He's Right
Its annoying that GB dosent have a built in task switcher since its makes more dificulty to kill apps and hurts the phone's preformance. so The You devs out there can maybe port the ics or Wp7 switcher to GB?

What is so special about miui ?

I have been looking at so many miui ROM
And people are miui crazy
Is there any reason why miui is so good ?
If I find it promising
I might consider working on it ...

I think some people just prefer the look and feel of miui compared to other roms. I used to use Trip's miui froyo until gingerbread came out.
The UI is very nice, like for example when answering a phone call it looks way better than in any other rom, but i prefer rom's with menu's more since MIUI doesn't

No offence to those that like miui.
I hate miui.
Miui doesn't have menus ?
I'll make a miui ROM ...
I'll heavily modify it
I'll try my best
But still anything else ???

not much
other than
its lookin too iphonish
MIUI-
no menu like default ROMS- menu is like iphone
awesome features, like a country name is flashed when someone calls u
the drag down noticifaction menu has all the shortcuts ,so no widgets
faster than default roms
awesome themes with really nice lock screens
music controls on lock screen
MIUI cam is good
now one will say we can have all these in stock roms with apps but why to install app when everything is by default in MIUI
now if you are starting to make a MIUi rom then put this and it will be best rom ever
MIUI Interface with option launchers like SE stock launcher
MOST IMPORTANT- SE DEFAULT CAM and not MIUI Cam
Cyanogen mod settings
Trip is already working on a rom with features from all other ROMS to make a super rom..but in XDA we have nothing sort of that...so lets starts a poll what we need and a dev can start on that ROM

[Q] What is the best GB rom for defy?

I want to give my mother a used Motorola defy, and I want to flash it with a deblured and stable GB ROM for the phone. what do you guys recomend?
I guess no one has an opinion to share in here.

U don't have to flash it the rom it comes with works 100%. If debugging it is ur gig. I gave my mom my old 1. All I used was home switcher n launcher pro. Launcher pro allows u to "HIDE" not remove blur... works great I removed all the apps I know she doesn't use or know how to use.. just left the needed.... I don't like messing with roms. That was the best way I could find other wise. Give it shot. If u don't like it. Then rom it up. But u'll be pleased.

Does anyone here think its necessary to use this on our phone running on ICS?
Before this when we are on Gingerbread we have thunderbolt script and it is very popular thread but after we got aosp ICS it seem been forgotten...
So what is your opinion guys
p/s: Sorry if my English is bad
I let it run to waste time.
I used this some times ago on one of the first cm9 builds... but it made things even worse, so i never used it again. In my opinion there isn't any use for it (on CM9)
Why would you want this on ics? Not smooth enough already? Then you need some lube!
I'm using it and it's great. :good:
Had always some slow down after some time on (I almost never reboot my phone), never happens again using option 6 ("Ledded" 100MB).
No launcher redraw, nothing getting killed I do not want to... just perfect setting for me.

It reconfigures memory management what isn't really needed on ICS. Besides that, it comes with misc tweaks, zipalign, etc.

It also means my phone never gets in the 60MB-45MB RAM free where I feel it is running a lot slower.
With the 100MB supercharger settings, inactive apps get killed when I get around 75MB free and those apps are the oldest launched ones I'm not using at this moment.
Le option 6
My dear friends...option 6 will rule you. Don't forget to do some OOM regrouping or something like that. It really rocks
Its something useless IMO
Android know how mange ram
Btw I'm on aokp+devil + apex +zram I don't have any launcher redraw what ever I opened
Btw I played with my friend sgs3 and some times when u exit from some apps launcher redraw wtf
sent from another galaxy running by Rootbox & unknown kernel
I think the V6 Supercharger is essential only if you have launcher redraws.
I have been running SlimICS 4.0 with Nova Prime.
I have a pretty heavy setup with 9 home screens all completely full with widgets.
My launcher takes up about 45 MB. Usually after a playing an intensive game or after opening multiple pages in the web browser, returning to the home screen involved waiting for all the widgets to reload.
I currently use Devil 0.99b with a Swap partition, overclocked to 1320MHz and a Die Hard launcher and I never get any redraws anymore.
My OOM values don't stick, but I don't think it's necessary as SlimICS has good defaults.
In short. V6 Supercharger is awesome!
may I ask if this is compatible with slim ics 4.2 with semaphore 1.2.6s?

Which Android rom to choose?

Hey guys,
today I spent all day reading about Android ROMs, but I'm going more and more confused. I'm using EU HD2 and have not enough space for application updates etc. For this reason I want to move some apps (navigation, games) on SD card. Can somebody advice me good, tiny and stable ROM? Great benefit would be ROM working in landscape mode, because I want to use my phone in my car in landscape. ROMs that I like are :
myMIUI 14 B6 [MAGLDR/CLK║Dorimanx║GB║APP2SD║CACHE2DATA║ZIPALIGN]
[MAGLDR/cLK]TyphooN CyanogenMod 7.2.0.1 v3.8.8[2.3.7][A2SD+][tytung r14]
PARANOIDANDROID HD2 v1.5b [TABLET/HYBRID][CM9][A2SD][tytung_HWA_r3.2]
[AROMA ROM] Leo King 2.3.6 ICS 4.0.4_CM9_Rc2_Bulletproof!
[ICS] [4.0.4] [STABLE] CyanogenMod 9 RC 2 [securecrt_tytung_HWA]
AndroPlus Ultimate |High Quality|Fast|Smooth|GB 2.3.3|Sense 2.1+3.0+3.5+4.0
NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.5 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3.2
BTW good working camera is very appreciated.
Reading is not enough, you have to try them to decide which is better.
Most of these roms are already stable, and most of them are tiny (150-200).
For the best camera, I recommend gingerbread. what do you mean by "landscape" ? all roms have rotation, don't they?
Having a EU HD2 means you probably won't be able to use a ROM without an a2sdd script, or at least moving apps to the sd card, so I propose using an a2sd script when installing any ROM.

By "landscape" I mean rotation of main screen, phone dialer, weather or music widget for example instead of navigation or other stand alone applications only.

With an EU HD2 I would stay away from sense roms because of size. Tytung's roms have always been really good for me but I'm with everyone else, try some and see what suits your taste. I'm using huhjun's [ICS-ROM] iCyanogen 1.2 [Fast-Stable-Bravia-Xloud][tytung_HWA_r3.4] and love it.
Reading is not enough, you have to try them to
Most roms are already stable, and most of them are tiny (150-200)
but it all depends on what you want ie sense or no sense if you want a lite rom take the rom you like and delete apps from it to make it lite "ie all the aps you can get from market " then you can move them to sd card tbh i use a lite rom but the lowest ive managed to get it to is 150mb .(on phone)
why not download a rom and experiment with it theres a lot you can delete from them /apps to language boot loader gifs ringtones
download and install 7zip its a lot easy'r to delete things you can extract the rom from the zip to see what size it will come out at
I can say for myself only. By my opinion, AOKP has best combination of settings and tweaks which really make life easier. Battery life and speed of this rom are very very good. But unfortunately this rom was not very stable for me, I experienced hot reboots regularly.
So I switched back to NexusHD2. It has comparable battery life and speed, but less tweaking possibilities. Stability of this rom has always been out of question for me. It is solid rock.
TyphooN CyanogenMod ROM was my first rom on HD2 and I have only positive impressions of it. Switched to ICS just because this phone let me do that. Prefer newer versions when possible.
Hyperdroid GBX is a 50 - 60mb file and takes just 92mb of system. If your priority is to save memory that would be the best option.

I think you should try the paranoid rom. Shoukd
After install you have around the 230 mb free, and it was not neccesary for me to use an a2sd script, and god, the rom is soooo stable

What rom to choose for U8800pro?

Hello,
I may sound like a noob, but thats only because i didn't play with these roms much so far... so, yes, i am a noob
I managed to upgrade my U8800pro to 4.03 official thanks to some of you.
Now i am looking through the forum and many threads and many many custom roms, but i cant decide which one to go with since all seem to have problems...
So the question is: which rom is the most stable+fastest for U8800pro? It would be also nice if normal features (calls sound ok, network works ok, "notification drawer", gmail, youtube, play store, gps, wifi, tethering (wifi, usb), music playback, if possible radio, if not also ok) are also present and working. I really hope there is such rom out there. I dont mind if it is based on 2.x or 4.x (ok, i prefer 4.x, but if some 2.x is better, i will go with that), as long as it works well.
I also have U8800 and there it is easy choice. Go with Aurora, and everything (well, almost everything) works as intended. I also looked for Aurora mod for U8800pro but the best i could find is a mod for Aurora 4.x, while there is already Aurora 5.x out there.
I will post instructions for upgrading 2.2 to 2.3 to 4.03 later on, since i had problems upgrading myself for future noobs to use.
And thanks in advance

Stock Gingerbread
best ROM
nothing can beat it..
ALL custom ROMs for U8800PRO have one thing or the other that'll leave you unsatisfied..
Stock ICS is bad for gaming.
all JB 4.1 have only secondary mic (the one beside the camera) working.. plus, camera doesn't work properly except in stock/pre-installed camera app.
all JB 4.2 have buggy/broken bluetooth
If you don't play heavy games (even Subway Surfers is HEAVY for this phone ).. then you can stick to official ICS.. just unlock FPS (that "install-recovery.sh" thing) and all Temple Runs will be fine.

I'll have to disagree!
Rittik's CM10 ROM is probably the best choice. It's really fast, no lag, and with RAM Manager Pro and History wiping (long press home button), there is absolutely no problem (provided you disable apps to run at startup with Autostart).
Gaming is as smooth as stock GB, except for the games that are ridiculously heavy.
I hope I helped =)

I disagree with both of you. Our friend needs a stable ROM. So I suggest him to try Gingerbread(2.x.x) custom ROMs like THE STALLION ICS look, CyanogenMod 7.2 and MIUI. Everything works like a charm, no reboots, good RAM managment, a lot of extras(the last two ROMs) and no battery drain.
You can downgrade to Gingerbread by flashing step 2 from an official GB ROM.

CM7.2 is buggy.. buttons backlight.. and proximity sensor.. Also, Awesome Beats™ does not work on GingerBread.. Beats™ is the only thing that can beat SRS WOW HD... CM7.2's DSP Manager is "just okay"...

i have flashed almost all of the roms available for more than a week each (time required to actually see if there are any hidden bugs)
The roms with the least bugs are Kalo and stallion ics.All the others have important issues (for me) thats the reason i didnt stick with them.In general:All ics roms are heavy and laggy, not for games ofcource. All "jb" roms have very serious issues such as awful memory management and awful incall sound, the phone's most important function, broken bluetooths, broken gps, broken wifi, and a lot of smaller bugs.
All miuis have issues, mainly low memory because of the heavy ui.
Cms are almost ok but not quite there.
I didnt want to return to gingerbread after all these beautiful roms but they are just that, beautiful on the outside ugly on the inside!
we have to focus on gb roms, they are the most complete unfortunately, unless a real dev shows up and work on sources

I didn't expect you would say that. I don't think anyone will agree with you.
Stock ROMs lag a lot, have locked fps, are unrooted, less features...
korekore I think you 've tried the MIUI I'm on with right now.
It's fast, it has a lot of useful features, it has the most free memory I ever encountered and minimum battery drain(all night 1-2% loss).
B U T I have installed only 51 applications like every ROM I used in the past. I mention that because you said that problems start to appear after a big number of installed apps(>100).
I think this ROM siuts me better than anyone other and it was a pleasant surprise for me.
