I am right now on CM 6.1.0 RC2,tried vodafone stock froyo rom,but like Cyonogen a lot.
Cyanogenmod Dev's are awesome.Waiting for a stable release of CM 6.1

Here is the method
Make sure that your phone is soft rooted using some soft rooting methods
Also there is ~400 MB Free space in the SD Card
Step 1: Push the busybox binary (http://10stones.com/and_bin/busybox) to the /data/local
adb push busybox /data/local

i tried the method described by smartvinu to extract the system image.
while i entered
/data/local/busybox tar -cv -f /sdcard/system-img.tar /system
i get this error message:

This is a really good ROM. It is pretty fast, and looks nice.
One minor bug, I can't seem to change the lock screen slider shortcuts. I change them, and hit save, but they don't stick. I wonder if it is related to the titanium backup problem where the backups need to be moved to another location?
Other than that, everything is good so far.

On tablets maybe because on my phone it works just like should :silly:

Update: fixed this by editing the buttons in the system menu. Changed the recent button to the search button and then add the recent button again, problem solved

4.0.4 to 4.3 [P7310]
Hi Safariking,
I truly enjoy and appreciate your work.
I install a cleaned ROM from my P7310 about 6 months ago and it works so great didn't want to change it.
Everyone says that 4.3 runs very nice and I would like to give it a try.
Question:
Can I flash with this ROM from your StockRom V6 (nice, smooth and fast) to your new [ROM][4.3][P7310] Android-HD.
Should I do anything extra, than just a normal flash?
Format anything??? (I don't mind if I lose anything)

Hi safariking, maybe is a good idea to let choose user during installation what launcher use, Launcher2, Trebuchet or Nova. In some Rom you can choose via Aroma installer

Adfree doesn't work because it can't mount a partition to write the host file to. Any idea? Some bug with superuser? It states that it's not rooted. Why is that?

Fix for root:
Go to developer options in settings and search for root acces turn it off and after than turn it on again tick the box by only apps reboot
i don't know about AdFree i don't use it sorry man

Boot anmination halp

Hi Guys,
So i put a custom boot animation on my phone, i am running carbon rom 4.4 aosp
i have pushed the file to system\media but no luck
i have installed xblast xposed, which shows a preview of my boot animation which showed it working but when i reboot its just black?
is there something i am missing?
any help would be great

hi there mate when yor done pushing the file on System>Media , make sure you set the Permission for this file into rw-r-r. have a nice day.

No cause boot animations are a zip.... That's what the default is... I'm not on tw so it's not that other kind of format

I really dont know what rom your using , AHA, and here's the information about how Bootanimation.zip can be placed in /system/media with custom roms or in or /data/local with stock roms with custom kernels as Battery Extender, Cf-root...
So, mount system (R/W) and paste bootanimation.zip in system/media/ or in in /data/local/ and set the correct permissions rw--r--r-- (if it doesn't work set rwxrwxrwx as permissions , and i hope someone willing to help you with this problem.Have a nice day.

Hmm just tried all this and still no luck, I think my custom rom is blocking it somehow, will try it again I a different rom when I change next thanks for your help

Can someone please upload the original 4.3 NEE version of SecMms.apk and accompanying odex, i seem to have ****ed up the original thank you very much
Edit: i used the above two files to replace my errornous secmms.apk and flagged them 755 to be sure they had appropriate security.
But the messaging icon is still gone from my ui both in nova launcher and in touchwiz (missing from apps availiable to add to launcher desktop)
i still seem to be able to send sms:es (from GoSMS) but sending MMS still doesn't work (which is why i was fiddling with this in the first place)

I did download the zip file from first post. Extracted SecSettings.apk and Keyguard.apk from the zip. Replaced it with the original ones in /system/priv-app and set permissions to rw-r-r. Did a reboot and choose the particle unlock-effect in settings.

Ok it did work, but I lost the S5 style Setting menu I was using other mod to have that. Is there anyway to have S5 style flat icon grid and list view option with this effect add on ? And no sound associated to this unlock effect ?
Also is it normal that after unlocking for a second it show my my Homescreen empty wallpaper ?
