Battery drain OptimalROM 15-5
Hello everyone. I am new at android, so please don't troll me if I d say some bs. I bought this device a month ago, it came with BOC4. I was very pleased with battery life. Some time after I decided to got root and new ROM. I look many guides and asked advices from some users of this forum. So I flashed with Odin NCG, rooted it. Then I used Flashfire and flashed rooted BOG5 stock and used Odin to flash OD5 bootloader. Then I again used Flashfire and flashed OR 15-5, both times I did full wipe. After I installed xposed with flashfire. I also tried Phoenix rom but I didn't like it. So I choosed OR like most close to stock and without Verizon stuff. Here comes my problem, it's like battery worse at 20% in comparison with stock. For night drain is like 6-8%, at stock it was around 2-3%. I did calibration twice, I use same apps that I used at stock +-. So I d like to know, did I something wrong with flashing Rom, can be this problem connected with OptimalRom, or I should look for some app that leak my battery? Also percentage is pretty strange. First 10% (100-90) leak like superfast. I also installed amplify (xposed app) but it doesn't seem to help. I also had "system ui has sfopped" couple times. With hope for good advices, sincerely yours, android naab.

Hey guys!
I have a few questions about this ROM. I just exchanged my 4s for an S4 yesterday, so I'm a noob. Welcome for me, I guess.
I followed a few tutorials and successfully rooted the device. Installed ClockWorkMod and then installed a ROM called Official Google Edition 4.4.2 by Jamal2367. Been in love with that KitKat look ever since it came out.
I did this without previously checking the battery life, since the phone is used. I was wondering if someone is using this ROM and how is their battery holding up. I'm getting some pretty bad battery performance. I was in the shower for 20 minutes, screen locked and music playing on half volume. It drained 6% out of the phone. Is it the ROM or is it the battery?
Thank you in advance and sorry if re-post.
I just upgraded a friends s5 to poland's android 5 and since then it's saying it charging with the LED and everything, eating the battery. i saw a thread with close problems that says it's a hardware issue, so the last time i plugged the s5 to flash it, it's port busted??? any ideas ??
Factory reset after upgrading from KK to LP - check and see how it is then
If it's still doing the same thing, RMA
something is seriously wrong with lollipop
i installed cm 12 on it and it works like a charm, like no sudden " am charging" and stuff am flashin another aosp rom right now to corroborate my claim that says the phone only f*cks up after installing the official LP. FYI : i installed another touchwiz custom rom (LP) and the problem came back.
it seems it might have a problem with the kernel, its the NL2 build.
Yep, no problem.
The only S5 Kitkat ROMs I've found either haven't been updated in over a year, or many users are reporting severe bugs like no camera support, or severe battery drain issues.
I'm just trying to get an app called Winulator running so I can play Starcraft: Broodwar on android, but it isn't working and one user said that is because Lolipop broke it (I'm on 5.1.1 atm). The app is no longer supported so I don't think it will ever run properly on 5.x. If anyone knows of a way to emulate 4.x for just 1 app maybe that would be the best shortcut for me overall here.
Barring that, could someone please recommend a guide to installing a lightweight, power-user-oriented ROM that is 4.x or older and has excellent battery life? I was going to try the official 4.4.4 VanirAOSP release but there are too many reports of poor battery performance in the last 2 pages of that thread for my liking.
I think the first thing I need to do is unlock the bootloader, and I've yet to find a definite answer on the best method of doing this from FOL1 (12/15). It seems I will need Odin on my PC and I have it. I've also started backing up all the data from my phone by manually copying/pasting to my PC.
I guess once everything is finally backed up (it's taking FOREVER, explorer literally been calculating time to copy for 10 minutes now just on the phone/android folder), then I will try and flash the official 4.4.2 VanirAOSP ROM since that one doesn't have any reports of battery issues and possibly only the camera and a few things won't work.
BTW, is there a step specially to unlock the FOL1 bootloader that I am missing, or can I just flash that ROM with Odin straight up? I found a comment stating NOT to flash 5.1.1 with Odin or I'd be stuck on Lollipop until some new bootloader-unlock method comes out. The 5.1.1 I'm running wasn't flashed with odin it was sent OTA and I've never rooted or had custom rom/bootloader, so I should be good on that I guess?
I am actually about to dive into this, if no one has any suggestions for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2752995
So I'll just pick one at random then? Thanks for the help...
You haven't even listed your model S5 or the ROM it's running now
And of course KK hasn't been updated in over a year, Lollipop and Marshmallow are released, they're not going to keep updating KK when a newer version of Android is released
Hi,
I used a very long time xtrestolite 2.2 rom with my G900F. For me the best rom, but a little bit old. So I try many custom MM roms, but I went always back to xtrestolite 2.2. Yesterday I flashed the first time the MM stock rom, but I am not satisfied and I went back to xtrestolite (at first flashing old bootloader and modems, then twrp and autoroot. But now after each rebooot it takes about ten minutes or more, till all apps (for example Notification shortcuts, boeffla configuration, sync emails and more) are ready to start. Why? I have the first time these problems and I think, I flashed my G900F about 50 times in the last year.
Do you have an idea why. Thanks.
Problem was solved: After flashing the stock MM rom I flashed a custom MM rom. At least I install the xtrestolite 2.2 backup over titanium backup und all was good.
hi guys, i had this battery drain that made me go around with a 20k mah powerbank everyday for a while and i bought a new battery thinking it was a hardware issue but at least in the past day(i tried it only for a day) the new battery isn't any better, i also use greenify and naptime but still comes from 100 to 40 in 1 hour or less, is there a fix to that?
I'm currently running rr official nougat 5.8.3 with franco 3.10 kernel i don't know anymore what to do
i tried battery configurator but didn't help.
i also changed the type c connector but i don't think it has anything to do, i swapped it when i changed the battery.
I'm not sure how much my answer is going to help but please try to upgrade the OP2 firmware to the latest one and then clean install the custom OS on it. It happened to me too but not to an extent of yours and it got fixed by clean flashing the custom ROM. P.S I was already on the latest OP2 firmware.
