anybody else noticed that phone responds less and lagier while charging. i noticed lut more chopier behavior in scrolling screens in launcher pro and adw
I thought the Galaxy didn't have any lag problems, that sucks. I don't have the phone so I can't comment, hopefully it comes to America soon.

it doesnt have while not on charger. it seams thet screen sensitivity drops down or cpu scales down. dont realy know what is causing this
yes I also noticed this yesterday while trying to use the phone while charging...gave up trying to write a message, was too hard due to the lag
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I noticed this on the S1 but never did on the S2.. I usually play a lot of games even when charging.
Are you guys using official Samsung chargers, as far as I know from experience the lag while charging only occurs with a 3rd party charger, not with the official charger.
It's the faulty charger.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
It does in fact have different thresholds when charging vs not charging.
They're talking a bit about it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072471
Original charger, not faulty (second one behaves the same, second phone behaves the same)!
Most likely that the CPU skales down to prevent damages.
noticed that,too
If you guys are using screen protectors it might be the problem :/

affects me as well. Anyone got any idea how to solve charging lag?
Mine galaxy s and s2 are ok with original charger. But when i tried cheap ebay 2$ charger, touchscreen just go crazy and laggy. So i throw them in the bin. Always use original charger.
This is a known issue. Flash a kernel with vitallij's touch screen sensitivity fix or install touchscreentune app and change MoveHyst to 90 and BLEN to 3.
Do a search in the forum for the app.

Use a charger that doesn't suck - the screen responsiveness issues are caused by chargers that put too much noise on the power supply.
Usually is due to bad chargers, but even a stock charger on unclean wall power can cause issues. (Such as when I tried to plug my charger into an inverter.)
If you get a USB cable that has a ferrite filter on it, that may help.

Then you've got noisy wall power. Maybe try a cable with a ferrite filter.
Considering that the USB cable Samsung ships is crap then yes, the charger could be crap. (The USB cable is left plugged into the PC will cause the computer to ding like device connected then disconnect)

read the user manual that came with the phone box...
pretty sure it states something like this..
"touchscreen may be unresponsive while charging"
at least it said that for the gnex, the gs2 one was read too long ago for me to remember.

I was charging my N4 by USB, plugging it into my wall outlet. It had already risen for 3% to 11% when suddenly, it stopped charging. I tried to plug and replug everything and used a different outlet, but I got no positive results. Then, I found that if I bent up the USB cable, the phone would start charging. Eventually, this became an infeasible solution, and now, my N4 has completely shut off. Upon further inspection, the USB port smells like something burning. What's going on? I'm not sure if this is caused by a faulty port of if there was some water damage. Some water flailed on the top of the phone lightly earlier but I'm not sure if some dripped into the port. Earlier today, I was having issues with the connection to charge but a simple unplug and replug fixed everything.
I'm not sure if all these events are coincidences or if one of them is the reason behind why it isn't charging now. Why does the port smell like it's burning? How do I get it to charge again?
EDIT: Not sure if it's the port or the cable that burned out.
EDIT 2: I just go a single red flash. What does this mean!?!?!?

setting aside the burning smell or water that dripped on the phone, have you tried other cable? i also experienced the same issue in charging. it turns out, the cable that came with the box was already faulty, after 4-5 months.
also double check if the usb port is really burned or something. might as well send it to a service center, either in warranty or not, just to be safe

I have been using my nexus 7 2012 for a year now .. it worked brilliant .. but now this horrible issues has sprung in from nowhere .. the battery wont charge up, or rarely it does,, but very slowly. i am running stock 4.4 unrooted . i have checked my ports for dust, swapped several cables and chargers (also used the original charger and cable). but with no luck. Surprisingly the problem appeared suddenly, one day it charged normally , the next day i left it on charge at 60% and returned to find it on 59%.. help me .. this is driving me crazy
Install the Battery Monitor Widget - should give you an idea of charging/power consumption. I'm assuming you've tried using the stock charger and cable?

I think your battery connector is messed up. U might have to open your tablet and disconnect then reconnect the cables.

Search in the forum people have fixed it many times u have top open up your tablet and dc/rc yout battery.
]I too have this same issue....
I have the official dock and never had any charge issues until yesterday....
While it's in the dock, it clearly shows it charging and yet the battery meter appears to be losing charge...
I have tried with the original cable and plug among other cables and yet nothing...
The only way for me to get charged is to turn the unit off and yet it still charges painfully slow...
Anyone with a solution other than opening the thing up and hoping it's the plug?
I am running 4.4.2
Mine's having the same problem. It seems to be a hardware problem.. It's charging very slowly or can't be fully charged.
* I have other devices running 4.4 without charging problems.
Mine started with the 4.4.2 update....
It's very strange... If I turn it off and charge... it charges (again) very slowly.... 3 hours and I went from a 2% charge to 59%...
Doesn't matter if I use the dock or plug it in direct.....
So, to me... I would say a software problem... I just don't want to do a full reset and re-install if I don't have too...
my wife's was all the way dead today after not being used and wouldn't turn on. left it plugged in for 30 min and it powered on with only 2% battery. i t is stock unrooted and everything was all good until 4.4.2 is now charging very slowly. I switched to a non oem usb wire with the asus charger to see if it helps. it is the only stock android in my home (out of 7 devices) and I plan to keep it that way for now.

N7 is very easy to open and close back.
I had the EXACT same issue 2-3 times this year and disconnecting the cable and reconnecting it back fixes it EVERY TIME.
The battery cable is short and the battery is loose so movement pulls the cable out. Not all pins are touching so it results in poor contacts or no contact at all.
Its a design flaw that can also be fixed by sticking a folded paper under the battery.
Voilà!

Tried unplugging and replugging but it's still the same. I think it's my charging connector though. It randomly disconnects when I plug it into the PC. Tried with 3 different cables even the stock one. But I'm not sure if it's the port or the battery. It charges up to < 60 slowly but it doesn't go beyond that and starts draining. Thinking of selling it and getting a flo instead

Just a thought, but another possibility is that the ribbon cable to the USB/headphone jack flex assembly has worked loose to the point of intermittent connections. See "step 10" of iFixit's N7 teardown
Or, if the connector itself is mechanically damaged, maybe there is some way to buy just that Asus sub-assembly. Anyone have a source?

Edit - wow, folks are selling them on eBay for US $50. yikes.
I have the same problem, I purchased a nexus 7 charging dock from Amazon and it charges flawlessly. The dock charges using the 4 pins on the side of the tablet. BTW...The charging dock is under 24.00+ Shipping.

So basically, the phone randomly stopped charging and when i had picked it up to see why it wasn't charging, it was really hot to the touch towards the top of the phone. Not sure what is going on. Tried different cables. Does the same thing when the phone is powered off. I just ordered a new Usb-C jack to replace the phone inside the phone. Maybe shorting of some sort... Any ideas?
Happened with me once, in my case it was draining after putting a charger. So, I let it discharged fully until it got switched off & then put a charger. It started charging normally.

Did you try with another adapter? Because then we can rule out the possibility of a short circuit.
And, you mean more hot then usual? Because it's a 2A charger it's sure to heat up the phone.
One more thing, if it's a short then there are possibilities of the surge protector getting burnt which is inside you phone. In that case, either, you'll have to replace the entire charging circuit board or maybe just the surge protector (It varies form brand to brand. Hope Zuk has a replaceable surge protector)
Well I tried various combos of power sources and cables. Nothing seems to work. It's been this way for a while. Now I'm just using a backup phone.

The high voltage protector on your circuit board must have been damaged. Take it to a authorized personnel and get it replaced. Nothing else stands a chance and it cannot happen because of a software issue. If it was a software issue then it would be more like there won't be any indication that it's charging and battery percentage shown would be stuck but still the phone's battery will be charging and will stay powered on.

No, no! Your USB Type-C port will be attached to a separate circuit board. The board may also include a mic and maybe a speaker too. So there will be a switch just like a MCB for your house, which in case of high voltage will get get burnt and hence break the circuit. Now just replace that board. Or some manufacturers' design allows just the surge protector to be replaced (Which will save you a lot of bucks).

Big Billion on Flipkart And Great Indian Sale on Amazon are on so i recommend you u to change your phone to poco f1.
There might be the problem with the port of mobile due to which it wont be able to charge up, or there can be some issues with battery as well.
Hey guys just yesterday I burnt my phones charging port while charging my phone.
Copper pins inside of cable we completely burnt and maybe the phones port pins were burnt too.
I have submitted my device and charger to Samsung Service Center and now I am waiting for their response.
I checked my Electricity socket and it was completely fine.
Prior to this incident I used to hear ticking sound whenever I used to move my phone while charging which I ignored thinking that it was some sort of system sound. But later I realized that it was coming from charging area as I used to hear it even if phone was shut down.
Is anyone facing such issue with charger? If so please replace the charger as it will probably turn into a nightmare.
Btw, I am using Exynos version. :good:
