Hello,
I've rooted my DEFY+ to Gingerbread 2.3.6 (using threads found here) and everything is working; I had a battery drain problem so I installed NQ Android Booster together with GO Power Master and I've used Titanium Backup to freeze some unused (not system ones) app.
Now I have this overheating problem: battery discharging in 12 hours or less, high temperatures even if phone is in pocket; it restarts by itself randomly and several times I use to put it in a chilling water glass to accelerate the process.
I'm seriously thinking about a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S3 is sooo tempting) but I'd like to know if it's a phone or fw or whatever problem.
Thanks,

Stock or custom ROM?
Hello Auris,
actually I flashed to a stock rom found on the forums, it has
Basebrand version: EPU93_U_00.60.03
System version:45.0.2310.MB526.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Build number: 4.5.1-134_DPF-231
Root your phone and flash some custom ROM... I'd recommend Quarx's latest CM9 build (you can find a how to thread in the threads, started by me).
I've searched for the topic and found it; actually as I'm not into flashing and more, I have to understand where to find things and how to do the whole thing.
Thanks in advance for the help, much appreciated!
Then I'm on CM9 and all problems seem vanished!
Thanks Auris =)

Hello to everyone. First of all thank you all in advance for answers. I searched the forums but always the same thing , and no solution for my problem.I am posting here because I can't post to the topics of specific roms in development section
So Motorola Razr M (XT902 Japanese softbank version)
I installed 2months ago Bare bones 1.2 ROM from this forum. The ROM is amazing, with couple of tweaks works exactly as I want it to!
But since I installed it I noticed excessive battery drain during night or everytime when phone should sleep. Didn't bother me at all since screen on time was still pretty decent if you just use phone more than it's idle. But recently situation changed and I need the best possible battery time..
Tested it it with few wakelock detection programs and come to the conclusion it's ROM/Kernel problem.
I tried a lot of ROMS with their Kernels. Including stock fastboot roms of XT 905 and XT907.
Then I tried again flashing stock softbank rom with kernel, and viola as soon as screen shuts down phone goes into deep sleep.
Later I tryed MIUI from this forum and also phone goes into deep sleep.
Since using a stock rom is not a option for me ( a lot of reasons) , I will be using MIUI for now but I would like to revert back to some of those XT907 - XT905 roms since they work great (except that)
So what are my options here? Anyone elese with these phones experienced deep sleep problem?
Thank you
Anyone? Or let me to rephrase, is there any way to flash a different rom with stock kernel, or is there any way to force cpu to deep sleep when screen off?
Thank you
SOLVED
Sorry to bring that old topic back, but just saw it and remember I solved it long time ago ,so in case somebody has same problem on Japanese Razr M:
Softbank 201m ( Razr M) has slightly different modules/drivers than other Razr M versions so when and if you flash Verzion or other stock firmware fastboot image through SBF , make sure not to flash kernel ,devtree and module releted files or your phone will not enter deep sleep and your gps will also not work. If you come across some problem, post here and we'll try to fix it.
Cheers
Hey guys!
I have a few questions about this ROM. I just exchanged my 4s for an S4 yesterday, so I'm a noob. Welcome for me, I guess.
I followed a few tutorials and successfully rooted the device. Installed ClockWorkMod and then installed a ROM called Official Google Edition 4.4.2 by Jamal2367. Been in love with that KitKat look ever since it came out.
I did this without previously checking the battery life, since the phone is used. I was wondering if someone is using this ROM and how is their battery holding up. I'm getting some pretty bad battery performance. I was in the shower for 20 minutes, screen locked and music playing on half volume. It drained 6% out of the phone. Is it the ROM or is it the battery?
Thank you in advance and sorry if re-post.
Hey guys,
I'm currently using OzcanRom and it's just great - strongly recommended!
My only issue is exactly the same issue as described in this post:
I'm facing a very strange problem as i'm unable to switch on my bluetooth... last week only i rooted my phone and installed CWM recovery...then i installed Custom Rom's like Hassan ROM, Omega ROM, Cyanogenmod 11 Rom, Pacman ROM etc etc just to check various Rom's and their features out.....At first i installed only one ROM at a time and den also dual booted two ROM's by romswitcher...While i was checking my phone once i discovered that my phone's Bluetooth is not turning ON...The toggle is only becoming light green and also from the settings its only showing turning Bluetooth On but it's unable to turn bluetooth On.....Now i googled my problem and read across various forums for solution...I tried various things also flashed my firmware to stock samsung but still bluetooth does not turn On...also i flashed with stock samsung firmware of feb and march 2014 and updated my phone over OTA but still the problem persists....i even installed latest perseus kernel while rooted but still could not turn my bluetooth ON.
I would be very grateful if someone can help me solve my problem and help me Switch ON my bluetooth as it is very needed aspect for my daily use.
My Version of S4 is i9500 with android kitkat 4.4.2. Also all my other features are working normally on custom ROM's too.

I too installed this Omega rom at some point and once I did that these problems started.
A user in that thread posted a reply in which he uploaded a file which he claims fixed his problem.
I really need my bluetooth to work again and would love to flash this file using Odin if it would fix the problem
BUT
I have no clue what implications flashing this file can have, can it mess other things up? I've spent the last four hours setting things up again in my new ROM and I would hate to have to do it again or even worse, cause some unsolvable problem with my phone.
I assume some of the developers here could help me out - should I run it?
Thanks!
Hi at all! Since I had my first smartphone I always used CyanogenMod to unlock all the power of my devices and have an pure stock android experience. I use CM11 on a s3 and a few times ago on a s4. I used always nightly build because I'm curios and I like to discover bug and discuss with other to solve them (I'm not a developer, only an appasionated smartphone user).
With my s4 (i9505) I used officials nightly from jflte section of cm download site and I updated it with Cyandelta app. I used Ktoonsez kernel.
It's impossible for my s4 to boot into Cm11 after a reboot or when I PowerOn my device after a battery change (because previous battery was 1% and device shuted down), because it hang on Model Number Splash screen. I have to remove battery, Hold for 5-10 seconds power button, insert battery and powerOn. Anyone has any idea for this problem? I've tried a lot of times to change from CM to TW and From TW to CM but problem persist anyway with Kt kernel and with stock cm kernel, but with TW rom problem doesn't appear.
A little note, I'm not using original Samsung Battery. Thanks at all and sorry for my crappy english. I'm a young student.
Try removing the batterystats.bin file... Maybe its getting confused on that.
See here for details on how to remove it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699687
I've found problem. Kernel wasn't compatible with last version of CM11.

Battery drain OptimalROM 15-5
Hello everyone. I am new at android, so please don't troll me if I d say some bs. I bought this device a month ago, it came with BOC4. I was very pleased with battery life. Some time after I decided to got root and new ROM. I look many guides and asked advices from some users of this forum. So I flashed with Odin NCG, rooted it. Then I used Flashfire and flashed rooted BOG5 stock and used Odin to flash OD5 bootloader. Then I again used Flashfire and flashed OR 15-5, both times I did full wipe. After I installed xposed with flashfire. I also tried Phoenix rom but I didn't like it. So I choosed OR like most close to stock and without Verizon stuff. Here comes my problem, it's like battery worse at 20% in comparison with stock. For night drain is like 6-8%, at stock it was around 2-3%. I did calibration twice, I use same apps that I used at stock +-. So I d like to know, did I something wrong with flashing Rom, can be this problem connected with OptimalRom, or I should look for some app that leak my battery? Also percentage is pretty strange. First 10% (100-90) leak like superfast. I also installed amplify (xposed app) but it doesn't seem to help. I also had "system ui has sfopped" couple times. With hope for good advices, sincerely yours, android naab.
