Hi All,
Have been using the Dopod D810 in WM5 for a while, syncing using ActiveSync 4.5 worked well, syncs were fast. After upgrading to WM6, syncing became much slower, even if i just chose to sync the calendar appointments.
For example, when i have the D810 connected through USB to the desktop, then I add a simple calendar entry in desktop Outlook, the system starts syncing, that calendar entry is quickly sync'ed ( 0/1 changing to 1/1 then the check mark, this process is fast). However, after this, the system still stays on "synchronizing" for about 1 minute until it finishes.
I have already tried lots of WM6 roms, including the official Dopod D810 WWE rom and many other cooked roms (ax3l, mary, pdaviet, etc...)
Have you guys encountered this problem? and how to solve it?
please... no one has this problem except me?

I have the same problem, but I have no idea how to solve it.
I have the same problem with HTC-P4350 (HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe firmware)
I only have this problem when I choose to sync Outlook Email. When I deselect it, syncing is relatively fast.
Hi everyone, after doing some research online, it seems that its a consensus. Anyone running ActiveSync 4.5 is seeing this issue. I was running 4.2 with wm5 and syncs were lightning fast. I'm not sure if I upgraded to 4.5 or it happened during a windows auto update. 4.5 and wm5 was slow as heck. I tried everything. Reinstalling, hard resets etc, nothing. I upgraded my TyTN to wm6 and same problem.
I've tried posting this problem (others have as well) in the MSFT forums but no replies.
Anyone... HELP!!
it works with me
Hi guys,
I had the same problem with slow synchronization on activesync 4.5, however now my problem is a bit solved. I only chosed to sync calendar, and I installed with activesync 4.5 provided by the HTC (in my case it is T-mobile companion cd). Now it works charmingly. It seems there is some bugs or some optimization made per every microsoft mobile product. I will see if uploading the activesynce of T-mobile will violate the copyright, if not you will see it in the ftpserver shortly.
thanks for the replies. I am now wondering whether installing Outlook 2007 would help for the syncing problem between activesync 4.5 and wm6... ?
And #6, dymlu, I have installed activesync 4.5 and I am now syncing with my d810 in wm5 without problems.
I am using outlook 2007 with active sync 4.5. The speed is still slower compare to WM05 rom. Now i got problem with zonealarm, i need to shutdown it before activesync can sync with my PDA.
same problem here including activesync connection dropping on transfer of large files eg., video file over 1mb
i posted my problem here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326455
With any hope, MS might make an ActiveSync 4.51 available?
Yes, same here. ActiveSync 4.5 with TMO Wing. Sinking PhatNotes to desktop, the rest of Outlook to my Exchange server. It's just slow, period. RNDIS?
the slow problem does not seem to be related to rndis, even with rndis disabled, the same problem persists. When i just try to sync the calendar events, the "tick" mark next to calendar appears fast, the problem is after that, it keeps on saying "synchronizing" for around 1 minute, apparently doing nothing. At that time, the cpu loading on the trinity seems to be quite high, and it becomes un-responsive.
reading the log files of activesync didn't help much (maybe because i couldn't understand it).
I installed SKTools and in the optimize tab, I made an 'optimize for performance' action, which made several modifications in the registry. (TCPIP packet size ...)
Synchronization is now faster, even if the task has still a priority near critical on the PPC.
SKTools is a shareware and since the modification is needed only once ...
Yes, Activesync is *extremely* slow in my case as well. I am sure that this there is an incompatibility between *Micro$oft* Activesync and *Micro$oft* WM6!!
The reson I say this is because I was using the bundled WM6 and Activesync and the speed was incredibly slow. The speed hasn't changed even now that I flashed a lighter ROM.
It's time for M$ developers to get into work!
Yep, slow for me too. I'm running Office 2007 (under XP), the latest WM6 ANZ firmware and syncing email, calendar and favorites.
Have tried changing various settings, but it's still powerfully slow!
Slow ActiveSync
I upgraded my hx2490 from wm5 to wm6.1 and data transfer is slower than old good 5 1/4 fdd
For the people using windows live messenger that already is installed on the HTC Touch HD, could get problems with connecting to the server.
Mostly the synchronizing failes, i found on the internet the latest version of Windows Live Messenger 10.6.39.1300 and works fine after miliseconds

HTC Touch HD Live Messenger sync failure
Hi aokalter!
Thanks a lot!!! Last week I got my HTC Touch HD and it just wouldn't want to sync my contactlist with the pre-installed version of WM Live Messenger.
The version you've posted is a slightly older version of Live Messenger and that was the trick! THANX!
I've installed your version and I'm back only on my Touch HD finally!
thanks!!!

Kinda sucks, used to have VF rom and MSN worked perfect there, wish I had stripped it somehow..
Hello,
I searched the forum but no solution...
I upgraded yesterday to the official 1.66 rom (from the first 1.43), all went fine.
However, after the paring and first sync, Leo won't be recognised by AS any longer! (And I had another issue, the original calendar app would not start because of lack of memory it said) Also the Active Sync on Leo would not start.Weired??! I did not put any programs on, just synced with my outlook files (Contacts, calendar and notes).
I did hard reset the device a couple of times, even reflashed the 1.66rom, but leo won't reconnect after first sync.
Any suggestions how I could make the Leo work? I really appreciate as I love the device!
many thanks!!
I had this not syncing issue couple of times after a new ROM upgrade. What I did was, removing all the checkboxes for pairing (contacts, mail etc.) then start to check them one by one starting with contacts. That said, I don't really care about syncing with my computer anymore, as I think Exchange Sync is way better.
What you might want to try as well:
Go to Comm Manager - Menue - USB to PC and deactivate the check-box for ActiveSync's Fast Data Synchronization.
Wording might be different on your HD2 as mine is a German version.
Anyway, this worked for me as my Laptop is having problems with fast USB connections.

I had this problem a few times, my problems have always been wmdc / active sync rather than leo. Google it and you'll find instructions about un-installation and re-installation.
Solved
Thanks for all the advice!
What I did is I synced the outlook info one by one. All worked well, and I excluded outlook mail and tasks. I suspect that there is a problems with transferring the mail items. For some reason the HD2 does not like it.
In any case the HD2 runs flawlessly now. Thank you!!
Can someone build ROM without HTC Messages ?.The reason for that is htc messages does nos support SMS Sync function With Exchange 2010 servers.I try HTC Support but they tell me that there is no way to syncronyze text messages with Exchange server.
I found a cab that disables the new functionality (htc messages)and revert back to Windows Mobile messaging application but the TEXT tab in manila is a mess and not realy working properly .With old (stock) application syncing works fine .
That particular problem is on every HTC device that is using HTC Messages and Windows Mobile 6.5.
Wow HTC - you suck this time !
Hello,
I have problem with my new HTC desire HD. I installed the last update of HTC sync downloaded from HTC website (3.0.54.81). Everything was OK, I connected my Desire HD on it to synchronize my Outlook Contacts and Calendar (Outlook 2003 SP3). Then unexpectly the PC prints a blue screen and reboot.
I removed HTC sync (and drivers) and install the version from the SD provided with Desire HD (3.0.54.39). It works also fine but I have blue sreens after random time.
Do you have an idea?
Microsoft says:
Device driver problem, error during stopping
Have you contacted HTC to see if they have a solution?
