system (just for safety measures) and flash the Gingerbread ROM.
